I'm a regular reader of Escher Girls, so when I read the latest post this morning, I was deeply concerned. The following post was submitted to Eschergirls and was not made by me. The artist is Selkiesiun
I DID NOT DRAW THIS PICTURE. :iconselkiesiun: DID. THIS IS A QUOTE OF HER EXPERIENCES.
I AM ONLY RELAYING THE INFORMATION.
Selkiesiun submitted to Eschergirls:

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the broken relationships between men and their razors. Donning their mustaches, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men's health - specifically prostate cancer.
Since its humble beginnings in Melbourne, Australia, Movember has grown to become a truly global movement inspiring more than 1.9 Million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas to participate with formal campaigns in Australia, New Zealand, the US, Canada, the UK, South Africa, Ireland, Finland, the Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, Norway, Belgium and the Czech Republic. In addition, Movember is aware of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas supporting the campaign and men’s health cause across the globe, from Russia to Dubai, Hong Kong to Antarctica, Rio de Janeiro to Mumbai, and everywhere in between.
No matter the country or city, Movember will continue to work to change established habits and attitudes men have about their health, to ed
The Beginning of MangaNarrative in art has been seen for centuries in a wide range of different forms. Now I should start off by saying the 'true origins' of manga is disputed. World War II accelerated the world of comics and manga. However we'll take a look at what has been going on before global conflict changed everything. We'll start with the actual name itself, manga, meaning 'whimsical pictures'. So this is the nature of it, satire, doodles, sketches, exaggeration and humour. The first time this term was used to describe a piece of artwork in Japan was given to Hokusai Manga (first published in 1814). So there is the term itself, but going a bit further back is where it's real history becomes debatable. The Beginning of Manga1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
Manga started around 12-13th century, the Japanese Fujiwara Period. Animal caricatures known seen on picture scrolls are an early form of narrative. They show mischief and fun doodles, and they are actually an early example of Japanese art that is breaking away from their Chinese

I started this morning by signing something "Moonbam13" so either this typo means I need more coffee, or this week is going to be BAMTASTIC!
I'm rooting for the latter
I wanted to post a quick update on changes to Daily Deviations. It is important to note that these changes have not been hard-coded so my team is manually following these new guidelines. This means that errors can and likely will occur until the coding is complete, your patience and understanding is appreciated
The following guideline changes are in effect:
The 3-month rule is now the 6-month rule, meaning that it must be at least 6-months since the last time an artist received a daily deviation. (This was an overwhelmingly popular suggestion from the community and I agree, it's a good one!)
Daily deviation selectors may only select one daily deviation per day maximum. This has been put in place to focus on Quality vs Quantity.

To the Literature Community of deviantART
Dear Lit Community,
My name is Steven Pacheco. I am a writer who has been proud to be a member of the Literature Community here on deviantART for almost four years now. During my time here I have been honored and privileged to get to know many of you, to immerse myself in your work and to share my own work with you. I found deviantART during a time when I was struggling to find my writing again after a long break away from it. It was through this community that I was able not only to find my writing again but, in my opinion, to have sharpened it. I am by no means the greatest, but I am proud to say that I believe it has been my time on this site and as a member of this community which led me to finding my literary voice.
After a short period of time, during which I acclimated myself to this community, I began to make connections. I have discovered amazing friendships, established

This activity is part of my year-long project to address complaints from the dA community. January's complaint is Daily Deviations!
"I find that the DD system needs to be expanded. Why? Sadly, it has become the only major channel on this site for artists and writers to receive exposure, and the selection choices are limited. On my journal, =Flyvapnet wrote that '[i]t smacks of a good-old-boys system, wherein Deviations are considered for recognition only if they're suggested by those who have an in-crowd relationship with someone in the award-giving hierarchy'. There are great artists out there who don't have any exposure simply because they can't get DDs, and the selections are biased: for example, they almost never include parts of novels. Offering more artists this exposure would help DA with what

Inspiration: What Did Princess Ukok Look Like?Found here at the Mary SueInspiration: What Did Princess Ukok Look Like?1 year ago in Personal More Like This
The mummified remains of "Princess" Ukok, as the scientists named her, was discovered nearly twenty years ago in the Altai mountain range in East-Central Asia. Kept for all that time in Novosibirsk, Russia, it was not until very recently that she's been revealed to the rest of us. But among the general wonder and fascination that always comes with finding mummified and ancient bodies, Princess Ukok has another: She's covered in remarkably preserved, completely badass tattoos.
People have been tattooing themselves and each other for almost as long as humanity has existed; it just seems embedded in human nature to adorn our bodies in one way or another, whether through cheap drugstore eyeshadow or ancient ritual inking.
Princess Ukok and her warriors are believed to be members of the Pazyryk nomads who existed as early as the 5th century BC when they were

