Seriously, people? And wolves - PHOTOS!Hi!Seriously, people? And wolves - PHOTOS!4 years ago in Personal More Like This
I have been always curious about the number of people, who look at my journals. And new style of "favable" journals could finally show it to me. I was interested - when I post a journal, I usually have some + 400 views on my profile page. So I expected to have some 400 views on my last journals, which would confirm, that 400 persons read it. But it got some 6 000 views! it is MUCH more than my photos usually have! I can not believe this number is correct... I was told that the journal appeared in some dA news section, but I am not sure if that is a reason, because I had no special pageviews, just regular + 400, which is typical for a day, when I post a journal. I think that new visitors, who would be attracted by a journal, would probably (at least small part of them) visit my page, so I would have bigger number of pageviews
So this is a mystery, really...
As I said, I like my photo journals and I consider them my "trade mark", something which differs me from anot
Few words about art-thieves.Hi!Few words about art-thieves.3 years ago in Personal More Like This
My dear watchers, I really appreciate your support when it comes to fight against art-thieves.
But I bet there are also many people whose thoughs can be interpretted like "why is she so hysterical about it?". Some people say, that the fact, that some photo is worth stealing, is a kind of compliment.
Ok, so let me present my point.
At first: why am I so unhappy about reposting of photos?
Because, pals, if somebody just reposts a photo without any change, it just gives totally open space to other people who would find the photos on his/her blog, taking it and posting it themselves. And because the first person did not credit the original author, they also do not credit the creator. The more people do that, the more times the photo is reposted. Always without credit. Sooner or later, it becomes a kind of "public" property and original author has almost no chance to effect this situation.
Do you know this photo? Honestly, EVERYBODY knows it. But do you know original author? Do you

Some bad stuff, dA love and white wolves - PHOTOSHello! Some bad stuff, dA love and white wolves - PHOTOS4 years ago in Personal More Like This
I must say, that I see it more and more often here on dA. When I browse photos of animals, I almost everytime find photos of road kills or dead animals in general, often deatiled shots of their entrails and decayed bodies. I understand that some people can not take photos of alive animals in ZOOs or in the wild, but seriously... do they need to post dead animals? Moreover, usually bad quality snapshots of bowels? I think some people just forget that this is deviantART. AAAAAARRRRRRRTTTT. I do not think that remains of dead racoons are art. I find it disgusting. At least it should be posted to category "Horror", not wild animals :/ just saying my opinion.
Edit: people, I speak about REALLY disgusting photos of animals, which are torn into bloody pieces by cars. I do NOT speak about photos of dead animals in general, which can be used for anatomy references
On the other hand, I hope you noticed that time to time, I give some critiques, usually to people, whose photos ar

Dangerous animal!!! + ZOO Zlin - PHOTOSHi!Dangerous animal!!! + ZOO Zlin - PHOTOS4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Many people say, that ZOO Zlin is the best ZOO in the Czech republic. I must agree, that its exhibits are absolutely fantastic - huge, 100% natural, interesting and very photographer-friendly. Also, you can enter many exhibits, being in the enclosure together with big parrots, emus, kangaroos, deers and lemurs. ZOO Zlin just does not keep species I like - they had no canines except of maned wolves and from big cats, they have only tigers and lions. So I have visited it only once, I think. Since this time, ZOO got Hyacinth macaws, red pandas and very rarely kept New Guinea Singing Dogs, so I think I might visit it again next year
To speak about dangerous animal - ZOO built big modern pavilion, tropical hall Yucatan for South American species few years ago, housing also critically endangered Cuban crocodile. But they had to move them few days ago, because this species is extremely agressive. Crocodile were attacking the keepers. So ZOO will somehow rebuild the enclosure for a new

