Chapter 5: A Day at the Spa
Lowering herself slowly into the steaming hot tub, Fluttershy let out a long, content sigh while she sank into complete relaxation. Once she had adjusted to the rapid temperature change, she could feel every muscle in her body loosen while she closed her eyes and laid her head back. She needed a day where she could just unwind without having to worry about picking up the kids from school or anything else, and the spa was just what the doctor ordered.
“This feels more amazing every time I come here,” she told Rarity, who sat across from her. “I didn’t even realize I was this tense.”
“You never can,” Rarity replied. “It’s just the stresses of life, I suppose. Sometimes you get so busy in the chaos of the day that you forget how much pressure you’re building up inside. That’s what the spa is for!”
Fluttershy could easily agree on that. Even though it was hard to believe that they had

CHAPTER 7: Birthday Cake and Best Friends (First draft. Final version in the works)
Five more minutes until Orion's birthday party. Under normal circumstances, ponies would be expecting their guests to be fashionably late, but those ponies obviously never met the Pie family. Looking at the clock, Andromeda knew that the moment the large hand hit the "12," Berry and Cherry would be at the door.
They couldn't help themselves. Partying was in their blood as well as their upbringing. Andromeda figured any filly raised by Pinkie Pie would be that way. Waiting at the door, Orion and Andromeda smiled and readied to scare their friends in an unexpected welcoming. The twins were renowned for their sneakiness and pranks, so it was time they pulled one on them. Time slowed down as the final seconds inched their way up the clock's face. When the last second hit, the two unicorns threw open the door.
"Gotcha!" they yelled in unison before settling down at the empty sight in front of them.

CHAPTER 11: Shelter (First draft. Final version in the works)
The sun continued to rise slowly in the morning chill and the frigid draft of the wind blew through the apple trees of the Apple family. The rumble of thunder echoed in the distance while it whistled around Radiance, making her want to curl into a tight ball. She couldn't hear anything, open her eyes, or move more than a little, but she could feel the bitterness of the breeze down to her bones. Her body shivered and her mind could not think of anything but the cold, as if ice had frozen her in place. Slowly, her senses began to return, and only when the crackle of a small fire could be heard and felt did she relax. Her heavy eyes opened narrowly, watching the blurred movements of the amber sparks in front of her. Their dim glowing air patterns danced before her before rising up into the air and disappearing in the small plume of grey smoke. A figure poked at the smoldering wood, keeping it alive and preventing the w

Chapter 6: Swords and Spells
Andromeda sat in her room alone, reviewing the final draft of her work for the tenth time. For several months, every word, formula, and footnote had been analyzed to the most minor detail, but she continued to hover over it. She knew that this kind of obsession was unhealthy, but there was something inside her that compelled her to keep going, like a whisper in the deepest part of her mind.
In the old scrolls that she had found seemingly forever ago, the work of Twilight Sparkle laid before her, daring her to do better and live up to the expectations the world had for the daughter of an Equestrian legend. No matter how hard Andromeda worked to become a respected scientist, it was never enough. In the Academy, many resented her for her relationship with heroes and royalty, and most of her colleagues said that she had only been inducted because of her connections rather than her intelligence and skill. Even her own professors seemed unfair in their

CHAPTER 10: Cutie Mark Criss-cross (First draft. Final version in the works)
Bucky's eyesight remained blurry as he looked around, desperately hoping to find something or somepony who could help him. He was in a room of some sort, but felt too nauseous to tell whose it was. His chest heaved with difficulty with each gasp of air becoming more shallow than the last while something clung tightly on his throat. His hoof grasped his neck to feel his Cutie Mark Crusader's cape. He had forgotten that he had put it on, but now it was choking him. Grasping at the knot, he tore it off, flooding oxygen into his lungs. He coughed loudly and painfully, gasping for a while before he sunk his head back to the cold floor. Taking the moment to catch his breath, his green eyes darted around, searching his surroundings. He was inside a small warm bedroom, not the cool basement where he once was. Stuffed animals surrounded him from all sides, their glass eyes watching his every move and motion an

CHAPTER 4: High Fliers
Orion and Bucky looked up into the deep blue sky in amazement as the last ripples of the rainbow shockwave slowly dissolved high above them, their vivid hues shimmering in a dazzling spectrum before their very eyes. Though both colts had grown up knowing very well what a sonic rainboom was, their familiarity with the great spectacle still never ceased to amaze them. Before the last waves of light finally faded into the azure atmosphere, one more echo of powerful thunder roared around them, as if announcing its departure. Even after the sky returned to normal, the two colts continued to stare upward with a sense of intrigued wonder.
"Was…that," Orion stammered, still in shock, "a sonic rainboom?"
"Yeah, but it was huge! Ah've never seen a one that powerful before!"
Looking at each other with wide grins, they raced past Rainbow Dash’s home and towards the far away woods to see what was happening. Though the phenomenon was nothing new to the ci

