Similar Deviations
before you pass judgement on this peice here, take a look at the origional variation. [link]

the observation here is not new. i seem to remember another comic with a similar phrase being used for a wedding vows. there was something more to it and that's why i made this. as i was working on it i got to thinking about what it had to say about both chairacters involved. i desided to make this duplicate of it and make a little change just to see how much the over all tone and meaning would change. and i thought about what that change says about today's society and the expectations for gender.

the symbolisim of someone playing with the heart is a bit warn out and tired. however it can still say many diffrent thigns depending on how you draw it. i suppose one might concider it a clasic.

can you tell i was starting to have relationship problems when i drew this?

damn, not enough room in the title for the question mark.

yeah, i've been sitting on this idea for a while now. i kept drawing and re-drawing it. maybe, if you're nice i'll scan all the earlyer virsions i did of this while trying to work out the poses.

what do you think of the more subdued backgroud color? should i go back to flat color or should i up the satuation or something?

edit: i brightened up the background. still not sure if it works.

i dont think i realised it at the time i made this, but this drawing was inspired by my relationship with Jenna. an ode to it perhaps. the somewhat oblivious boy and the unasuming girl who knows more about stuff than she lets on. i miss that, well i miss all of it ofcourse, but i particulary miss that.

i'm not trying to say anything about me or anyone i know with this one. it was just an ammusing idea i had a while back. the origonal doodle was fun but not quite presentable enough, so i redrew it today while at work.
