Don't Fall Asleep: PrologueAmidst the rubble of partly-destroyed buildings and torn up cars and God-knows-whats, Renee found herself looking out from under an overturned cab that not an hour before she had boarded to head home from shopping downtown. Now, her cabbie was dead and four men were standing around the intersection a few feet in front of her trapped, invisible form. One wore a metallic suit, another some chain mail and had a massive hammer, one in a black and purple suit with a large, empty quiver and a bow strapped to his back, and the last in a red, white, and blue suit and a mask over his face. He held a shield at his side with a white star in the middle. He was the only one who was really looking and taking in the carnage around him.Don't Fall Asleep: Prologue2 years ago in Romance More Like This
Renee considered calling out to them for help, but the car was sort of crushing her a little bit and she was honestly terrified of the men. The one she had seen grow all green and destroy everything in
Don't Fall Asleep: Chapter 2Stark Tower loomed over most of the city, shimmering with its industrial physique. Loki knew it well. A hint of excitement coursed through his body as he came closer and closer to the colossus. He recalled the main entrances and where guards and security cameras were located. He also knew where the Avengers had stashed his asset.Don't Fall Asleep: Chapter 22 years ago in Romance More Like This
The mortal girl knew of him. He knew she feared him. While not nearly as beautiful as he would have preferred, she was desirable enough for his plan. There was no way for her to resist him.
Captain America killed the engine of his bike in the parking garage of the hospital. He dismounted and took quick, strong strides to the elevator that would guide him to the place he had been told she was to be bedded up.
The elevator doors clunked shut and the contraption began its ascent. Some music played that Steve found a little strange.
Kitten ChaosWhoever decided to put them in the same room together was obviously a terrible judge of character. The S.H.I.E.L.D. animal shelter was getting absolutely torn apart by seven lonely stray kittens.Kitten Chaos1 year ago in General Fiction More Like This
Nick Fury, the only one brave enough to handle the animals, slowly creaked the door open and nudged his foot in, careful not to let the little animals out. He looked at the carnage in the room.
The scratching posts were in ribbons due to a marbled fur shorthair cat named Bruce. Bruce was the one that would climb up everywhere and then bodyslam all the other cats, but that was only on select occasions. Any other time, he'd be calmly sitting in his bin watching the other cats or playing with Tony.
Tony was a fluffy white cat who was quite good at antagonizing and strutting about, batting lazily at a jingle ball. He spent a very long amount of time cleaning himself and smacking Steve in the face with his paw or tail.

"Can you hear me? Please wake up, please, little one," he begged her quietly.
She didn't respond, and he couldn't feel a pulse. No, no This couldn't be happening. He didn't mean to kill her; that was the last thing he ever wanted to happen to her! Loki dropped to his knees and cried out in agony as he clutched her to his chest.
Tony and Steve looked at each other, unsure of what to think of this situation. Was it a trick? Should they grab him now or leave him be for a moment?
Loki ignored them as he clung to the girl. He never even learned her name, and now he never would His poor little German girl! What had he done? The color faded from her cheeks and his heart sank. Loki wished he had never met her. Maybe that way she would still be alive and smiling the way he'd grown fond of.
You see, the two had met completel
The Social Event of the Season pt. 1Thor wasn't one to let his brother shy away from a social event, and especially the one for what the Midgardians called Christmas, which looked like more fun than the Asgardians had had in a few centuries. "Come, Loki! You'll enjoy yourself! Mayhap you meet a couple of horses!" The god of thunder grinned on good humor at his adopted brother. Loki, however, was having none of it.The Social Event of the Season pt. 12 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
"I'd rather it not be another ass," he said under his breath, recalling the last time his oafish older brother found a female donkey for him. The blasted thing had even taken a liking to the mischievous god, much to his disdain, and followed him around until he killed the thing.
"Brother! Your words sting me." Thor mocked a stab to the heart, pulling one of his stupid faces. "Come, when have I paired you wrong?" A self-satisfied smirk played on the Asgardian's lips.
"Not in recent times.