Chapter 14: Things Get Complicated (First draft. Final version in the works)
Radiance's sapphire eyes bagged from lack of sleep as the sun's orange rays shone through the windows and cracks of the Apple family barn. Rest had eluded her all night thanks to the mix of pain from her broken leg and the vivid activity in her spinning mind. As she watched Bismarck's orange chest rise and sink slightly with quiet breaths, she continued to wonder to herself if this was all just a bad dream. So much had been happening to her that she felt like she couldn't even begin to cope. Within a day, she had gone back in time, broken her leg, gotten caught in a violent storm, possibly lost two of her best friends to that storm, and now the one who wouldn't turn back to find them was sleeping across from her. Pure anger burned inside her at the thought of Bismarck leaving Berry and Cherry to die. Everything in her wished she could stop him.
"How could you?" she asked aloud, knowing he couldn't hear

CHAPTER 3: Country as Apple Pie
Beads of sweat poured down Bismarck's orange coat and chestnut mane as he made his way through the spanning acres of the Apple family orchards and gazed at what he considered the most beautiful place in all of Equestria. Having been working since the crack of dawn, he watched in admiration as the emerald and ruby hues of the apple trees began to glow a bright orange with the rising sun until the slowly approaching afternoon brightened the world around him.
Though the morning air was still somewhat crisp, the heat was greater than usual. Pulling the tip of his hat down to cover his eyes, the rugged stallion faced away from the apple tree, reared back, and kicked it with a tremendous force. A loud boom sounded from the shaking trunk and seemingly echoed through the orchard while vibrations from the impact shook the tree like a maraca until every single crimson apple fell towards the ground and into a large wooden barrel at the base.

CHAPTER 13: Twins in Time (First draft. Final version in the works)
Berry Pie woke up in a panic and jumped to his feet. Cold sweat and rain ran down his body with light drips onto the wooden floor. Looking down at his twin sister sleeping safe and sound beside him, he relaxed his tense shoulders and breathed a sigh of relief. He had almost forgotten where they were until his mind fully adjusted to consciousness again. There were in the Apple farm treehouse.
How they had made it here, he couldn't remember, but at this point he didn't care as his sky-blue eyes scanned his slowly darkening surroundings. The room was full of crayon-drawn posters in a stack, a picture frame, and various other things. This did not look like the setup Berry knew as a colt or saw recently, reminding him what Bismarck said about how they had traveled back in time.
If there was any proof, the pictures and drawings of and by Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, and Apple Bloom in the room confirmed it. He approach

Chapter 17: Dejection and Darkness (First draft. Final version in the works)
Deep inside the Everfree Forest, far away from all civilization, the thundering echoes of magic roared over the ambient chirps of the hidden wildlife surrounding Andromeda and silenced their calls. Sweat poured down her forehead in icy streams as she breathed heavily. Her eyes were bloodshot and her legs felt weak underneath her exhausted body. Every ounce of her might was being channeled into her spell, but it continued to defeat her again and again until the resolve to use magic began to shatter inside of her.
“No, no, no!” she said aloud, shaking her head. “It has to work! It just has to!”
Dirt and moss covered her hooves as she shifted them into a braced position. Slowly, her horn began to glow from a bright yellow to a blinding white. A massive gust of wind blew everything around her like a small hurricane while sparks of blue electricity shot from her horn as usual. E

CHAPTER 9: Welcome to the Past (First draft. Final version in the works)
Zecora's eyes snapped awake and her body jerked from the sound of twigs snapping outside of her house, nearly making her fall out of bed. Twilight and her friends visited often but she was not expecting visitors at sunrise. Whatever was outside was either trying to break in or was in need of help. Getting up, the zebra made her way to the door slowly, ready for any intruder who may cross her path. Anything could be in the Everfree Forest and she was too smart to take chances. Listening carefully, she could hear voices outside.
"Yes, Flora, I think we are in the past." a voice whispered in mid-conversation. "Whatever my brother did, it caused a chain reaction that sent us all through time."
"But how far back?" a small squeaky voice asked. That one must have been "Flora."
"Look at the decorations around the hut. My mom said she donated some of these masks to a museum because they were significant artifacts.

