Thomas Jefferson was the author of the Declaration of Independence. Like John Adams, Jefferson practiced law. He also worked on a long project to build a mountain retreat at Monticello, Virginia. Like Washington, Jefferson had tragedy in his early life. His wife and two of his three children died. Jefferson remained a widower for the rest of his life. He was a rising political star in United States as he became the secretary of state and founder of the Democratic-Republican Party.

21 January 1793- It was a bleak day. The bitter and cold winter brought with it the freezing breeze at the Place de la Révolution which reeked with the smell of death. At the center of the plaza, there stood a scaffold with a bloody blade hanging at the top like Death's ghastly scythe. This demonic device was called the guillotine.

Why I decided to be a writerWhen people asked why I wanted to be a writer, my answer is simply because of nostalgia. As a young child, I was often alone, and never was able to make any new friends. I was seen as the quiet, weird kid who plays by himself all alone. So, my source of comfort was children's books.
