Community: Intro to Animation is a fan made animation and a tribute to one of television's most clever and experimental comedies, Community. Splicing together audio from "Paradigms of Human Memory" and "Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas" I created this quick gag to support one of my favorite sitcom series. Let's keep #SaveCommunity and #SixSeasonsAndaMovie trending on twitter!

I have this in my computer for a while. I wondered if someone would be interested on seeing this. So here it is.Sorry for the bad lighting and capture...I wish I had the right equipments and knowledge to record this accordingly.
The sculpture was made with some kind of oil clay.
Here is the model sheet, for some comparison: [link]
A Cake for Cherry is my senior thesis at Emily Carr University of Art and Design (2011) and my very first film.
I've never spent so much time on a project before. Took me 8 months from start to finish. Loads of blood and sweat went into this project. It was a huge learning experience and I literally went crazy (and paranoid)! XD There are a lot of things that I want to modify, change and improve in the film (like timing, pacing, shots, animation... etc.), but I did my best.
Even if I'm not truly satisfied with the outcome (there are a lot of things that I hate/love about it)... I have to move on and create new art!
Special Thanks to my family and friends for supporting me and helping me make this film possible! Without you guys, I don't think I would've survived.
Enough with my blabbering, hope you enjoy!!

As the Wonders of the Universe passes by a mysterious Red Cloud in space, they pick up a ancient and dormant virus that attempts to take over the ship. With communications cut off, they have little hope of regaining control.
Oh boy! This is a big one. This was meant to be a pretty normal sized episode, but it quickly swelled into something quite in-depth... and something we're pretty proud of. With character introductions out of the way, we're finally able to do a Wonders episode the way we've envisioned from the start. We hope you enjoy Wonders of the Universe: Episode 4, "A Cyberspace Odyssey!"

my thesis film.
the idea for this project grew from a single image in my head: a giant, brooding monster watching over a little girl outside her bedroom window. overall, i'm satisfied with it and glad i was able to finish such a large production, but i look back and i know i could've made it better. perhaps sometime in the future i'll remake it and do the story the justice it deserves. what i had planned is too heartfelt and epic for a short film.
still... my favorite aspect of the entire film is the music. once again it was composed by Derek Zhao, the man who did the score for "To The Sun". this time around we went for something more grand: a full orchestra (22 musicians i believe). the recording session was the most amazing part of the entire production and Derek did an excellent job interpreting the emotions i wanted into music.
animated in Toon Boom Digital Pro. backgrounds done in Photoshop. composited in After Effects. edited in Premiere Pro.
