Let me show you some of the stuff and see what they planned as possible content for the game.

Kinda pisses me off. Look how well designed these are? Much better than the one who made it into the game.
Very neat with the towers, the clouds and the "seesaw" on the right side.
Originally planned Parappa stage:
Looks familiar, right? It resembles the Super Smash Bros. Melee & Brawl stage "Onett", which is Ness' hometown in Earthbound. Here is a picture:
Maybe it was too much of a copy.

Improving and The Magic NibFrom time to time I'll hear questions from other artists concerning artistic pathways.Improving and The Magic Nib2 years ago in Personal More Like This
It probably stems from seeing my work over the years. Early in my career I was given a tremendous opportunity to draw the first Prophet book for Image Comics. I had years of inking experience behind me but I had never drawn a full comic book prior to that experience. The first issue sold nearly a half million copies. My first foray into penciling/inking was quite a spectacle... Looking back, it's one of the most cringe-worthy books from the 90's. That was a little over 20 years ago. When I returned to the comic book field I was a different artist thankfully. Obviously 20 years is a long time for a growth curve.
Check out some of my Journals here on DA. I delve into getting into the business and what pushed me, etc. Mostly it's just focusing on weaknesses and addressing them. Fixing what's broke or doesn't perform as well as I feel it should. Whic
R.I.P. PockyIt's really hard for me to tell you this but Pocky passed away about 12 hours ago, at 1 pm Friday Oct 25th. I lost my balance in the colony cage and accidentally step on him who was behind me. He didn't die instantly. I thought he wouldn't. He could still fly and when I put him on my hand he had started panting. When I brought him inside my house, he had a fit then died.R.I.P. Pocky2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I can't stop crying now. I feel so horrible and hate myself. I miss him so much I can't stop crying and calling his name. It's so hard to accept his death. I can still feel him everywhere. Everything in my house reminds me of him. I can't sleep on my bed because I usually snuggled with him there before we went to sleep. I can't believe he had to go away like this. I feel so guilty no matter what I try to think of, no matter what my husband said. I can't even cry as harder as I want because he will be mad.
I don't know if Pocky knew his time would be up soon. But this month he wanted to cuddle more with me. He usually a
Sketchbook Pro 6So most of you know that I'm a Sketchbook Pro user.Sketchbook Pro 63 years ago in Personal More Like This
A few days back, Autodesk released Sketchbook Pro 6, and I think this is the version that's going to make a lot of people who have YET to experience Sketchbook Pro in full, or haven't really given the past versions a chance, switch over to making it their digital drawing software of choice; heck, even their PAINTING software of choice.
We still have the cleverly-designed user interface, that makes it easy on the eyes and mind when we're brainstorming and sketching. With the handful of new tools introduced, we still have a clutter-free drawing environment, and man, there's some awesome tools this time around. I'll go down the list:
The Brush Library
The main brush toolbar itself has a click-and-drag function, allowing you to store all your often-used brushes in each of the "lanes". You then can click the button on the upper-right and then a fu

The tragedy of owning a motorcycle is that it sometimes must be “driven” instead of “ridden.” One must occasionally “drive” one’s bike to the store for a loaf of bread or to execute some other mundane activity unworthy of being a “motorcycle rider.” One is meant to ride, not drive, a bike—as it were a contentious beast forever being tamed. A bike should not be just a vehicle for the conveyance of bodies and materials. Riding should be transformative. A rider becomes one with the natural world being riven in twain by the wake of his bike’s passing. A rider becomes a living metaphor. A rid

Why I Draw Women OftenI recently got a message, and I will slightly reword it so as not to cause profane friction, nor will I state who it came from, but it read like this: "Why is everything you post regarding a woman? I think it's very sexist when the only thing you can draw are breasts and buttocks like it's the only thing in the world."Why I Draw Women Often3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Okay, so by now, if you haven't been watching me for a good minute, you know that I really like to draw women, and I like portraying the female form, usually and often in a tasteful manner. I could hypothetically end that question there and just answer "I wasn't aware everything in my gallery was a woman or had breasts and a butt" and then post a picture or two of Rai Rivet... But I'm not going to do that. I'm going to explain my stance on drawing the female form and my adoration for it.