Dignity of lions - PHOTOSHiiiiii!Dignity of lions - PHOTOS4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Oh my, I am so tired, as I am not used to move that much XD so that everyday's excercising makes me sleep until 1 or 2 PM XD well, I should mention that I go to bed at 5 AM or so, but still, that's a LOT of sleeping!
Hurray, lions! This journal is dedicated to Svenimal and amrodel, who love lions
There is a family of Barbary lions Lily and imon and their cubs Mark and Éta and there are two adult females Gina and Buzeta, who are imon's sisters and who inhabit neighbouring exhibit I like imon, he is wonderful young male with amazing dark and huge mane, but he is also very gentle and patient father and protective partner
All photos were taken in ZOO Olomouc yesterday.
Thoughts + very cute fennec foxes - PHOTOSHi people,Thoughts + very cute fennec foxes - PHOTOS4 years ago in Personal More Like This
some of you mentioned, that you miss some personal part of my journals. Well, your interest about my personal life pleased me, it is nice to know, that for some of you, I might be something more than just a source of wolf photos
If you do not want to read recent news, feel free to scroll down to see cute fennec foxes
My personal life... well, I am not very successful right now.
As I am supposed to finish my studying in January, I should be writing last parts of my final thesis, but I can not kick myself to even start. I have total block - I can not even write my favorite fanfiction stories, I am not able to write several sentences, which would be good enough. I must at least pass my graduation exams in January, so the plan for next days is to start studying and to try hard to finish that thesis. If some MAJOR miracle happens, I still might get my second master degree in two months. But as I say, I am blocked.
The part about studying does not sound so bad, a

A Note on Daily Deviation FeaturesAt ten features into my tenure as Community Volunteer for Abstract & Surreal Photography I am noticing a certain trend in response to abstract and surreal Daily Deviations. I shall address some of the recurring themes here, and hopefully answer some questions along the way. At this point I would like to mention that I am talking about a small and vocal minority, and I sincerely thank the overwhelming majority for supporting the featured artists and their work. You're what makes this site such a great community.A Note on Daily Deviation Features3 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
With that said, let's get to the troublesome themes I am coming across.
The "This is crap!" Argument
As an observer and a critic, you're entitled to think that something isn't very good. However, exclaiming as such on the comments of a piece of work that an artist has spent time and energy creating is not only counter-productive, but rude and insulting, especially if it's not followed up with some advice about how you think they could make their
Do you love werewolves? If you love werewolves like I do, you really should be a part of this: http://www.indiegogo.com/Freeborn-The-MovieDo you love werewolves?4 years ago in Personal More Like This
This is the Freeborn project, a revolution in movie making and in werewolf films in general. I have been a part of The Pack since the beginning (I was the eighth person to sign up on The Pack forums back in 2004) and have been cheering Anthony on ever since. I, too, had given up hope of this ever seeing film, but it's back! I really think Anthony has a shot now of making this happen. But he needs all of our help. Please visit the link above and watch the video there. If you have no idea what Freeborn is, you should watch this video as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmwMRziIHj0 In fact, you should probably just subscribe to the YouTube channel and watch everything there: http://www.youtube.com/user/FreebornTheMovie
Or better yet, you should just come and join the Pack message boards: http://w
Self-injury Awareness Day: March 1stSelf-injury Awareness Day: March 1st3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Self-injury Awareness Day (SIAD)
Today is Self-injury Awareness Day. While every day it would be utterly wonderful if people could spread awareness, the reality is there is still so much stigma surrounding self-harm and not enough people understand how truly devastating it can be. People don't really want to discuss it, and it's easier to ignore rather than except that someone might feel so unhappy that they feel the need to hurt themselves to cope.
Here, we've included some popular questions people often wonder about self-harm. Hopefully it'll help erase some confusion and help understanding around the subject.
"Whether people have deep wounds or slight injuries, the problem they represent should always be taken very seriously. The size of the wound isn't a measure of the size of the conflict inside."
ZOO Dvur Kralove - PHOTOS + lens troubles?Hi pals!ZOO Dvur Kralove - PHOTOS + lens troubles?3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Kiriban was caught and the winner will be featured soon
I also passed all your comments and compliments (on the last journal's photos) to my parents, they were very pleased and thanked you so thanks!
This weekend I spent in mountain and I visited one of my favourite ZOOs, Dvur Kralove nad Labem. I was a bit disappointed that they moved cheetahs (I did not see them at all), because this ZOO was very good for taking photos of them. They also moved fennec foxes from very photographer friendly enclosure which allowed the foxes to enjoy some sun light into a nocturnal indoor pavilion which is very dark and you can watch the foxes only from above, so I am afraid I lost this place for fennec photos I also did not manage to take good photos of baby tigers and baby leopard although I tried a lot. It seems that my lens refuses to focuse, which scares me I admit I could take some 70 000 photos with it, but... do not die, 55-250 IS! I can not be without photography!
Bitten by a squirrel + funny ZOO Vienna - PHOTOSHiBitten by a squirrel + funny ZOO Vienna - PHOTOS3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I used my a bit higher (but still pathetically low) self-confidence to meet another dA member - this time it was Shadow-and-Flame-86, lovely young scientist from Scottland, where she studies marine mammals! It was just perfect, she is very nice person, we had fun (at least me ). I am really glad we met and could chat a lot about her work, ZOOs and animals in general
What was the biggest attraction? Giant pandas? Wolves?
No! Those were squirrels
ZOO Vienna is totally full of wild but tame squirrels. And by full I mean that they are everywhere in a forest part of the ZOO! People feed them with nuts, so they come VERY close to you, they even run to humans, following them and begging I was ready for this and I prepared a sack of wallnuts for me and Shadow-and-Flame-86 to have some fun. It was amazing one squirrel bit me when she took a nut from my fingers - I was rude to hold it too tightly, I think XD other squirrel climbed me chest, other one my

