We Dreamed Of Silver Sails
Remember those winters by the lake so long ago?
We were bundled in cotton and swaddled in snow.
Soft naked footprints 'cross paralyzed sea.
The breath of our skin left a pathway of steam.
Like music box figures, we'd spin on ten toes.
Our breath fogged the walls of our hourglass dome.
Folding our secrets like white paper swans,
we kissed them with wax and we locked them in jars.
The trees were our fortress. The sky was our home.
Our ink splattered fingers carved hearts in the stone.
We fashioned red kites 'round the waist of our wrists.
They left for us tails through the rings of cream mist.
We laughed and we danced through the stuttering breeze
In sea ships of cardboard and crowns laced with leaves.
We'd wake up each morning to symphonic quails.
And under the stars we dreamed silver sails.
In The GardenIn The Garden3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
The sunlight threw its hair across the peeling iron fence
Bathing rosebud domes in deep vanilla shades
Katydids clicked their thighs as moonbeamed moths ducked
Taking shelter beneath shadowed petal veils
I kissed the pale dawn, leaping over iron fence
My barefoot soles left yellow streaks across the silver stones
In the shadow of a sparrow I kept the garden path
One by one the slender trees curtsied as I passed
The liquid honey sunlight filtered through the Autumn dawn
And here I spent my afternoon, Dreaming winters gone
There Was a Storm TodayThere Was a Storm Today3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
The palms of rain and soil applauded as they met,
twisting their fingers to knot a streaming brook.
Lightning followed, pounding its fists against the smoking sky,
While gusts of wind erupted; raindrop fireworks.
Mist began to swirl above the steaming pavement-
(reminding me of those winters by the lake so long ago.)
The puddles chased the passing storm to clear
the dusted streets and wash the trees of poor habits.
Again the lightning flickered, like a dying silver bulb
swinging by a string in some attic from the past.
The storm exhales once more to retract its mighty arms.
And so the afternoon awaits the sun to press her fingers through the clouds
So the birds can fly again.

His fingertips splashed through the ivory keys
With ripples that scattered in rows
While windows bloomed petals of watery pinks
Each kissing his cheeks with a glow
Releasing his notes like a bird caged in spring
He untangled the keys from their din
Making sense of a sequence not meant to be seen
He etches them deep in his skin.
He performs for the windows and plays for the halls
The curtains will sway in his song
The picture frames quiver and jump from the walls
Beneath the great rush of his palms.
So I open my window, before I lay rest
Just to capture a trace of his spawn
It's been years since I've heard it, but still I await
for the chime of the Pianist's song.

I have a single heartbeat
locked and boxed in glass
It's tucked beside my window
and sheltered from the past
I water it quite often
with honeydew and milk
It reaches for the sunshine
with petals pruned of silk
At night It whispers softly
and dances for the moon
It beats in gentle hiccups
and wakes me in the noon
I've bound it on a kite-wire
I've watched it fly away
Too many times it's broken
I should leave it on display
Yellow SpringYellow Spring3 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
It came in tasteful gestures on a shouldered backward breeze.
Ghosts of smiling children rocked the rusting set of swings.
Plucking yellow daisy tops, in streams the stones did sink.
While birds of cream and navy rode above a gust of pink.
The sun rays pressed their fingers through the isle of cobwebbed clouds.
Spitting shafts of sunlight lift the humming branches' sound.
The sipping of the soil weaned as dewdrops fell in threes.
In this brutte of cradled roots I lay beneath the trees.

arising from my speech.
Dripping through my lips,
unfurling sails of poetry.
Catching wind of empty waves,
the words fall one by one.
They stoop the gentle break of day
and melt through river's run.
Curl beneath the shaded trees
and hide in hollowed rocks.
They topple through the spider's weave
and splash through bursting drops.
Sit behind the sunset
and before the rising skies,
dipping palms in Bluejay's songs
while frosting tearful eyes.
Complimenting purple streaks
across the orange noon.
Their silhouetting shadows casting
freckles for the moon.
Passing secret whispers
through the cursive of my pen,
these sleeping inspirations wait
to see the sun again.