It was a dark day for her good senses when Sarah Miller received word she had been recruited for employment with S.H.I.E.L.D. at their new headquarters. It was an even darker day when she opened her dossier to find she would be working as an assistant in the newly retooled Avengers Inititative department, in normal circumstances, without the superhuman company, a wondrous and terrifying look into how alternate, reality really had become. Add any one of the multiple personalities, the ultra- rich, ultra smart egomaniac Mr. Stark, his friend and shadow as of late, the subtly volatile Dr. Banner, the quiet patriot and beloved super soldier, Steve Rogers, and it was a full blown party complete with balloons and streamers. She hadn't expected, with her less than stellar service record, that she would even be considered for the assignment with a mere twelve years as a lower level agent in D.C. under her belt.
I Am an IslandClint couldn't sleep. He sat on his bed, knees clenched up to his chest and he held them together with his hands. He looked at his blotchy red reflection in the door of his dresser. Sure, he had felt the pain of his family pet dying or his rejection of the girl he had his eye on, but this was a new-found grief that gnawed at his bones as he sat alone. It was the pain of guilt of his hands being the end of so many lives. The death toll after the battle was higher than he had expected; a whole five hundred. Most of it was really his fault and it didn't matter what the other said. He hadn't been fast enough to dodge Loki at the SHIELD base and not witty enough to break over his spell. He was angry and hurt and he had killed people f
I Know How to Murder Sickness overcomes my body often since my return to Asgard. I try to ignore it, mostly, though it is still there like a mass weighing down my shoulders. It is not like a cold or the flu, but mental sickness. You could say I have always been mad, but this is crazy. The way that they all ignore me, not speaking a word, makes me want to murder.I Know How to Murder2 years ago in Profiles More Like This
No, murder is bad. But it is a guilty pleasure now, and one that I must feed. But how?
It was noon, and the air smelt damp with rain. Spring approached, and everyone was in a good mood as usual. It is like, with the good weather, their happiness bursts through their skin and spreads like a disease throughout Asgard. Too bad I cannot catch that disease, though laughing like a bumbling idiot is not number one on my list of things to do.

No Name -Epilogue-Loki hung his head in shame. He had come so achingly close to taking over this planet. It killed him on the inside. He looked around for a moment. This was probably the last time he'd see earth... Part of him didn't want that to be true because this was, after all, her planet. Loki's eyes glazed over with pain. How could he have forgotten about her, even for a while? He felt as though he had betrayed her somehow.
He could still picture her from the first night they met: long blonde hair, bright green eyes... He looked down at his wrist where he hid her green ribbon. His heart seemed to twist as he pictured her lifeless body; he clenched his eyes shut, wanting to scream.
"Where's Rogers?" Natasha wondered out loud.
Clint shrugged and as if on cue, Steve rode up on his motorcycle. But there was someone riding with him.
Natasha spoke up first. "Steve, what
Don't Fall Asleep: Chapter 1Loki considered himself to be a reasonable being. He didn't beg, he didn't whine. He was an all-around likeable god. However, he needed to get back to Earth. It was an insufferable planet, but that sort of thing was not of import. The people needed him, whether the Avengers thought so or no.
The trip from Asgard to Earth would be tiresome for the god, but it needed to be done. His powers had returned to their strength since he was cast back to his home some weeks ago, which for the Avengers was only a matter of hours. Loki had learned of the time differential between the two realms and was awaiting an exploitation of it.
Loki took a deep breath and closed his eyes, inhaling the chilling scent of his environment. The surrounding ice and caverns did not make the most ideal spot for recov

"This isn't very--" He began quietly, placing his fork on the plate and gently dabbing at his mouth. He looked up at the tanner man and saw his heated eyes and warm smile.
"It's not very good," he said honestly. Tony's face changed to disappointment.
"What? So you mean to say that it's great?" Tony smiled, satisfied with his wit. Loki's mouth twitched and he looked down at his half-eaten meal.
"No. It's...not right for my tastes." He pushed the plate away and looked up at Tony. He sighed and placed his palm against his forehead, fingers extended as he thought.
"Why don't you like anything normal?"
"Maybe you should cook." Tony huffed

"Hello, brother," he spoke. He looked about, and I realized he could see the dish my wife had held, laying in shatters off the side of the rock where I was chained.
"Where is Sigyn ?" He continued. I did not reply, though instead I began to wildly shudder. With every slight movement, whether it was my head itself or just a twitch of my shoulder, my body replied with withering pain. With any slight jerk of my wrists or ankles, of which were chained down by the innards of my son, Nari, they would dig deeper into my skin; drawing more blood. Because of this, I hardly ever moved.
It took me a minute or so to realize that Thor was using his helmet to contain the venom

