Scratched expletives
And peeling doors.
The scent of dust,
Disinfectant,
Long lacquered wood,
And cheap perfume.
This was your world.
It was tired,
And getting on a bit,
But affectionate.
Anonymity was just a word,
And you were safe,
Thinking it would never end.
It's gone now, what was yours.
Dug up and rethought,
Shiny and new.
They've ripped it all away,
The stage and the walls.
But please remember,
It was just brick, tile and mortar,
Its heart still beats,
Dusty, yet glorious
And forever yours.

Death Will See You NowI'd like a holiday,Death Will See You Now11 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
A pool in Dubai
Or a weekend in Paris.
Nothing fancy.
But you watch,
Someone will drown
Or choke on a baguette,
And I'll have to do some overtime.
No, I'm not a doctor,
These aren't healing hands,
Quite the opposite.
Do you know when you plan
To kick the bucket?
It's just I'd rather you made
An appointment.
I can pencil you in
For Saturday
At half past nine.
That's not too early for you is it?
No, you can't cancel.
But I assure you
A spring funeral
Is always lovely.

And we hurt in different ways.
Let's agree to disagree,
On my flaws, and on yours.
On occasion we were a storm
And more often than not
We rained on our parades.
But then we drowned in the dust,
In the ashes of quick remarks
And shades of misunderstanding.
I do not apologise, and nor should you,
For I am me and you are you
I wish you the very best,
And hope you remember me,
In the days of new black
And silly midnight secrets.

To Be HumanIn this world,To Be Human10 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
Their are many whom enjoy solitude,
but their is no one in this entire world,
who can bare solitude,
for no matter what happens,
we must depend on other,
and let others depend on us,
for that is what it means to be human.

It's very beautiful over there.
And Mr Barrie said: I can't sleep
Before he dreamed his way to Neverland.
And seventy-four years later,
When it was Mr Jobs' time to go
He said Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow
Before he left this world.
Let's go and see the other side
And touch the clouds with our lost lives.
But maybe there's just plain old darkness,
That's familiar even though it's cold.
Mr Darwin said he was not afraid,
And Ms Austen asked for nothing but it
The revolution that was Mr Marx said:
Last words are for fools who haven't said enough.
And no they didn't, they never said enough.

Terror of the Red WorldTerror of the Red World:Terror of the Red World1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
When we first came to conquer Mars
We uncovered a darkness sealed in stone.
For endless years it waited here
On the world that we would call our own.
Through the darkest days the evil festered
Becoming a womb where the demons spawned...
And by the time we learned of them;
We were forced to greet a bloody dawn.
Men and structures
Torn apart.
Corpses lay
Like foetid art...
A horrid chant
Resounded still.
On chilling winds
That broke our will...
Awaken, Awaken, Awaken, Awaken
She who sleeps beneath the sand.
Awaken, AWaken, Awaken, Awaken
Queen who was made to rule this land.
Awaken, Awaken, Awaken,

My Unbroken Hero
I didn't want you to stoop so low
Though your gentle grip was amazingly tight
I thought you were eventually going to let me go
But I finally realized you were holding on to me for dear life
My gratitude does not out-weigh my guilt
For I don't know what it's like to remain strong
Every time I try and stand up I always need to be held
So I know a person cannot keep that tough-act up for long
I wish the tables can soon be turned / my hidden courage needs to be found
The hope you gave me will be returned / to stop your tears from hitting the ground
I know your smiles are forced sometimes / you always have to watch your
