BoxedDolly stood in a cruel pink cardboard prison with a thin plastic wall separating her from the world outside. She saw toys moving outside her box, and saw persons making them move. They were being played with! But Dolly was in her box, out of sight and out of mind to the persons already playing. She wasn’t always stuck in a pink box with twist ties around her plastic wrists and feet trapped inside layers of cardboard. There was a time that Dolly remembered where she could even move on her own. That confused her -- how could she move on her own? Only people could do that. But that’s what she remembered, even if it didn’t make much sense. As she watched the milieu of people and dolls, a part of her plastic brain drifted away and she thought about that strange time when she could move and talk and decide things on her own.