About StrawmenAlright a couple of things...About Strawmen4 years ago in Personal More Like This
First off, I'm getting really tired of people assuming that every character I create has to be a 1:1 representation of something. Be it a strawman, a mary sue, or whatever. I didn't have this problem before I started working on SYAC, but I have a feeling it's because I earned a bad reputation early on.
In some of the earliest SYAC comics (done almost a year ago I might add) I had my character arguing against broad representations of "fans." They were the closest thing I've ever done to a strawman comic and I realized right away how negative and petty it was. I stopped doing them, but by that point I fear the damage was already done. I had made a bad first impression, and first impressions are the most important.
Ever since then whenever a new character pops up in SYAC, people assume they must be a representation of something. Curmudgeonly Carl? He must represent hatred of fine artists. Persistent Pam? She must represent haters. Tenko? He must represent hat

The first snow came - it was very thin layer, much less than 1cm, so it did not survive the night, but it still pleased me
It inspired me to post some photos of wolves on snow - those shots are quite old
Wohoo, this number of pageviews? thanks people, it looks nice - I wonder if I can make it to 1 000 000 until the end of 2012! it would be awesome

Nobody caughed the kiriban?
What a pity
Will, will, where are you?
I do not mean any guy (although Will Riker is kind of cute ), but my own will - I can not get into losing weight again, although I now have the perfect chance to continue! I hate my weak will so much, how comes that I can not kick myself to continue, especially when I see it IS possible? :/ nah, I am so angry at myself. Go, stupid Woxys! There are still 20 kilos of fat which wait to be removed.
Mhhhhhm, I really need to start, as even the current state makes me feel much happier than the state a year ago.
Sorry for talking about this issue a lot, it is not easy, although I have already managed to lose some 20 kilos. And now other 20 should go away! It is just hard, because yes, it is nice I lost so much, but I am still so terribly overweight I have so many motivation clothes, but I obviously need a big kick to continue. GOOO, blonde, go but thank you for your support, you are awesome.

Important + Kiriban is CLOSE!Hi!Important + Kiriban is CLOSE!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
No time, photo of myself will be posted soon and kiriban 833 333 is extremely close.
Today no photos, I need to share important thing!
People, it is spring and wild animals have babies.
PLEASE! If you find some baby animals in the wild, do NOT come close to them, and ABSOLUTELY do NOT touch them!
Baby animals often seem to be abandoned, but in fact, they do what they are supposed to do: they hide in the grass without moving, waiting for their mother, who is in fact close to them. Baby deers, baby rabbits and another animals do NOT stay with their moms all the time! Their moms feed themselves and then they come to their babies to feed them with milk.
IF YOU TOUCH THOSE BABIES, mothers are scared by human scent, leaving the babies to die!
Every year, workers of all stations for handicated animals are sad and frustrated, because people bring baby animals to them, saying ,,I found this baby deer in grass, it was so alone." If those people saw those babies and went away without touching
