How to make Princess Sally perfect for the hatersA lot of people hate Princess Sally because of the comics and or ignorance and some call her a Mary Sue so here are the steps we need to take to make her attractive to her haters:
1: Make her dumb: By default Sally is a smart intelligent girl, as we all know all females in media must be scatter brained numb skulls to appeal to the audience. Make her obsessed with boys, or in this case Sonic and have her chase him around like some crazy stalker!
2: Make her a hedgehog: As we all know Sally is not a hedgehog, this is a crime against nature so lets make her a hedgehog, even better a PINK hedgehog because pink is a color all little girls like!
3: Make her weak and or timid: Girls cannot be commanding or strong, we all know that! For get that nonsense that girls can be good commanders and the 60's, lets go back to the 30's or something where ladies said little and were good for two things, cooking and birthing babies!
4: Make her a shopaholic: All girls must learn how to be materialistic, s

I've been looking up at the Modern Sonic vs. Classic Sonic debate for quite some time. I've had people trying to persuade me as to whether Classic Sonic is good or not.
Well, I've put in a lot of thought on the debate, and I've made a decision.
Classic Sonic is as masterful as people say.
I mean, look at it. Let's put on Sonic 1. Take a look at how slow Sonic's traveling. Isn't that so cool?
Sonic 2 is great, but look at Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Playing it is just too amazing. Now I know why a lot of people love it. Chaos Emeralds, nice story, Knuckles appearing, a lot of platforming, et cetera. IT IS GODLY! No other Sonic game's as good as this one. PERIOD.
But then, look at Modern Sonic. Sonic Adventure's good, and SA2...sort of...if it weren't for those STUPID treasure hunting stages and shooters. But now look at the franchise. Look at Modern Sonic. It's all going downhill now.
LOOK WHAT SEGA'S DOING TO THEIR MOST POPULAR FRANCHISE!
The true reasons I hate Mecha SallyMany fans hate the new Mecha Sally subplot in the archie comics. So do I! But whenever someone talk about how horrible it is, someone else is quick to call you a Sally fanboy. Newsflash: anyone on deviantart is a fanboy! Yes, I'm a Sally fanboy, but I do not worship her as a god or anything. Call her overrated, i can respect that, any character can be considered overrated after all. But people think that we hate mecha sally because they think we don't like to see anything bad happen to her. I know the freedom fighters are in a war and injuries and such are inevitable. The true reasons I hate Mecha Sally3 years ago in Personal More Like This
So i'm going to clear one thing out of the way: I don't mind roboticizing. I even wrote a short segment on my old account in which Sally became roboticized. I even wrote a story in which Sally died (my Insanity Zone story). So it's not that what I hate about the Mecha Sally arc! It's the horrid execution of ian Flynn on the entire arc.
Let's start at the beginning...Eggman reboots the universe and half the population of t
Sonic #253- wait #1 or..?I'm honestly not sure what to say, about this comic, its like its wants to act like its a reboot of the series but its tacking on the previous comic stories for the sake of it, it feels more a hanger on then part of the story, reading this comic I'm not reading my sonic anymore.Sonic #253- wait #1 or..?2 years ago in Scraps More Like This
Plus these new groups of people that work for eggman one of the soldiers spoke my mind " why do we take orders from him?" exactly my question for a long time with this series, eggman works alone as far as I'm concerned, if everyone banded together it wouldn't be hard to just drop in and kill him, and if they knew what eggman knew at the time seeing he was helpless I'm pretty sure there welcoming appearance would have been much different, I'm actually burnt out with eggman I want to see him dead already, just a bullet to the head.
and I'm sorry to say this but if the story didn't tack on the previous comics it might actually be okay in its own right, but no , its a

Based on the original script written by Karl Boll(ocks)ers for Issue 134 of Sonic the Hedgehog, published by Archie Comics
This re-write is intended for entertainment purposes and is also intended for those who loathe the original issue. No offence is intended for anyone who enjoyed the original story, but like any of you did anyway.
I was originally going to avoid doing such a re-write but my friend :iconssj3alex: REALLY wanted me to do it so I decided “Well, why not?” so here we go…
Notes: Antoine was never replaced in this re-write, meaning he and Bunnie never broke up. Reason being their break-up was unnecessary and it led to a pretty crappy two-part story that shouldn’t have happened that way. Also there was no reason for Antoine to turn out to be Patch anyway other than for Penders to screw around with potential character development that would have made Antoine more interesting. As is, they’re still together in