Would you sing along
Would you dance under the stars
If I asked you to
When you see the sun
Will you think of me
And all the fun weve had.
Or will you remember the bad
The tears and the pain
If I spoke a secret
Would you listen to the words
Would you comfort me
If I cried in your arms
When you watch the clouds
Will you remember our love
The times we spent together
Or will the pain over power
And erase what we had
Would you remember me
If we met on the street
Or would you just pass me by
Like a stranger on the road
Do you wonder
As I do
Or are you content
With where your life has gone
Do you cry
Or have you simply moved on
To bigger and greater things
I cannot answer
My own tears
The pain they bring me
The fear they leave
Do you feel the pain I do
I have to wonder
Do you here my cries
But what does it matter
Where has it gone
You have left
For good I think
But still I wonder
if we met
would you know me
would you cry with me
or ignore my pleas

Your strength is unmatched.
You can do anything you strive for.
Be prepared for an attack.
I'll stand right beside you.
I'll let nothing pass.
Say what you want.
Let me know.
I will see you glow.

We'll dance together on the empty street.
With your shallow breathing against my head,
We'll sway along to words unsaid.
When you look in my eye,
I know, it's time to say goodbye,
But will you grant me one last wish?
To Hold me in your arms,
And Sing me a sweet lullaby,
To let me drown in your melodic voice for one last time,
And Let me dream of a place where you are mine.
To let the tune wash away my pain,
For I want to relive that moment once again,
When you and I first met each other
And to prove to myself, that there can be no another,
Who could ever take your place.
And our moments spent together,
I'd do anything to retrace.

I remember the snow.
Every year I would have gone to that same corner
To try and build a hiding place.
I remember the snow.
The cold would make me smile.
The cold was refreshing.
I remember the snow.
I've never had a snowball fight.
Why throw it away?
That cold magic that gives a warm feeling inside-
I remember the snow.
It made its surroundings so quiet
That problems couldn't have been heard.
I remember the snow.
And I waited for it every year.
I remember the snow
Starting to melt.
I couldn't hide in it anymore.
I remember the snow
The noise returned, the smile disappeared.
I remember the snow.
I waited for it every year
But it never returned.
Prayer RequestsEDIT 2: i still have a few more... but for now i am going to close them, it is taking a lot of time to get to know all of them. :') Thanks for sharing your stories and praises and pains.Prayer Requests1 year ago in Personal More Like This
EDIT: I'm getting through these prayer requests one by one... I'm going to respond to all of them, so don't worry. I just really want to pay a lot of attention to each of these. So I'm really sorry if this is taking a long time!!
I saw a couple journals [Blairaptor and lupisvulpes] and what other great way to spread the Word than to take prayer requests? ^.^ There is so much more I could be doing to show God's love over the internet... this is just a really great start, and I really felt I needed to do this too.
So if you need me to pray for you, or your family, or anyone you know or anyone you DON'T know for that matter I will pray for it.
You don't even have to believe in God for me to pray for you, because what's the point of only praying for the people that do? That isn't spreadi

The transportation I have longed
Have not come of this new state
What have I done to be so wronged?
All around me has not changed
The house I always knew
And the walls the same color
The air the same hue
Yet when I lift my hand
In front of my cold face
I see right through the figure
Barely a line left to trace
As I take a step, or clench my fist
I feel my limbs as floating gossamer
My whole form is but a mist
I never imagined it would be like this
When I ceased to exist
I hear in the next room
Cries of weep and woe
Familiar cries of my mother, my father
But never of such unequalled sorrow
Quickly I rush into the room
To see lament so loathsome
I place my hand on my father's shoulder,
To the shock I can't help but succumb
No touch have I felt
My hand has gone right through
As if nothing was there
Can this horror be true?
Loudly I call out his name
Doesn't seem to hear
I cry out, louder louder, still
Does he not know I'm here?

For making me invincible when I'm feeling small

For all the times you made me see
For all the wrong that you made right

For never leaving me behind

For being the answer when I don't know
For holding me tight and not letting go
For picking me up when I'm feeling down

You've cut me, you've sewn me
You've raised me, you've grown me
You've made me, you've known me
ever since the night I spoke.
You've built me, you've blocked me
You've freed me, you've locked me
You've helped me, you've mocked me
with a dream that you awoke.
You've held me, you've drowned me
Your form unknown around me
You've lost me, you've found me
Your woven threads confound me
You've moved me, you've bound me
Your depth and length enshroud me
And all the while you ground me
To a world unfit for you.
And silently you stir
Beneath the crevice of my youth.
A double-sided knife
would be an understated truth.
