1- The Creation of the Universe and the Birth of the Alicorn Gods
In the beginning, there was nothing but empty darkness. There was no time, no sun or moon, and no ponies. But one day, if you could call it a day, there was a tremendous explosion of light brighter then anything that had ever been or ever will be and out of the Light came two alicorns. The first was named Uronus and the second was named Geia. Both alicorns looked around at the space the Light had made and both set forth to explore this universe. Uronus created the abstract side of the universe, taming the storms of magic that were leftover from the Great explosion of Light and distributing it evenly across the universe. Geia created the physical side of the universe, making meteors that turned into planets and making the stars and moons. The alicorns looked at their work and were pleased and both alicorns knew each other and by doing so begated more alicorns to wonder the universe. These alicorns were born

The morning sun rose, shining upon Ponyville. Beams of light came through the windows of the living quarters at Ponyville Library. Slowly moving across the floor until they landed on a small basket in the middle of the room, containing a small purple dragon named Spike.
The light woke him, and as he stirred in his bed, opening his eyes to the world, a question ran through his head, on one wall, he saw the answer indicated on a wall calendar. It was Saturday, and the day before, Friday, was crossed out. But he could still read what was well-marked in Friday's square: "Rarity's Funeral"
He stood, yawned and stretched his arms wide, recovering from a long night's sleep. He looked over at the dresser at one end of the room, and noticed a gold ring sitting on top of it. Getting out of his bed, he walked over, and examined the ring, it was exactly as he last left it, tiny fragments of the original gemstone were still lodged in

Manehattan - 9:30 PM
Scumbag: the most prolific term in my vocabulary is the word scumbag, and for good reason; almost everyone I meet in the streets nowadays is a scumbag.
What constitutes a scumbag? The signs are too long to list, but I don't need to; I know a scumbag when I see one, and the unicorn running away from me at this very moment constituted a grade-A example of what a real scumbag is.
The filthy piece of scum ran - flying almost - as I pursued him, pistol levitating near my head in a soft, dark colored glow. He sure ran fast for someone who had just had a bullet pierce his hind leg; but I had grown accustomed to this sight, as it had played out in the same form for more times that I dared count.
His ragged red robes concealed just how dangerous this piece of equine filth was, and this one was as vile as you could get: a foal-raping, mass-murdering cannibal cultist who was mere seconds away from having his brains become part of the pavement.
The cultist nearly collap

Twilight told me to do this; something about "expressing my feelings in an orderly and reserved manner." Personally, I think it's a load of baloney, considering that I'm not giving this to Ditzy anytime soon. But, she won't stop badgering me about it, so I figure, why not?
Anyways, there's something I've always been meaning to tell you; something that's been driving me crazy since I first came here years ago.
Rarity, I love you.
At first, Twilight told me that it was only a simple foalhood crush, and, for a time, I was starting to believe her. I tried to find love with other ponies; I even tried your own sister.
But, none of them could ever compare to you, my sweet. You have been in my mind ever since I first laid eyes on you before the Summer Sun Celebration. You've always been in my heart ever since you saved me from myself the day I turned into a greedy dragon.
I've always wanted to tell you what I feel, but I've been too much of a coward to do so.
And now, it's too lat

It was a quiet night in Manehattan. Well, about as "quiet" as the city that never sleeps can get.
A black-coated pegasus in his early twenties was fast asleep on a cot in the corner of an apartment complex on the southern side of the city. The wooden floors were left barren, the carpets having been removed recently. A single dresser sat on the opposite side of the apartment, with a few empty picture frames atop it. A wooden desk was placed by a window on the south wall, also with almost nothing on it. Several cardboard boxes were littered throughout the room, taped shut.
The pegasus shifted back and forth, grumbling to himself as he tried to sleep. His green mane was in a ratted mess. The noise of the hustle and bustle of the city was dimmed by the windows, but not completely silenced. The pegasus rolled onto his hooves and stretched his back. He needed to replace the cot as well.
A knock came at the front door.
"Deeth?" A mare asked on the other side. "You up yet?"

How do you start one of these stories? It's another fine day in Equestria? It's a dark and stormy night in Equestria? No, that's not right. There has to be some other way to start this story without it being a cliche. This particular story deserves an introduction more appropriate. So much occurred that just starting off with a line like "once upon a time" just seems degrading. How do I make it work? Celestia's sun was high in the sky and the citizens of Ponyville partook in their communal duties. Nope. I feel like I've read that line before...many times. Luna's moon produced a radiant glow upon the quiet Ponyville. Nah. That doesn't look right either. Oh, I got it! How about this?
Spike and Rainbow Dash were friends.
Yeah, I like it better now.
Anyway, Spike and Rainbow Dash were friends. Good friends, in fact. Besides the truth that the two were tied to the Elements of Harmony, they also had many common likes and interests. Both had a grand sense of humor, and that fact definitely ai

