man, this thing took just freaking long when i imagine that the plan was, to build this in my three weeks vacation (last year ) and meanwhile a half year is gone since i started the boosterpack
ok, i had a few breaks, one with Renamon and a few others so the pure building time was about two months but also a long time
i have to say that i don't have any clue about Gundam Wing/00/Zero ore whatever which series is called i know about the Gundams and love the mecha design (specially this one because of the wings) but never saw one part so don't bother about the name
ah, big mechas with wings i just love this shit
even the sheets where not the best (they are very pixelized) i'm totally pleased with the result but during the building and right now i can say, it's definitely not a starter model i had to modify a lot of stuff and quite every blue and grey edge is recolored to hide the folding lines but all over is was pure fun and... surely not my last Gundam model the next one is allready planned
I updated this a bit from the last time. I completely repainted the eyes with a brighter green, same with the light on his forehead, outlined that, outlined the vulcan cannons, filled in the vent on his forehead, replaced the neck entirely, and sanded down the beam saber edges. Overall, if you hadn't seen the last one, I painted a lot of the smaller details/panel lines. Original: [link]
Finished my 1/144 HG Gundam Astray Red Frame over the holidays. One of my most favorite mobile suits as I am a big fan of melee-centric suits. Had a challenge with this one as it involved 2 hard-to-work on colors: red and white (very Japanese don't you think?)

A single Genosaurer was given to the Guylos Empire’s Eisen Dragoons, who proceeded to adapt the zoid to suit their hard-and-fast tactics. The result was an incredibly fast and fearsome zoid that was as unforgiving to its pilot as it was to its enemies.
It was decided early on that a high-speed zoid had no business holding still and so, the majority of components and foot-locks for the Charged Particle Canon were removed, save for the heat vents to help deal with cooling issues. Instead, the Geno Comet’s most powerful weapon is a conventional, ableit powerful 360mm Beam Cannon mounted on its face. The 120mm rifles were also sacrificed to make room for the high-output ion thrusters. To further increase the zoid’s speed, ion pulse jets were fixed to the tail, and the zoid’s upper legs received new armor with upgraded boosters. Altogether, the new additions gave the Geno Comet not only the fastest top speed for a ‘Saurer to date, but also a flight ceiling of 100 meters. As if that were not enough, each piece of its new leg armor also sports a 70mm linear rail gun.
In addition to a new long-range arsenal, the Geno Comet received additional melee weaponry to unleash upon its enemies once it got in close; the most notable of which is the Breaker Blade mounted on its right arm. Less notable, and potentially more dangerous as a result, was a hidden, retractable laser-blade on its left wrist.
Although the Geno Comet design was represented by only a single unit, the zoid boasts a success record unmatched by any other Geno before or after it, and the test data gathered from the Geno Comet was ultimately used to develop the Storm CAS for the Berserk Fury. The Comet, or “Red Comet”, as it was affectionately known to the Dragoons, was also given a white “mask” to distinguish it from its cousin the Geno Breaker on the battlefield, as a matter of pride. This distinct cosmetic feature quickly earned the Comet its own name among the enemy Republican forces: Skull Face.
Man, it's been a while since I've made a custom zoid (as opposed to an entirely new zoid from spare parts).
I had originally rigged this custom with a massive Storm Gatling that would actually rotate when you turned the motor on . . . but that didn't mesh well when I settled on making this a high-speed zoid (too bulky).
I'm not much of a Gundam fan, but the Sinanju from Gundam Unicorn was definitely a heavy influence behind this build, with bits of Gundam Exia and Kyrios creeping in as I finished with the blades.