Did you know that the Sonic franchise had 4 TV shows? When I got Sonic colors a few Christmases ago, I decided to do some research on the franchise and I found that the blue blur has had several stories outside of the games, with different storylines, different cast and different gimmicks, with only Sonic, and to a lesser extent Eggman, tying them into the franchise. While most have their favorites, there is one sonic story that has gotten so little recognition that even some of the hardcore Sonic fans don’t even know about, Sonic the Hedgehog, the comic book series.
In 1992, Archie comics began to publish the Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series, which originally followed our title character and his group of friends as they try to stop Robotnik from taking over the world. As the years passed by and head writers changed, the comic has gained more protagonists to root for and villains in the pursuit to take over the world.

Not to mention the latest genesis wave was a very lazy, not to mention disrespectful way of rebuilding the universe. It's not a reboot, it's changing things up randomly in the hopes of undoing a mess only to make it a bigger mess! Some storylines that should have had conclusions didn't get one! I hate the Mecha Sally arc, but at least I hope that they would find at least something of a conclusion instead of...

Flynn, you had to get rid of one of Bunnie's signature story/background elements, didnt ya? Either this means that Flynn got his way and changed the back story to his way or one of the new mandates says that Roboticization never existed in this new version. But ever since the beginning Bunnie's story has been that she was captured and half roboticized because she was rescued. I feel like this just goes against one of the main parts of the back story of the comic. I mean Bunnie (to me) Showed the rest as a constant reminder to what Roboticization does to someone. It gets rid of a living symbol and loses a dramatic part of the plot. I have a bad feeling about whats to come and if this is any indication then i have a good reason too....
Make this of what you will guys. But this comic is living to become the villain...
A serious misconception of our groupWell, with me being in the mood to rant a bit, I figure I might as well address something that's really been eating at me lately.A serious misconception of our group2 years ago in Personal More Like This
As we're all sadly fully aware, our beloved Satam cast has been awfully redesigned just to please the SEGA lords, or that is the way it looks at least. And some of the things I've been hearing from the comic fans they throw back at us is, "You're just mad your favorite character got hurt. Or "You're a rabid fanboy who can't handle to see them go through suffering."
Both are these are dead wrong. That is not the reason at all why we're upset.
For those who have read my fanfics, I have put two of my favorite characters through alot of trials and suffering because I'm fully aware of the fact suffering and adversity can bring out character development and make them stronger mentally. So yea, I love Sally Acorn and Kitty Katswell, but I do put them to the test and through the fire because I want to see them overcome their challenges and become even better charact

To keep this from being too long, I'll be brief and only review one or two issues at times. Since 222 comes after 221 and was completely pointless, I'll just review Issue 221.
Oh yes, before I start, I will say right now to all of those who may end up disagreeing with me... you can disagree or not like my opinion all you want, but if you dare flame this review, I will hide your comments and block you from this group.
You Ian fans either act civil or stay away completely from this group. I will not tolerate your bad conduct anymore.
So, let's begin.
What was its flaws?
#1: Ian turned Mina into a heartless witch.
No matter how many try to justify her behavior with a "She was suffering with PTSD" or something like that, her behavior was completely inexcusable. Worse yet, her having traumatic nightmares w
Commentary Concerning the Mecha Sally Story ArcBefore I get started I wanted to say that this is in part a response to Skythehedgehog47's “Too Much Sally?” article. I was going to post this as a comment but as you can see it turned into something more than that. I wanted the commentary below to be a demonstration of what I consider to be the baseline standard of character development not only for the Archie Sonic series and SatAM, but also any story or any kind that one were to write.Commentary Concerning the Mecha Sally Story Arc2 years ago in Editorial More Like This
As for the too much Sally question, it's not that there is too much Sally, it's that there is not enough development of the other characters. What has been done with Sally in the past should be the gold standard of how other characters should be developed. As an example, Penders did this sort of development with the echidna characters and their families, as well as their society and culture. It is unfortunate that this standard was not applied to Bunnie, Antoine, and especially Rotor, as well as other characte