What was I thinking?
A star-adorned tiara plopped onto Twilight Sparkle's bed.
It all looked to so good in my head! The actual outfit even looked good! At least to me... but I'm no designer, am I?
Two oversized, star-plastered sets of earrings and bows followed.
And the whole time, I pushed her to make it. Constantly correcting her over the most minor of details, forcing her to abandon her design sensibilities, and being ungrateful about a dress that she had offered to make me for free!
That dress, cluttered with animal and constellation designs, joined her jewelry on the bed with a soft ploomf. Twilight looked at the ensemble, only now finally able to see it for the trainwreck it was.
Whew. Back to some semblance of sanity. But the damage is already done. It's my fault. I asked for this, and I got exactly what I wanted... at the expense of a good friend's image. Maybe even her career. I'm the absolute worst.
She walked out of her bedroom and d

And what can you do, if you are locked in dark, cramped chamber, surrounded by all types of magical barriers?Discord4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
You start looking for a gap.
I still remember my sweet, beautiful Nightmare Moon, so bright and so proud. She would smash these locks, break the barriers apart. Leave nothing but slightest embers of magic, which would melt into her magnificent black mane. And then, she would make night and shadow itself kneel before its true goddess. But I am not strong enough. My powers pale in comparison to those of Nightmare Moon.
The only thing I am good at - is spreading seeds of chaos. To look for contradictions and create strife and discord.
That is why I'm not fighting my barriers. No, I listen to them; I seek out the gaps between two layers of defensive magic. Cracks within the shields wh

Dawn broke slowly on Manehattan. The city was already awoken and full of noise - of course, Manehattan was possibly the one area of Equestria that never slept - but now there was the distinct sounds of hustling and bustling; morning workers piling into offices and setting up for a day's work; market stalls being constructed and furnished, laden with goods of all kinds to sell in the squares; retailers turning over the "CLOSED" signs on their shop windows and opening the doors wide to custom. Ponies of all kinds were waking in a way that was clouded over with disappointment and dread; even the weather reflected the general mood as a low mist clung to the city, sticking to buildings and splattering pedestrians with a light, irritating rain. It was Monday morning, the morning nopony likes to see.
Nopony, that is, apart from a young stallion in a high-rise apartment towards the west of the city, going by the name of Marble Star. He was an earth pony; black and white pinto in colour and rel

"Ya know, you look familiar .have I seen you around town? What's your name?" Berry asked. Her breath smelt of fruit and alcohol.
"I'm Pokey Pierce," the unicorn replied, taking another sip of his ale.
"Hokey Clearce?" the mare repeated what she thought she heard.
"No, it's Pokey."
"Alright Pokey! I won't forget it," Berry said as her body seemed to wobble on it's own. "I'm Berry Punch. And who are you?"
Pokey seemed a bit annoyed with her drunken silliness, but didn't let it show. Instead, he asked a concerned question, "Are you okay? It seems you've had a bit much to drink."
Berry had a silly smile on her face, "Oh, I'm perfectly fine. I've normally had more by this time of the night!"
"Not exactly what I meant by th-" Pokey was cut off by Berry pointing with her hoof.
"Are you going to finish that?" her eyes were focused on the glass of ale in front of the blue colt. B

At the time I thought it was a kinda neat sound - might make for a good sample to use in my next mix. Something new. Something original. Something to make the next crowd's heads turn. So I go follow it, right? And the sound picks up further as I sea

We’re losing him!
Discord tried to open his eyes, and immediately a jet of light stabbed right into his brain, slamming through his skull like an icepick. Grimacing with pain, the draconequus squeezed his eyes shut again, allowing the voices to continue echoing through his head.
I am NOT going to be the doctor who lost the Prince! Now get me another freakin’ IV bag!
Sighing, he knew he couldn’t keep this up. The ponies were probably super worried at this point. They were stupid like that: worrying about a being who, not two years ago, had plunged their world into a chaotic hell for his own entertainment. Then again, they could just be worried about how their pretty little princess might react to being told her special somepony was six feet under. Heaven knows he’d be scared out of his wits in that doctor’s shoes.

First off, thank you for the cookies you sent over; they were delicious, as always.
Everything's been so quiet lately. It's almost as if there was no war going on. My friends (yes, you read that right) and I have been spending most of the time playing cards and singing songs from home. Once in a while, a shot might be heard at one point, but then silence follows.
It turns out that Sea Shell is also part of my unit. You remember Sea Shell, don't you? That colt that loves collecting shells down by the beach back home? Last night, he showed me part of his collection that he brought with him. They were beautiful, their design so simple yet so stunning.
There's this other pony in the unit; his name's Farce Tale. He doesn't really talk too much. Mainly, he just stays away from our group and writes in his little notebooks. Some of us tried to talk to him, but he always ignores us and continues his writing. Sometimes I wonder if he even has any friends.

