Coffee and chocolate sketchesI realised that this journal is a perfect place for sketches and other things I don't want to have in my main gallery but still don't mind showing you, guys.Coffee and chocolate sketches1 year ago in Personal More Like This
My relationship with food reached a whole new level I guess . These portraits (actually they are more like sketches, yeah, but still) are made with coffee, chocolate and syrups . Because eating food is too mainstream
Best place on the web?I wanted to share a few facts about a company that is very dear to my heart:Best place on the web?4 months ago in Personal More Like This
It's been my favourite place on the web for about seven years now. It also has some impressive little-known stats - it's the sixth biggest social network in the world. It has 28 million users. It set the standard for the user icon, and incorporated the first 'like' button. It was also, apparently, the first social network, 12 years ago.
I love it because I find it to be a wonderfully positive environment - way less haters than pretty much any site I ever invested any time in. It's supportive of creators, whatever level they are at. It encourages diversity, and doesn't judge it's users, no matter what they are into (pretty much!), writers, artists and photographers all.
It also, many people don't know, sponsored artist's alley at SDCC, keeping it in the main hall, laying down a soft carpet to spare feet, and providing padded chairs. It sponsored Tr!ckster, and the Spectrum convention. It genuinely - and I mean
MangaRecently I am working very hard on my weakpoints for climbing up to the next level of my career as manga-ka.Manga1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
To be honest, it is kind of frustrating being confronted with your failures directly, and also painful. Japanese Manga is like martial arts for those who perform it.
But, I am learning more and more, never standing still because I want to become much stronger than now!

A Pop Culture Interpretation of The Supernatural
Every culture around the world created gods and other mythical beings by mixing and matching fanged and taloned animal parts—e.g., enormous eagle heads on lions’ bodies—human beings have always seemed to need to believe there are powerful and usually quite vengeful supernatural beings lurking just beyond the candlelight.
Supernatural beings come to serve several purposes:
They kept people on the lighted path of truth and goodness, fearful of exploring beyond;
They were a reminder of the punishment we deser

The Book that Travels the WorldToday I want to invite everyone to join a wonderful project, I was recently told about it and I think it's a beautiful thing to be a part of: a book that travels the world collecting art from every place it visits. The Book that Travels the World1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
The project was started by ~Traumfaengerin-Wish with this idea: "I want to create a book that travels around the world, from one deviant to another. Each deviant can add his part to the book, a drawing, poem,a little story, photos, etc.
I want to reach every corner of the world with this book, to see how wide our network reaches, to let other people see how wide we are connected, to let them be able to touch, to hold the proof in their hands."
Two books are already traveling and a third book is on the making. 216 people already signed in, the books will visit 52 countries, and counting! Everyone is welcome to join and share some of their art with people from all over the world. Once the book is finished there's talks about getting it published!

this morning at the station..Today I had to chuckle when I saw two foreigners talking to each other at the train station.this morning at the station..1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I am sorry, usually I don't spy at other people, but they were talking very loudly (compared to japanese people) that it couldn't be over-heared.
And I guess they thought that no-one could understand them talking in english anyway :/
Well, just they complained about the hot-humid summer of Japan, and that it is almost unbearable
I found it very funny how they complained and sweared drenched in sweat.
Well, of course it is tough, but just can't be helped.
It's Japan, too :>

There is no cosmic law that states artists must suffer many long years and demeaning day-jobs before a window of opportunity cracks open just enough to hop on through.
Fellow deviant Brian Kesinger is a case in point.
His first “day-job” in 1996—he was hired straight out of his senior year of high school—was drawing Tarzan for Disney.
Brian stayed at Disney and he considers every day there a part of his ongoing education as an artist. He most recently worked on “Wreck It Ralph,” and has become active in the story department, where he dreams up fresh narratives and new characters with fellow Story Artists and Disney directors.
But more and more, he is being recognized for his own style and own creations
