Wanna kill yourself? Imagine this.
You come home from school one day. You've had yet another horrible day. You're just ready to give up. So you go to your room, close the door, and take out that suicide note you've written and rewritten over and over and over You take out those razor blades, and cut for the very last time. You grab that bottle of pills and take them all. Laying down, holding the letter to your chest, you close your eyes for the very last time.
A few hours later, your little brother knocks on your door to come tell you dinners ready. You don't answer, so he walks in. All he sees is you laying on your bed, so he thinks you're asleep. He tells your mom this. Your mom goes to your room to wake you up. She notices something is odd. She grabs the paper in your hand and reads it. Sobbing, she tries to wake you up. She's screaming your name. Your brother, so confused, runs to go tell Dad that "Mommy is crying and sissy won't wake up."
Your dad runs

I had just discovered this cool-looking art site called deviantART - I had even already posted a couple of pics, and every single one of the few faves they got meant the world to me.
I drew and wrote poorly, for solely myself; and didn't intend to reveal any part of my world to anyone else.
I had just committed to a real gymnastics club, and sucked big time.
I was shy and (more) introvert, with no intentions of changing that whatsoever.
I dreamt high.
Two years ago, I didn't know my life would change like this.
I didn't know I'd grow this much as an artist and meet so many amazing and inspiring people here;
I didn't know I'd stumble in school but always get back on my feet;
I didn't know I'd lose and learn to suffer the way I did, but see my efforts rewarded in so many ways;
I didn't know I'd find myself making heartbreaking decisions;
I didn't know I'd master handstands the way I do now (xD);
And I certainly didn't imagine I'd be

Advice for holding your own art exhibitionHey everyone,Advice for holding your own art exhibition2 months ago in Personal More Like This
I recently was contacted about advice on hosting a show to exhibit your work.
I thought it would be really useful thing for you guys to know this because at some point or another you will have the option to exhibit work to the public. Exhibitions are a great tool to market yourself, and your work to potential clients and art buyers.
Remember...Exhibitions should never be scary or intimidating as long as you are focussed.
Galleries, like everything else, are a business. They rely upon the custom of exhibitors to ensure their space is always looking top-notch and full of cool and interesting stuff.
I have created a few tips that can make your exhibition experiences rewarding and hassle free.
1. No Artwork – No Show
Before deciding to go through with the exhibit, an artist should always make sure their work is ready.
2. Doing it solo, or as part of a group?
One of the biggest things to ask is if you want to exhibit as a solo artist, or as part of a gro

The charming fragrance of orange flowers and other citrus flowers is filling the air in our garden ,as well as many other streets in Baghdad ,since the orange and citrus trees are so common in household gardens .
The swallows have returned . I like watching their fast movement as they fly between buildings . and I can spot some butterflies around every now and then while I walk in the morning .
Mom got some new flowers for our garden ,she bought pretty lavenders ,which I only used to see in pictures
. Now we have them in our small garden .
The weather ,on the other hand ,is so moody . One day it's too hot like summer ,the other day it can rain .
I love flowers ,and there are so many flowers that I only see in pict

Rules:
1. For each of the 10 first people commenting this journal, I will put their avatar and the 3 deviations I like most from their gallery on the list!
2. If you comment, you have to do the same in your journal, putting the tagger on the first place. The idea of this is not to get a free feature, it is to spread art around for everyone!

Writers' Feature W.2It's time for another Writers' Feature ^^ Remember, I only feature those who I believe truly deserve it and I've actually read and commented on their works. I do it this way, so I can talk about their writing from experience and knowledge of how they write to help promote them in the best way I can. Also, if you wish me to critique your work, I'm still offering that. Though I have been busy randomly lately, I will get to it. Also, Diaries is now being posted with a new chapter every Monday and Thursday like before. So go check that out if you haven't already, and I'll be posting Aaron & Lance p.1 A tomorrow. So, until then, check out these amazing people belowWriters' Feature W.23 months ago in Personal More Like This

Eid Mubarak 1433AH / 2012CEHey everyone,Eid Mubarak 1433AH / 2012CE9 months ago in Personal More Like This
May all of you have a Blessed Eid Day, and may all your fasting, prayers and good actions be accepted!
If your Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Humanist, Atheist or anyone else. I hope you have a pleasant day. A joyous occasion should be shared by all!
May we all attain happiness and guidance in this life and the success in the next!
What is 'Eid?
In the effort of bridging gaps of misunderstanding, please accept this explanation from me as a gesture to create better understanding. I hope you benefit from this little anecdote!
There are two Eid or large celebrations that happen throughout the Muslim lunar calander, 'Eid ul Fitr and 'Eid ul Adha. 'Eid ul Fitr is the celebration that happens on the 1st day after the month of fasting, Ramadan, is completed. 'Eid is said to be a gift or present from God that is for those who fasted, people aren't allowed to fast this day and the community is assembled for the Eid prayer. Ramadan was t