After :iconvorahk295: wrote a journal about terrible characters and asking how they could be fixed, I decided to write the answers I wrote to him in a journal for all to see.
Bear in mind these suggestions are my opinion, so if you don't like it, fine, you don't have to, but disagree with my ideas respectfully.
Let's start with the two :iconvorahk295: mentioned... Scourge and Mina.
Scourge's flaws are pretty blatantly obvious. He is terrible recolor who's had pretty much everything handed to him since his inception. He gets Sonic's current girl at the time, becomes king of Moebius, even having his girl try to bust him out of jail inspite of the fact he's done nothing but abuse her.
Yea, this in a sense what we would call a Gary-Stu. Worse yet, as one of our members mentioned, he even is a direct rip of NegaDuck's personality from the Darkwing Duck comics.
If that doesn't scream terrible, I don't know what does.
So how would I fix Scourge, or a

I guess you could say that for the action oriented games. It would suck that if the fast and fun game-play was broken up by slow and boring ass cut-scenes.
But, for RPG's like Sonic Chronicles then no. I'm sorry but you need heartwarming, funny, tear-jerking moments and maybe a little nightmare fuel to go with the awesome moments. It IS going to be a long game so you may as be entertained by the various aspects of the characters that you'll be using and interacting with.
Now take what I said about RPG's and make it even more important. That is how important the story is for the comic.
Now as much as you, the reader might hate/tolerate the Archie Sonic story and it's characters you do have to realize that these aspects is what kept it going. If the comic copied the games to the letter and was one big action sequence the comic would have been canceled in few years. Even more so considering that t
SegaSonic fans and Sally. So i was talking to several SegaSonic fans about Sonic Lost World and other random topics about Sonic. One of the things that was brought up was there is (supposedly) a petition asking Sega to remove Amy from the games, which is something i would support cause shes nothing more than a fan service character now a days. I said that and mentioned having her a) re-written so shes more like she kinda has been in the comics: loves Sonic, inst crazy and stalking him, and understands that Sonic loves Sally... though shes still gonna try. and b) Replace her with Sally.SegaSonic fans and Sally.2 years ago in Personal More Like This

If you guessed some people actually liked the idea, surprisingly several people agreed with me, but no i got the whole "She's a 'Mary-Sue" and "She and the rest of the comic characters are terrible" arguments. Well the latter is more or less the writers fault and several admitted that they only read the Penders-Bollers era and the last 2 years when they have been M.I.A. but seeing the former argument a

So, what would you say is in your opinion is the most infuriating thing about Ian's current story?
I know there's alot about it we can say that angered us, but what is that ONE THING that just thinking about it makes your blood boil and want to personally walk up to Ian and shout, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?"
Personally, I could pick just about any of them. From the ridiculously overblown story, the gigantic plotholes, violently shoving the comic cast aside just to benefit Tails and Amy.
Of course Sally being treated like crap and subjected to horrors that no character has ever been before or since. I even have a few sharp words about the obviously forced SegaSonic designs onto Sally, Bunnie and Antoine as well.
But after thinking this over long and hard, there is only one that has angered me more than all of those.
The attitude of the main heroes.
I swear, it's all I can do from literally not writing

Fuck that! It's like Meyer was ghost writing for the comic. OMFG! How in the hell has the romance sunk so low? 134 was atrocious, 172 was like a bottomless pit, and worst of all, people actually think that it furthered the story.
No they didn't. They were just reckless attempts at making the comic more dramatic, which it certainly didn't need because there was already enough of it. And let's not get into what came after.
Sally went out with Ken, even though the couple had absolutely no chemistry whatsoever, and Ian decided to appeal to the fans by having Sonic go out with Amy.
The retcons were the worst. Iron Dominion was like making Sonic the Hedgehog into an Eastern soap opera.
It was just a train wreck that had gone off a deep chasm and never came back.
Other-m and Archie Sonic SimilaritiesOkay, I had this in my head for a couple days so I figured I get this down now. Many of us have read archie sonic, and have read Ian Flynn's Other-M, and have different views, and many have said Archie Sonic is looking like Other-M. Now when I first heard someone say this, I thought to myself "what the heck? No it's not" and started thinking of the different characters and events. Doing this, I realized that there were some significant similarities between the two comics, and I will be stating them here.Other-m and Archie Sonic Similarities3 years ago in Personal More Like This
One, Fiona Fox. I know what some of you are thinking 'Fiona Fox in other-m is NOTHING like Fiona Fox in Archie Sonic, and believe me, I thought the same thing at first, then I took a closer look. Fiona Fox in Other-M took the role of Sonic's Sally, looking like her and even going on bomb planting missions just like Sonic and Sally did in classic Satam. When Ian came into the Archie Comic's writing business, he made Fiona turn evil, (pretty stupid if

