It rang loudly throughout Brennenberg and echoed across the corridors, bouncing back from darkened corners and filled vacant rooms.
My ears shot up, twitching slighting as they picked up the sounds. They taunted me as they danced along the corridor and into my ears.
I broke out into a sprint back down the corridor from where I came and sharply turned in the direction he went, remembering how he wanted to cover more ground by splitting up.
I frantically looked around, my ears twitching madly as I desperately looked for sound.
My feet flew across the crumbled floor as I ran, heading towards the souther end of the castle.