Done with Bleach. (Spoilers for chapter 502)Yep. Kubo killed off Byakuya apparently in Bleach 502. So, thanks. I'm done with Bleach. I've come to love his character so much and since you've killed off Sasakibe, Izuru AND Byakuya, I'm done. I'll read the last chapter (after several mpre years of this BS) and see who does live. But Kubo has lost my support forever. Unless Orihime can magically heal him, or Unohana decides to FINALLY show us her bankai and heal him. Unless Byakuya comes back, I'm gone. Simple as that. Got it Kubo? I'm fucking done with you. You've crossed the line and at least 2/3 of your fans aren't happy. This how you want to go out in your final arc? You're gonna finish it with no fans. Cause you just lost at least 4-5 today that I know from this chapter alone.Done with Bleach. (Spoilers for chapter 502)10 months ago in Personal More Like This
All Words Fit to Print.Writers played a crucial role in our Original Quotes T-Shirt Design Challenge, as we challenged the community to create a unique t-shirt displaying an original phrase in a beautiful style. We were not disappointed! Your quotes were imaginative, and your designs were artistically presented. After much deliberation and heated debate, the winners have been selected!All Words Fit to Print.11 months ago in Personal More Like This
Thousands of deviants submitted great designs to the Original Quotes T-Shirt Design Challenge category, but there can only be three winners. Judges `TheRyanFord, $Ikue, and $techgnotic were charged with the extremely difficult task of narrowing down the top 50 designs, as chosen by deviants, to pick two of the winning designs. The third winning design was then selected from all of the entries.
So, without further ado, we give you the three winners of the Original Quotes T-Shirt Design Challenge
Cold Hard Facts About Making ArtHow is everyone doing?Cold Hard Facts About Making Art1 year ago in Editorials More Like This
I hope you guys are okay.
I just want to share some advice about creating art for the online community.
Making and posting art online is a great way for someone to learn skills and build confidence in a relatively safe and amateur setting. However like all beautiful countryside's, there is an ugly cow taking a huge dump in the middle of it or nuclear plant spewing its toxic waste all over it.
So here my cold hard facts about making art -
1. Don't waste inspiration
If you find the inspiration for a great idea, get it on paper immediately. The problem with inspiration is that one day it hits you like a speeding truck and the next day, just as quickly, it goes away. Don't be afraid - Enjoy the inspiration when you have it!
2. People will steal your art.
When you put your art online, everyone will assume they have the right to it. They'll put it on their blogs and they'll try to pa

I'm in Egypt!!Archaeology study tour has sent me to Egypt!!I'm in Egypt!!1 year ago in Personal More Like This
So I arrived a couple of days ago, my first day wasn;t too fantastic, a bit of an issue with my luggage, it didn't get to Egypt with me, then my second day I spent at the airport waiting for my bag to arrive (Thank God I have it now safe and sound) so today was our first day of actual study tour-ness, we went to the pyramids of Giza, its MASSIVE, and then Saqqara at noon (when its REALLY hot) then we trudged back.
So far EVERY single Egyptian person that I've met has told me 'Your face is 100% Egyptian' or some form of that. Apparently I do not look like my real nationailty, I look like a native, so much so that while waiting outside the Great Pyramid, a random tourist came up to me and asked if she could take a picture with me and proceeded to do so while I was asking her the key question: WHY in the world would you want to do that? I'm as much as a tourist as you. But too late, she had the picture taken as I told her: I'm not Egyptian.

love with your whole heart, no if's, and's or but's,
it's okay to love him with all of your heart, just don't make him your whole world,
because some people grow together, and some people grow appart,
If someone isn't good to you, don't take it personally,
each person is responsibile for only there own actions,
nothing is personal, so take nothing personally,
for every person who doesnt like you, there will be another who does,
Have your own set of morals, and never sway from them,
some one elses opinion is just an opinion, stand true to yourself,
others arent always right, but neither are you,
when you do something wrong, say sorry, but not unless you mean it,
People in your life come and go, some are meant to stick around,
when someone leaves, it's only the end of that one journey,
and always the start of one to come,
do not dwell, all you have is to move forward,
Smile, but when you want to cry, cry it out!

Literary Compass - Vol. 8WelcomeLiterary Compass - Vol. 81 month ago in Literature More Like This
If one is looking for Literature, you don't need to go far on deviantART. There is a large community of writers and a plethora of work to peruse. Featuring genres such as fantasy, mystery, horror, and romance, one would be hard-pressed to find an area not covered. However, due to the nature of the site, shorter works tend to get more focus. It's easier to quickly read a poem or a short story, and thus many of the feature articles on dA showcase those works. However, there are many novelists and serial writers among the mix, oftentimes fighting an uphill battle to have their works seen and appreciated.
With that in mind, I have started an article to spotlight some of those artists and their literary-worlds. The works covered in this feature will exclusively be long-form fiction such as novels, trilogies, etc., or fiction serials.
