Hal rested one hand on the satchel bag that was slung under one arm. It hung loosely from the strap wrapped around his shoulder, and he patted the canvas with his talons as if reassuring himself that it was still there.
“Relax Hal.” Marcus chuckled at Hal's anxious tick. “We're almost there.”
Hal let out a deep breath and nodded to his brother. It was just another courier job. Nothing out of the ordinary. The two of them sat together on a water ferry that silently glided through the canals of Calypsa, and Marcus seemed to be enjoying the warm summer breeze that carried them forward. “I'm not worried about the delivery. I'm worried about being late for dinner.“
Marcus laughed. “It was your idea in the first place to take the job on such short notice. Are you worried about dad chewing you out again?”
“Aren't you?” Hal grunted. “Using 'it was Hal's idea' doesn't work for you anymore, remember?”

Zero was created by the late Dr. Albert Wily sometime in the early twenty-first century. When he was first activated, Zero awoke as a Maverick (by the definition of wanting to cause harm to humans). Not wanting to get anymore comrades endangered by the powerful enigmatic Maverick, then-Hunter Commander Sigma himself challenged Zero in a one-on-one battle. Even though Zero eventually gained the upper hand during the battle, Sigma was able to defeat the red Maverick after the gem on Zero's head began to glow and a 'W' symbol appeared, apparently causing Zero great pain. Sigma then shattered the crystal on Zero's forehead, with the virus transferring to Sigma. Zero was soon enlisted into the Maverick Hunter's 17th Elite Unit.

“Alright, give us every coin you’ve got! And no funny business, you hear!?”
The couple had no choice; they didn’t have any weapons on them to defend themselves against the bandits, especially the large one in their group: a bear standing at an impressive seven foot height. The axe he wielded was none less terrifying either.
“P-Please don’t hurt us,” said the woman, who was sitting next to her husband at the driver’s seat. “We were just passing through!”
“Yeah, yeah…” the smaller bandit waved off. “Alright, big guy. Grab everything from the back.”
The bear nodded firmly to the wolf and made his way around the carriage. With the animals held down by their reigns by two other bandits, the old couple wasn’t going anywhere.
Suddenly, the woman gasped: “Oh no! George, the boy…!”
She turned her head to look towards the muscular bear man, who was a

Sonic stared at Tails for a moment and replied, "Sure, I would love to go swimming! It's hard for me to find people to go swimming with me, because I am so fast! Let me get my surf board. This time I am making sure I teach you how to go surfing!"
Tails smiled and ran out the door. Sonic quickly went into his closet as he yelled, "Hey! Don't leave me like that!" As soon as he grabbed his surf board, he dashed out the door to go after Tails.
When Sonic got to the lake Tails was already in the water, spinning his tails like a propeller; which gave him the ability to jet across the water. When he saw Sonic, he called out to him, "Come on Sonic! The water is great!"

Hal shook his head, still struggling to regain his breath. “I don't know where exactly. It's somewhere in that direction. That's all I know.” He waved one claw towards the wall that his tail continued to stare at.
“This changes things.” Hal's brother glanced over at Vanir. “We need to retrieve it at once. With just a little bit more, we will have enough shards to equip each and every one of us.”
Vanir nodded, smiling confidently. “We'll finally be ready to move on to the next phase.”
“Vanir, take Hal and determine its true location. Let's not waste any time. I'll spread the word for everyone to assemble.”
“Wait. Hold on.” Hal spoke up, seeming to finally find balance on the legs underneath him. “I never said I was going to help with any of this.”

faster and faster every day,
you may have lost your way,
overwhelmed by the events;
We are busy the whole day,
thinkin about the bills we have to pay,
thinkin about the things we'll never see,
or what others want us to be;
In our minds wandering,
no time to play,
no time to create,
we just keep frantically running;
But there's something inside you,
something that can make a grey sky turn blue,
something that can make a dull city breathe,
that can make you stop clenching your teeth;
And I here begin to wonder:
"Have you ever stopped to drink some tea,
Have you ever stopped to simply close your eyes and see?"

Halcyon Adhil stared up at the nighttime sky and marveled at the sheer explosion of color pouring down from the heavens. He could see the gamma ray bursts from supernovas, the fiery ultraviolet from a young main sequence, the smoldering infrared from an ancient red giant in the final stages of its existence. He was looking into the past as he looked up at the heavens, a silent witness to events that had transpired eons ago.
Hal blinked his orange reptilian eyes and squinted as a fierce gust of wind pelted his body with stinging glittering flecks of snow and rock. His tail turned away from the wind, coiling up tightly to conserve body heat. Among the DreamKeepers of Anduruna he certainly had not met any that looked much like him, a body with origins as ancient as the heavens themselves. Halcyon was a feathered reptile; a raptor. Neither dinosaur nor bird, he found himself on the terminus between two eras of evolution. His dark green scaly skin was almost entirely covered by jet black pl

By the time Hal and Vanir made it back to the cathedral, the day was beginning to transition from afternoon to evening. They walked together down to the “evil rec room” saying little to one another. Hal didn't have anything more to say to Vanir, and he was already beginning to feel the heavy onset of fatigue even though the day was yet to be finished. As they approached the room, they were met with the sounds of an argument. To Hal's familiar ear, it was definitely Miri's voice.
“How the hell is this funny to you, Marcus!?” They stepped inside the room to find Marcus lounging comfortably on one of the couches, watching the news on a large wall-mounted data scroll. Miri was standing in front of him, just barely to the side of his view of the screen. She gestured pointedly with one hand towards the broadcast.
“Just look at them. They have no clue at all. The blind informing the blinded.” Marcus was unphased by her outrage.