I've often spend my time discussing the best way to handle commissions with clients and artist friends that I came to the conclusion that clarity and understanding is key.
I will divide the guidelines I work with based on 3 commission types.

Reading all 3 parts will give you the full scope as a lot of it applies to one another as well.
1. Reference board.
If you as a client have very specific characteristic features all set and done for your character it can be very useful for the artist if you'd make them a reference board of art and photos that portray these things.
The artist does not wish for a life story of your cha

We're back at Comic-Con!
Last year, our sponsorship of Artists' Alley was a huge success. We were able to provide a more comfortable environment for the artists, display their art on huge screens over the Alley, and let people attending the convention draw with deviantART muro on fantastic digital screens. We plan to do this and more in 2012 as we take on the great pleasure of sponsoring Artists' Alley at San Diego Comic-C

Best way to record yourself drawing digitallyUpdate: Added section about CONVERTING video sessions below.Best way to record yourself drawing digitally4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Quick bit of help here, because I'm not sure if everyone knows the best way to handle this if you want to record your progress while drawing in Photoshop, Manga Studio, Painter, whatever.
IF YOU ARE USING WINDOWSYou may have tried some of the screen recorders out there like CamStudio, FRAPS, or some free ones out there. You may have noticed, or had become frustrated with, the fact that many of these programs cause a significantly huge hit on your system's performance. When you try drawing in Photoshop, your tablet response comes to a screeching halt. Then you find a program that records without impacting your drawing performance -- only to find that the resulting video recorded at about 1 frame every 3 seconds. Then you tried FRAPS, then found out that 4 minutes of video resulted in a 3.2GB file. All of these are less than ideal.
A while back, I searched all over the net for a program that encoded video from my screen

For those of you who don't know: BTB is a series of journals I do where I feature amazing Lego creations from MOCers of different styles and most usually from different sites outside of Deviantart, as a way to bust the bubble some Deviants find themselves in. Remember though, its not assumed that everyone I feature is from somewhere else and that their MOCs aren't here as well. And I don't assume these MOCs are new to everyone reading, just some people, which is why I do this. So lets burst that bubble!
First off, I want to show something almost completely irrelevant to Bionicle MOCing...A Building! This one really touched the heart strings and some of you can probably imagine why.

A New Wind Lifts Storytelling
First imagined as a bedtime tale for his son by Kenneth Grahame in 1908, The Wind in the Willows has remained in the top twenty children’s stories ever since. But things have been getting weird out in the Willows, as the new comic on deviantART, Weirding Willows, will attest to.
Badger, Mole, Ratty and Mr. Toad are back… but they’re joined by Alice, Frankenstein’s Monster, Mowgli, The White Rabbit, Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny as they defend the world from the Wicked Witch of the West, Doctor Moreau, the Mad Hatter, Mister Hyde and the Queen of Hearts (not to mention the flying nightmare monkeys from Wizard of Oz.)

I just uploaded a new tutorial, the first in the series, all about making 2D tiles and tile sets for games!
Things covered in this episode:
- The anatomy of a basic tileset
- Setting up and using Photoshop's grid system for making tiles
- Using Photoshop's Offset filter to make tiles seamless
- Adapting a tiling texture into a tileset
- Some results of a finished basic tileset
- Thoughts and some opinions!
- I forgot to master the audio. Sorry if I sound just a tad muffly!

5 Career Killers“Whatever happened to that guy? The guy that drew that thing?5 Career Killers7 months ago in Personal More Like This
Comic careers are like any other career in entertainment: if you don't stay relevant and adapt to a trend, you'll eventually peak and then bottom out. But there are more things that can help end a career. Here's a list of 5 that I've been thinking about lately.
1. SOCIAL MEDIA TAKE-DOWN
The creator does something that somehow goes viral, turning his (or her) readers against him. Bad behavior at a convention, sexual harassment online, or a semi-racist Tweet made worse by bumbling attempts to correct it. Or maybe the creator gets blamed for something innocent: innocent comments taken out of context, or involvement in a controversial project that he had no say over. Whatever the case, “social media take-downs” can harm careers, leaving a permanent black mark on your career.
I imagine this one is the most common: no matter how hard you work—and no matter how much a
