Warning about specialproducts2007This is a warning to people that Order Faux fur, Do not order from specialproducts2007 on ebay!
my friends experiences with them.
Their pictures were inaccurate of the fur.
and made the fur look better than it was. They acted all nice saying I could get a refund and that they'd buy it back from me. So i posted it and they did buy it, but never paid. Ignored me for a week after i sent 3 private messages asking for payment. After a week they told me they can't pay me because they are from Israel and i am from America when we are using paypal. not only that but they
ask me to contact eBay and ask eBay to help THEM with THEIR problems which sound made up.
As for me they wouldn't respond to me asking them about swatches.
also looking back at their history they use to sale SPA things, that's kinda odd.

Copyright AbuseOk, the cold hard truth here, If you put something on the internet out to the public, expect it to the inspire others. It just shows they enjoy your work and want to learn from it, that's what being a Idol is about.Copyright Abuse3 years ago in Personal More Like This
"In a recent decision of the Full Federal Court, the Court reaffirmed the fundamental legal principle that copyright does not protect ideas and concepts but only the particular form in which they are expressed. The effect of this principle is that you cannot copyright a style or technique. Copyright only protects you from someone else reproducing one of your actual artworks – not from someone else coming up with their own work in the same style."
You can become known for doing something a certain way but you can't own it, you can only own the work as a whole. The same go's for characters, if its just similar not the same copyrights don't apply, even more so if its a generic design to began with.
So people stop bother the DA staff with this nonsen

Shaving Faux fur:
For Faux fur plushie makers, You should invest in a WAHl Kennel Pro, I bought two Andis clippers, both gave out after trimming faux fur for a few min. Also Make sure to keep your Clippers oiled and cleaned after using.
I recommend trim the Faux fur first before cutting out the pattern, so if you do cut too deep you can always make a new piece to replace it before sewing your plush together. Make sure to trim with the fur pile not against it, or you will just cut all the fur off, you want to trim it not make it bald.
Keep in mind being a plush artist gets very pricey, with Faux fur some fur colors are rare and you will some

Copyright Abuse part 2Yes, style is an important part of being a Professional artist, But if you look around here on DA this isn't a very professional place.Copyright Abuse part 22 years ago in Personal More Like This
Style comes from being inspired by others, sure some comes from nature and things around us but allot comes from things we enjoy in others work.
Sometimes peoples styles will end up looking similar or the same, based on what they enjoy, dose that make them a bad artist? No! they are still doing their own thing. Besides style never stays 100% the same, its always growing and changing.
If someone is interested in trying your "style", its because they like your work, copying a style is how we developed our own over time.
DA is mostly filled with Hobbies, kids, and freelancers. These people don't really have to worry about having a original style, because they are not pros and allot of commissioners like generic anyway.

Rivals and IdolsRivals and Idols2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I personally feel that you should see people you admire/idols as a level you should strive to achieve or surpass, not think of them as gods you can never hope of ever being like.
That will only make you depressed and not strive to be great, we all have Potential as long as we have a passion for what we do.
I suggest taking a look at a person you admire the work of, an setting your self a goal to achieve that level! Make them a Rival in your mind, think of them as a person that started out just like you, but are a wee bit ahead of the game, you may have a little farther to travel on your journey of becoming better or surpassing them.
But never give up keep up that burning passion.
Line art, tracing and referencingI have been getting a few people asking to make Line-art out of my work or you know a trace of some artist piece so everyone can have a recolor of it.Line art, tracing and referencing2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Some ask, some just go ahead and do it, I'm NOT OK with you tracing someones work line for line and posting as your own for others to recolor, its a little insulting to the artist even more so if it was a commission.
Using someones else art to make bases or adoptables, is wrong and ruins the artist's original vision. There are 100's of free bases out there and cheap ones, you shouldn't be tracing work without permission for adoptable and bases.
Its ok to trace someones art for learning purposes, but it should never be posted! its even ok to highly reference peoples work for learning purposes, but don't post it! or at lest ask the artist for permission first before doing so.
I made a chart below to show the differences, hope that clears up some confusion.
Tracing and referencing chartI have been getting this in my mentions lately, where people are using my chart to justify Telling kids not to use their Style or not allowed to make a similar species or character.Tracing and referencing chart2 years ago in Personal More Like This
This post is about copying the physical art work it self, something you can actually Own!
Not used to justify you wanting to try to own things you can't, Like style, attributes, mixing of animals and god forbid Color.
I do not support such things, it's copyright abuse!
I can't teach you how to draw...I'm tired of getting this note.. I can't teach you how to draw, honestly no one can magically make you a good artist.I can't teach you how to draw...2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The most I can do it, is red-line anatomy and give you critiques, On what I personally think is right. You might have a different view since art is what you make of it, we are all open to our own interpretation but no one is 100% right.
If you really want to become a good artist, you need passion to do so, a drive to become better, study hard and hone your skills, if you don't have that, then you can never become better.
No fancy tablet, program, or expensive equipment can make you a better artist, it can help it look a little nicer yes, but the skills to make it, is all on your trail and error from experience.
IF you really want to learn how to draw, get inspired forget about fail, just enjoy it have fun with your art, Art shouldn't be work to you, it should be pure entertainment.
if your not enjoying it, maybe art isn't your t
Animal Planet (rant?) (update)Wild west Alaska, why is it on Animal planet ._. I don't have that big of a problem with hunting, but isn't animal planet a channel for the love and care of animals? Not guns and shooting them.Animal Planet (rant?) (update)3 years ago in Personal More Like This
When I first seen it come on, I had to double check my TV guide to make sure I wasn't on some hunting network.
seems to me, animal planet is getting a little too human
New info about the new animal planet.
After a 9% drop in prime time viewing in 2007, Animal Planet underwent a makeover to increase viewership. Marjorie Kaplan, president and general manage of Animal Planet Media said,
"We feel a little too human, a little too soft, a little too all-family and not powerful enough. We're being more aggressive and tapping into the instinctual nature of compelling animal content.
The channel wanted to replace its paternalistic and preachy image with a more entertaining and edgier one beginning February 3, 2008 and debuted eight new series and specials. R