Marcus led Hal out of his stateroom and into the dimly lit halls of the church. They slowly weaved their way through corridors and down staircases, heading seemingly deeper into the labyrinth that served as Marcus' new home. Hal's energy was spent, and he leaned heavily on his cane with each step, his head sagging with fatigue. His eyes, however, remained alert as they walked and he did his best to mentally map the route.
Marcus walked calmly and patiently, leading Hal by half a step. His footsteps carried little weight, and only the light taps of his own cane marked the time and distance spent. Those sharp yellow irises glanced sidelong at Hal. “It's fortunate that you are here, brother.” Marcus' voice broke the cadence. “I've been in a difficult position ever since Vanir brought Miri back with her.”
“What, is she too much for you to handle?” Hal half-smirked, but his dry wit lacked the normal keenness hidden behind the words.

It all began with love.
After the dawn of time, alicorns and mortal ponies lived separate from one another. In the old age, the ponies of the earth below us started out as a very segregated race: greedy, unjust, hateful. The world as we knew it had turned evil and no longer reflected the land it was created to be. Sin was rampant everywhere and love was but a memory rarely spoken of. We alicorns, the immortal and wise race, were disgusted with what the world had become and made our domain in the heavens far above the sky. Granted, our race was not perfect either, but the land below us was shrouded in darkness and hate and we could not coexist with those beings.
The land grew colder, and snowier. The winter season one year did not stop. Spring did not come; instead, it continued to snow and freeze all around the ponies' domain. It was the windigoes, demon equine s

Vanir led Hal and Miri through a few hallways and down into the basement of the Cathedral. There, Hal encountered a sight that was somehow both expected yet surprisingly comical and irreverent: The basement was wide and open, littered with punching bags, free weights, training dummies and a rather long firing range along one whole side. One corner had an area with a modest-sized kitchen, complete with some counter space, a fridge, sink, and a few small round tables. Hal's tail blinked all four eyes simultaneously as he struggled to process the disconnect between what he expected and what he was seeing.
At one table sat Marcus, relaxed and impeccably dressed, as he read the morning paper and sipped at a hot mug of coffee or tea. A finished bowl of cereal sat just beyond easy reach, pushed aside to make room for the paper. “Good morning, brother.” Marcus smiled and raised his mug in greeting, folding the newspaper into a neat rectangle. It was almost an absurd si

Carved so as to split with every word of speech

Drowning in a world that is sinking away
Though his feet will seek the stability of ground
He finds himself caught by 'Vinashuka'
A disturbing word that rings hollow at best
For it carries the tone of a tainted solitude
A heart that has been corrupted by physical pain

How does a man know when he has gone insane?
To descend into a world where logic is naught
A moon that carries the colour of blood

I have lost all sense of meaning in this place
There is no where else for my soul to flee
Caught within the whispers of delusory madness
I can only repeat Vinashuka...

Nothing against the writer, i really appreciate the willingness to share some true advice by the writer, but i felt compelled to write my thoughts about it, as i feel it is misrepresenting what making comics actually is like, at least if that's what you want.
It also made me curious to hear more opinions on what making comics feels like for you!
This is a great opportunity to talk about this matter, would love to hear your opinions as well, so i encourage you to comment!
Doesn't matter whether you are already making a comic or have doubts about beginning one, let's talk about this!
This is a topic i really care about, since supporting beginners is something i love to do (as you can see by my tutorials/videotutorials) - there's nothing better than sharing your passion with people who are struggling but want to do the same thing you love!
Since some found it useful/inspiring, I'm sharing with you my reply, hoping

All that autumn her ghost haunted the playground;
no wisping phantom, but strident bits and pieces
clamoring for attention - a pair of black patent
leather shoes waiting expectantly by the teeter-totter.
And Sister Teresa had to pry red woolen mittens
off the jungle gym every morning.
Jimmy Boyle kept seeing her sweater at the swings,
its green wooly arms daring him to go higher
and trying to tag him "it".
And her best friend, Jenny Black
could see the flash of her pigtails
throwing copper across the kickball field
where recess waited to swallow them.
The toys vanished from the sandbox every evening
leaving nothing but a soft trail of disappointment
in their wake -
their accusations of neglect
and longing crouched under the
maple trees, swarming with the bees.
But winter proved a discordant grave -
the protest of frozen ground
an errant melody in the schoolyard
and her shoes kept shrinking
and stumbled down the slide,
leaving a thick crust of frost
like somber tracks that said good-bye

I had snuck out my bedroom window and dropped to the ground on all-fours. Dashing away from my landing spot, I quickly located my bike in the moon-lit gloom. I then gripped the handle bar with hands not quite made for it and awkwardly pedaled away.
I lived in the country, on a 92 acre ranch. It was a lot of fun living there, riding horses and herding cattle. I got lots of exercise.
After pedaling past open pasture and wooded forest I reached my destination point. A large culvert under the road. I jumped off my bike, walked it over to the culvert, and climbed inside. There was my best friend, grinning at me. "There you are, Archie!" He said. "I was starting to get worried."
I grinned, my teeth glinting in the moon. "Were you really, David?"
"No," He said, also grinning. "I know you're always just fine in the dark, creepy night. Unlike me."
David was just about the minimum requirement for being brave enough to go outside in the night by himself. Besides being brave, h