Layer One. People who have either lost interest or have just left. I can to a great extent actually understand why many people are doing this, but this is the incorrect strategy. Has it ever dawned upon you that you and others like you were the only ones who offered any resistance to the "fans" who have succeeded in turning this whole franchise into an intellectual landfill? (I'll talk more about them later). When more people left, things kept getting worse. And when things kept getting worse, more people left! It's a downward spiral that keeps getting worse and worse unless this is stopped. Why not promise to stay and fight back and demand better? You might be thankful for it one day. But if you chose to leave, you may do so but just remember one thing. Leaving will only leave a heavier and heavier burden for those who choose to stay behind and fight back. Think about that long and hard.
Layer Two. Fans who are way too casual. "It's just Sonic, yo
Reboot? More like re-butt!Been a while since the last rant, but here I am. I am no way a fan of Ian's work and a big part of his writing was questionable. But sure, continuing almost a decade of continuity of previous established characters and stories cannot be an easy task. Okay, maybe he could have handled or brushed over some plots differently but I wouldn't underestimate being a writer.Reboot? More like re-butt!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The reboot would seem like the best idea, start over, keep the core and the characters but because of a fresh start you can do with it what you want, and do it in a style you suit best and not having to worry about previous continuity. It would make things a lot easier and less painful.
Then why do you have to mingle in the old timeline with it? What's the point of the reboot if you acknowledge the previous universe exists? I mean, that way it's not a reboot! It means you just use the genesis wave to sweep things under the rug you don't want there, and it's actually very lazy. It's lazier then 'it's magic, don't have to exp

Now, so far, if anyone is listening hear me out. Okay, we've already gone past the point where pointing fingers is already a moot option since no matter what we do, the people behind the mess of Sonic aren't going to own up because they assume that almost nothing is wrong. Well, there are some rather glaringly obvious flaws that need to be addressed because people seem to be ignoring the little things. From what I've read in the recent issues of Countdown to Chaos, most of the arc seems to be okay, save for a few smudges here and there.
First, I cannot emphasize enough that Sally is NOT. A. MARY. SUE! This is possibly one of the most ridiculous arguments against her which seem to be slowly dying since people seemed to have become focused on other matters, like her stint as Mecha Sally, or her redesign. The reason why she is even largely disliked

Now, anyone that looks at my favorites knows that I'm a HUGE SonAlly fan. But I was a SonAmy fan first and while I don't like the couple like I use to, I still like Amy and I still think they make a cute looking couple.
But the more I look at the SEGA Amy (Archie Amy has no purpose in this analysis) the More I realized something.
SEGA SonAmy doesn't work.

Anyway, as :iconarchiesoniclulz: mentioned awhile ago, the thing that angered him about Flynn's writing was the most is the cold and basically heartless attitude of the heroes towards the chaos going on in Mobius, and that I'll admit is the #1 thing that angers me too.
However, the next thing that irritates me to no end is this: Forcing certain scenarios to happen for mere shockvalue.
And let me tell you, this is one of the most irritating, if not insulting thing to see in any form of media. Now, I love intriguing story plots as much as the next person, but I want it to happen naturally, or at the very least, flow smoothly, not be shoved in like a square peg in a circle ho;e.
There are sadly too many to mention, so I'll instead mention the most glaring ones.

Sally: I absolutely do NOT like her design at all, not even one bit. I feel like that she's gonna become a stereotypical SegaSonic character. She's just gonna become apart of Sonic's cheering squad as Sonic (and Tails at times) Save the day with little or no help from the others. I have seen that some people think the brass at Sega had something to do with and most likely they did in some way. I think they are redesigning them so the are more in sync with their game comrades. That i don't like i mean the Comic itself is its own continuity and should be different from the Games. That's what made Sally, Ant', Bunnie and all of them unique: They are/were their own characters that actually saved the day or at least contributed/major role in it and now that Sega (at least we think its Sega, and after 15-20 years of letting the comic be
