Wheatley PatternOkay! So this is my first recorded pattern, and hoo boy, it shows. I don't really do precise measurements or work with a set gauge, so a lot of what I do is just working to match pieces with each other. If this bothers you, you have my sincerest apologies!Wheatley Pattern3 years ago in Personal More Like This
On to the pattern...
This requires basic knitting skills (k, p, k2tog, and m1. If you want to kfb instead of m1, it won't look as nice, but it will do all the same) and the ability to use double pointed needles (DPNs) in the round, crochet a simple chain, and make an I cord. The crochet chain is optional-ish, taking away from it a bit, but is minor enough that it may be ignored if it is too much of a fuss. If any of these are unfamiliar, there are plenty of youtube tutorials that are very helpful! The internet has taught me nearly everything I know about knitting, and absolutely everything about crocheting.

Useful LinksI've been intending to do this for a while now XD For one reason or another I always forget.Useful Links1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I have some links of stuff you people might find useful o3ob And I wanted to share.
First of all, one of the most requested links I've had, a free (no trial) Paint Tool SAI, one of the few I own [uploaded by me]

Posemaniacs. It might seem obvious but I noticed a lot of people doesn't know about the existence of this site. It will help you a lot with anatomy.
Color Schemer. It a free website that will help you to chose an harmonious color pallet for your pics (aka a combination of colors that will actually look good XD). Once you know how to combine colors trust me, what you draw already looks way better for no apparent reason. Well, it's the color pick.
Update Regarding the New Deviation PageWe've been monitoring performance and feedback since launch of the new deviation page to A/B testing, and we wanted to provide an update in regards to how the new deviation page has been performing, as well as following-up on community feedback and response.Update Regarding the New Deviation Page2 years ago in DeviantArt Announcements More Like This
Some valid concerns were raised by the community during this testing period and, moving forward, we'll be thinking through how to best address these concerns. In the meantime, there are a few points in particular that we wanted to share with you:
More From This Artist was well received by the community, and performed exceptionally well.Deviants did not like having to scroll to find the Favourite button, and there was a noticeable difference in the amount of Favourites coming from deviants with the new deviation page compared to the amount of Favourites from deviants on the old deviation page.
Moving forward, we'll be keeping the aspects of the test that were successful (such as More From This Artist, More from deviantART, and the a

'Pull Down Heaven' Information and FAQI'm excited to finally get to work on a short comic series featuring my tiger and rat characters, Linan and Jeckle. Although this is primarily a personal project to re-examine a world that I left behind, I am sharing it because I think that a few other people may be able to enjoy it as well.'Pull Down Heaven' Information and FAQ5 years ago in Personal More Like This
Because this comic will be mainly textless, with one possible planned exception, it may prove to be difficult to follow. If you find that this is the case for you, feel free to ask questions, or draw your own conclusions. Some information will be listed below, and I will also be answering any frequently asked questions in the FAQ section.
I hope you enjoy Pull Down Heaven!
Synopsis: A tiger and a rat combine their talents to escape from an abandoned research facility and the manufactured lives that they have lived.
Genre: Science fiction/fantasy
Content Warning: Blood and violence, possibly ideologically sensitive
Themes: Rejection of societal norms
STOP, THIEF!!(Edit: Over 160,000 people have read this Journal entry already, so don't miss it!)STOP, THIEF!!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Ha ha ha, best headline ever.
Good, you opened this journal. Don't worry, no art theft shenanigans have transpired that triggered this entry. I merely want to share my thoughts on "ripping off" and "originality" with you, both as an artist and novelist who's been on the Internet for 12 years.
This is not a rant - it's strictly comical, but also educational. I'm known for my laid-back, funny and matter-of-fact attitude
I'll give you a different point of view today, because if there is something I despise more than art theft, it's people accusing others of it. Anti art theft ninjas, also known as: people who have likely not had enough science in school. They often have no compelling evidence. They often have wrong evidence (even worse). They often do it on a whim, a feeling. And they rarely do it silently, rampaging publicly instead, thus driving a witch hunt.
First of all, let me tell you something th
A government is not a nation, it is TYRANNYA government is not a nation, it is TYRANNY over the nationA government is not a nation, it is TYRANNY2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The Government is a bureaucratic system that wanna control a population, while the Nation is the population of the country itself, that shares a common past and a common culture, and have a sense of common fate
An example of a nation are the Koreans. An example of a government is the Government of North Korea, that exerts control over part of the Nation, but it is NOT the Nation. The government of North Korea OPPRESSES the Nation and does not allow it to rejoin together with the South,
It is in the best interests of the Government to wreck havoc upon the nation, insofar it allows them to exert greater control over the population, by creating more and more legislation in order to control the chaos they create. A very good example is the Government of USA creating chaos and bombing arabic countries, so that when blow-back occurs (terrorist attacks of 2001), th
Commission - Approach and Pricing GuideDo you do commission work? Do you have trouble to get customers in order to buy commissions from you? Or Are you in a dilemma to set your own "competitive" commission price?Commission - Approach and Pricing Guide2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
If your answer is "yes" to any of the above questions then you are at the right place! Today, I'll tell you (or at least give you a better idea) how to start up with your commission work and setting up the right price.
A little introduction about myself: I am a hobby-driven artist who mainly deals with CSS coding and graphics designing (now) in deviantART. As a profession I am currently employed as an online marketing professional who looks after two leading online gaming brands. I like to help people customize their pages and support them to be a better artist in deviantART.
Having given my short introduction let us first understand that why most of us face a lot of trouble to get commission work or worst, to set up the "right" price for their service.

Classic Who for "New Series only" fansI got this question from my buddy Robert on Facebook yesterday:Classic Who for "New Series only" fans2 years ago in Personal More Like This
"Any suggestions for a guy who is a diehard fan of the new series but feels overwhelmed by the idea of going back to a show of 20 plus years of episodes? I'm afraid I'll either not like them because my basis of comparison is a show made during a time when TV production values are the highest they've ever been, or, I'll love them and lock myself in a room until I've absorbed the show(what still exists) like I did with the new series (that was only 3 seasons in at the time)."
It echoed comments I've gotten from people here. So here's my answer to him, slightly edited and expanded:
Short answer: THE BRAIN OF MORBIUS; GENESIS OF THE DALEKS; THE SEEDS OF DOOM; THE TALONS OF WENG-CHIANG; CITY OF DEATH; EARTHSHOCK; THE CAVES OF ANDROZANI; REVELATION OF THE DALEKS; INFERNO (in that order) If ya wanna just dip your toe in the water, try those nine. I REALLY recommend starting with something like THE BRAIN OF M