PE Interview with DD Suggester Minato-KushinaAs part of Daily Deviations PE week we have interviewed the lovely `Minato-Kushina who has been suggesting DDs since November 2010. She has since then had over 500 suggestions accepted and as a result of her regular suggestions, made her name known on the DD page.PE Interview with DD Suggester Minato-Kushina1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
What first got you interested in wanting to suggest DDs?
I don't really remember the exact point when I started paying attention to DDs. I guess, I saw these beautiful pictures at the bottom of my page. Gradually, I understood that they were a kind of "award" for outstanding pieces. I was also wondering how some people could suggest DDs! By searching here and there, I found the way.
I eventually decided to send my first suggestion to ^rydi1689, the then Fan Art Gallery Moderator. She is so kind, she accepted it immediately! This encouraged me to suggest more and eventually to love this task. I am generally shy with others. So this gesture, although it may seemed normal to her, it was

On Wednesday morning Kickstarter was sent a blog post quoting disturbing material found on Reddit. The offensive material was part of a draft for a "seduction guide" that someone was using Kickstarter to publish. The posts offended a lot of people — us included — and many asked us to cancel the creator's project. We didn't.
We were wrong.
Why didn't we cancel the project when this material was brought to our attention? Two things influenced our decision:
The decision had to be made immediately. We had only two hours from when we found out
PE Feedback: ...But I don't know what to say?Critiques: What to say when you don't know what to sayPE Feedback: ...But I don't know what to say?1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
All of us have heard about feedback events during our time on deviantArt. Many of us have participated in them, while others have declined to do so for various reasons. Some of these reasons include fear of receiving critique on one's own work, fear of being attacked for critiquing someone's work, fear of not knowing what to say, and feeling inadequate to critique a deviation from someone who is perhaps more skilled than we are--especially if the deviation is created using a medium to which we are unaccustomed.
We especially want to focus on this last reason.
Here is a conversation that we had recently in a dA chat room (names have been changed):
Us: We are planning a cross-medium, dA-wide critique event for Project Educate!! Will you participate?
DeviantX: Hmm. I don't know.
Us: Why not?
DeviantX: I'm a photo

Welcome to Feedback Week! This week is being brought to you by a team of very devious deviants over at #FeedbackFrenzy.

Reasons to Love dA's Lit Community: Part 1
I love the literature community because it helps my writing and I also love to read what other people write and the ideas they come up with.
I love the literature community here on dA for various reasons, and one is that they are always supportive when you need some support or help. They always seem to be willing to give advice when it is asked for, or to just talk literature in often. Literature is one of the most powerful forms of art with the capability to shape the world and our cultures as we know it. Even t
Project Educate: Photographing Infants + ChildrenPhotographing infants and children can either be really painful and frustrating, or incredibly fun and rewarding. It depends entirely on the child. I kid, sort of. It's what you make of it and how you treat the moment. Children are fast, sometimes moody, sometimes hyper and nearly always think they know what you want them to do when you turn the camera on them. Either run, or crack that huge fake camera smile that they've been taught to do for their school photographs.Project Educate: Photographing Infants + Children1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Don't force a smile. If the child doesn't want to smile, don't make them. You'll end up with the fake smile. However having said that, you can try and be funny, but again don't push it. They're smarter than many give them credit for. If you're not getting a smile but you're getting a rude funny face, then accept it. Those sorts of shots can be awesome as well.
Learn to accept imperfections. Whether the children are strangers to you or not, you can't have it perfect all of the time. Messy hair,

PE Feedback Week: It's a Wrap!Hi everyone,PE Feedback Week: It's a Wrap!1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
This journal signifies the end of Project Educate: Feedback week here on dA, which was brought to you by #FeedbackFrenzy. This was truly a team effort.
We hope you enjoyed yourselves! Let's review some of the highlights of this week!
Feedback Frenzy was an activity in which all you devious people out there (164 of you, to be exact!) critiqued one another's deviations and received critique in return. It lasted an entire week. We do not know how many critiques in total were completed yet, but we do know that the lists are so long that they won't fit through the dA message system!
So, if you are trying to note us with your team's final list of critiques and the note won't go through, break it into multiple notes. Just label them something like Team No. 41 Part I & II so that we know they go together.
Final deadlines for Feedback Frenzy:
8 July 2012, 11:59 PM PST: No further critiques

We would love to hear feedback from people if they are using this! Have you entered something listed here? Have you won something? Are you actively using this? We want to ensure we are giving the community something worthwhile here- and please don't forget to add opportunities you find to the list too- the more people adding things, the better!
As writers, we always talk about “getting that piece published sometime” or “maybe submitting to a few places”, but how many of us actually eat our words and get on with it?
It was suggested that perhaps we could help nudge you guys by sharing with you the opportunities we know of. Personally, I'm not well explored, but what I do know is that the community is! Therefore this journal is a chance to share the opportunities you find.
How this is going to work?
If you find an opportunity, add a c