Much as it did at the palace, the sun began to rise as light sweapt slowly across all of Canterlot. Living among the mountains, it took a bit longer than usual for the sun to shine upon the small town sometimes, while other times the glorious city was the first among the many lands to touch sunlight. With the morning coming, many of the townsfolk began to wake up for the day, just around the same time the Queen herself was waking up her daughter.
Despite the setting of over thousands of years old, much of the city retained the same look as it did in the present. While the buildings may not have been as large as they were within the current timestream, save for the castle which was as glorious as the present's, it still retained it's clean and beautiful structures. Being in the time of old, Canterlot was currently the only full-city-structured place in all of Equestria. While some areas within Equestria had small towns and villages, none of them were as populated, or large, as Canterlot

The sun poured through the drawn drapes of the small, cottage bedroom, illuminating everything in its short radius with a dim light. The room was still somewhat dark, but if a pony needed to, they could easily make their way through it now. Rainbow Dash grunted, slowly rising up from the bed and rubbing her head. She licked her chapped lips and stretched out, her joints cracking in complaint. She shook out her mane and lay back on the bed, wishing for sleep to imprison her within its relentless grasp once more. Sadly, after a short period of time it was obvious that she was awake and it was going to stay that way until the sun set again. The blue pony rose once again, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes and observing her surroundings. The room she found herself in looked exactly the same as it had the previous night, and with it came back the pleasant memories as well. She smiled, checking the side of the bed adjacent to her, and when her eyes fell upon wha

A certain pegasus flew back into Ponyville to find the entire town completely deserted. She flew all around, obviously checking the homes of her friends. Twilight’s Golden Oaks Library was all books and no ponies, every dessert in Sugarcube Corner was left untouched by Pinkie Pie, Sweet Apple Acres had no work of Applejack’s done, the Carousel Boutique had no Rarity for all those dresses, and Fluttershy’s cottage didn’t have a single living thing even living there.
Once Rainbow Dash checked everywhere else, she did find one caped figure standing in front of the town square. Next to the figure was a life sized statue of Rainbow Dash, but it was wearing a helmet, a red cape with a golden zipper, red strap on and a cloud making a yellow lightning bolt on it, and four golden gauntlets with tiny white wings for each hoof of the statue. The helmet and gauntlets were rainbow colored and had golden coverings to assure they were made of metal.
Once she flew close enough,

"I'm sorry, but I can't let you in." A large colt blocked the door to a large hut.
"But I just want to see the alicorns!" A young mare pleaded.
The colt shook his head. "No. The sister are busy right now discussing the new castle. Nopony is to disturb them." the colt firmly stated.
She brushed her pure black hoof in the dirt before frowning and turning to leave. As she did the door opened and the head of a pure white alicorn came out. The alicorn looked down and saw the young mare turning to leave.
"Oh." She looked at the mare. "Hello pony, what are you here for?"
The mare turned around at the sound of Celestia' voice. "I wanted to speak to you and Luna regarding the current state of the tribes."
Celestia raised her eyebrows. Not many ponies wanted to talk about politics before, let alone someone so young. Celestia looked at the mare, they looked like somepony who had something important they wanted t

Into the Woods Everfree
Darkened woods, don't wander away
Hold tight, hope for best
Treacherous pass over the cliffs
Watch your step to survive
In the shades of woods everfree
Danger lies by any tree
Roar of beast, manticore's rage
Terrible fate to be torn as its prey
Strength nor courage won't shield from its jaws
Tame the monster by the kindness of shy
Before their path a seething river
Mad in the woe of loss.
To pass the rapids somepony must dry
The stream serpent's tears
Grins in dark, grins of the ghouls
They were surrounded by phantom woods
"Win the fear by a cheerful laugh
Don't let horror get hold of your heart."
Time for final temptation
Offer of might and fame
"It's either us or them."
"Give up them, I'd suggest."
"My soul is not for trade

"Overruled." said the Judge "Royal family members may never, under any circumstances, be requested for a trial, even as witness, unless they do it on their own will or is authorized the Queen or Princess Celestia herself. Does the defense have any more witness that aren't of royal blood?"
"No..." the Doctor said then spoke up. "But I believe we have established enough."
Growling, the Chancellor returned to his seat and sat down. The Doctor also sat down in silence. The judge looked at the blue mare. "Jury, how do you find the defendant?"
Several ponies in the balcony rose. A tall colt in front of them all looked at his paper. "We, the jury of Equestria, find the defendant, Rainbow Dash of Ponyville, innocent of the accusations of capturing the princess."