Loki shuddered as the icy voice rang through his head. He had just finished speaking with the leader of the Chitauri army, and his head had become foggy. Outside the hideout, the rain could barely be heard as it fell from the skies. Loki decided he needed to get out of the cramped area and took on the form of a Midgardian before sneaking off into the black of the night.
When he surfaced, Loki pulled the black trench coat tighter around him and looked to the sky. The light rain felt calming as it fell on his face. Not having any idea of where to go, he simply began walking. The streets were dead and the world seemed so calm. Earth was almost like a different place at night.
Soon, he found himself walking along a sidewalk in a small park. He stumbled across a dark figure sitting alone on one of the benches and was nearly startled. What mortal would be awake at this hour? He squinted and could see that the shadowed figure was a girl. She was watching

Thor wore a traditional midgard garb - tee shirt and jeans. He was satisfied with his masquerade, though everyone there would still recognize him. His brother, on the other hand, was dressed in something so obscene, he could barely stand it.
Loki grinned, though no one could see. He was thankful for his magic to conjure the bright yellow feathers that coated his body. Thor was incredulous when he saw his brother in the chicken suit. Loki knew exactly why he wore it.
The pair entered the room and some people turned to look at them. A few gave Loki disapproving looks, but he didn't care. Thor was almost immediately surrounde

Tony walked to the cell. Loki, awake but fearful, watched him as he walked around the cell.
Finally Tony stopped at the door, deep in thought.
"What troubles you, mortal?"
"Actually it's Tony, Loki."
"This is your tower?"
"Yes, it is. I thought it was secure."
"Are you afeared as well?"
"As well as who? You, Loki?"
"Tony, I am frightened when I open my eyes, but feared to close them," and Loki sadly smiled.
"You can't be frightened of us, surely? You are a God!"
"You have assembled to guard me. You fear for what I might do, what I am capable of. Hello Banner-son," as Bruce enterd the room.
"But here is the puzzle. I do not know what I am capable of. The fact that you are here to guard me makes me wonder what I have done. I dream of terrible things but do not know if they are real. I have been alone, in pain, for all I can remember. But Icannot remember harming any

Loki was getting bored. He had read all of the books in his room three times over without retaining any knew knowledge. He had analyzed everything to the last detail and hadn't found anything remotely interesting. He had even tried to speak with Dawn, but she wouldn't dream of replying to him. Loki wasn't sure if he wanted to call it a victory or a failure. He loved to torment her, but didn't necessarily want her to be angry with him.
He fell into a state of despair. Her silence made him angry. He was desperate to speak with someone, anyone. Any call he had for Thor was rejected and frankly, Loki didn't have many friends past that.
Dawn walked into his room one afternoon with lunch.

Dawn pressed through the throng and headed to her room. She shut the door partially behind her and sat down heavily on the mattress. Her room was modestly furnished with a wardrobe, desk, mirror, and bed. She was not inclined to any sort of art, so there were no drawings or paintings or literary works on the walls or scatter
The In-Depth Analyzation of Loki LaufeysonThis excerpt came to me in the form of a sudden emotional tidal wave. It started as me flipping through some Loki art, wondering why I could see how he thought and why...but couldn't really see why I liked him so much. I did it for you. The taste of hatred and disgust is still on my tongue. I hate you. I hate you, but I did it all for you because I just wanted you to see me, to notice me, as more than just a boy. I admire you, and your power. You wield it so carefully, wisely, with just the amount of discretion. I want to be perfect, to be like you. I want to be powerful and

Stitched Up (1/?)Steve left the diner feeling happier than he had in a long time. He had been wandering through a new part of town, when he had found this old diner with a little old lady, Delia, who ran it. He'd settled in a booth, nostalgia washing over him as he thought of the Diner he frequented in Brooklyn , back before the serum made him a super soldier. He had been reading the menu, quietly wondering why he didn't go out to eat by himself more often, when Delia had come to take his order and promptly dropped her notepad, gushing about how she remembered watching one of the Captain America shows when she was younger. Steve had signed a napkin for her, and, when closing time came around, hung around for about an hour afterwards so they could sit and talk without Delia having to help other customers. It felt nice, having someone gush over him for something he did back in the day, before the Avengers. It reassured him that he actually accomplished something during that time, even when he just felt lStitched Up (1/?)1 year ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