CHAPTER 8: Take Me Back (First draft. Final version in the works)
Orion had run into the basement very quickly, confusing his guests. Bucky and Peach Cobbler both knew that when it came to Orion, trouble usually followed things like this. Whatever was going on in his head was most likely worth seeing, so the two Crusaders chased their friend into the former-lab. Where the basement once was the headquarters for Twilight Sparkle's scientific discoveries, it was not used as much as it once was and had now become more of an archive of data and experiments rather than an active station. Its purpose, however, did not alter the feeling of wonder and amazement the two ponies always experienced when rummaging through them. Shelf after shelf was filled to the brim with books of many colors and sizes and countless documents laid organized in drawers and bins before them. Regardless of the room's organization, there was not as much space left, but Twilight always refused to get rid of any

CHAPTER 12: Field Day Fiasco (First draft. Final version in the works)
Bucky, Orion, and Peach Cobbler were in a situation now. Not only had they inadvertently sent themselves and possibly their friends and family back in time, but now they were on the brink of erasing their own existences. Not only had they already run into the original Cutie Mark Crusaders, but now they had been invited to join them in the annual Ponyville Field Day. Bucky especially felt the pressure of secrecy thanks to his relation to Apple Bloom. Alone for the moment as Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle left to train for the event, the new CMC began to discuss just how deep in trouble they were.
"Of all the ponies in all the world," Bucky muttered, "I walk into mah aunt."
"We've got to be more careful, guys!" Peach added. "If we run into our moms the same way as we did with these guys..."
"We can kiss our flanks goodbye." Orion said, finishing her thought.
The three were in agreement. They could

Chapter 15: Saviors and Secrets (First draft. Final version in the works)
Bismarck took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. His eyes wandered around the large interior of the barn and, for the first time, remembered. Despite the horrors of the storm, the situation of the unexpected time travel, the injuries, and the mounting tension between him and his best friend, he was home. Somehow, deep inside, this place calmed him. Sweet Apple Acres was his sanctuary and no other place in the world could replace it. Even as a foal, he loved Ponyville in a way few others did. Looking across the barn, he could see things had probably not changed much in the past twenty or so years. It was nearly exact same as it was in the future. Reality returned to his focus once more and weighed on him in the form of a heavy sigh when his gaze met Radiance's. The white unicorn now lay on the ground, back turned to him. Bismarck got up.
'Ah wish this situation was just a bad dream,' he thought, 'but it isn

Chapter 16: I know whose tears would come down to me (First draft. Final version in the works)
Rain poured mercilessly in the deafening wind while three young foals slept inside the small chicken coop. The storm's might was ferocious, its malice unforgiving as even the rising sun itself seemed to hide out of fear of the great power of nature and shone only scarcely through the dismal blanket of the intimidating clouds. The heavy gales rattled the miniature house violently while the great boom of thunder shook the sleeping children to the bone. Inside their rickety shelter, Orion and Bucky slept side-by-side, huddled together to keep warm, their crusader capes shielding them from the cold. Their minds were blank, deep within the sleep they needed so badly. Time travel seemed to affect the very life force of all three of the Crusaders as they each found themselves too exhausted to even notice the rampage of the storm. None of them slept in peace but all remained unconscious. Out

CHAPTER 2: Orion's Big Day
From the moment the first rays of sunshine flowed through his bedroom window, Orion Sparkle woke up without a single ounce of hesitation, threw off the warm covers that enveloped him, and jumped out of bed. The room was cold and the world outside looked even more frigid, but instead of returning to the toasty embrace of his dreams, he only felt more awake than ever. His sister Andromeda often joked that it would usually take nothing short of magic to pull him out of the peaceful comatose he called sleep, but this was no ordinary day.
Life and enthusiasm rushed through his body in great vigor this morning because today was his birthday. Even more important, though, was its significance. All night long, he dreamed of finally getting his cutie mark and showing it to his friends. The “oohs” and “aahs” still reverberated in his mind as he rushed to a mirror, unable to contain his excitement any longer. With a quick turn, he spun hi

CHAPTER 1: Andromeda's discovery
Scattered pages and dusty old books filled the study in a cluttered mess as Andromeda Sparkle slept among the debris of her own handiwork. Unconscious after a long night of work, her mind only left dreamland when the amber beams of the rising sun shone on her face. With a groan, she slowly rose to her feet, heavy eyelids still drooping. Various loose documents clung to her face as she stood, unnoticed by her until their delicate forms slipped from her lavender cheeks and fluttered towards the blanket of weathered volumes that lay on the floor around her. Once the blur of sleep had finally faded, she turned to see the silhouette of her mom standing against the wall across the room, following a disarrayed chain of manuscripts as if casually searching for survivors.
Twilight Sparkle hadn’t turned the corner yet, but once she did, the purple mare wouldn’t be able to recognize the room. Andromeda’s expression burned from embarrassm

Chapter 18: Who Are You? (VERY rough first draft. Will be re-written in the future)
Flora continued to fly high above Ponyville, using the white pillowy clouds as cover from the curious eyes below. For two hours she had searched high and low for the foals, in and outside of the small town, but still she found no sign of them. Desperation began to settle upon her like a cold frost when she realized that her only sister could be lost, or worse, hurt from the storm and the fear of that possibility forced her to move quicker and look harder.
“Come on, Peach,” she whispered as she landed on the soft ground. “Where are you?”
Flora’s turquoise eyes continued to scour her surroundings for the tenth time, but the location of the kids eluded her. Her subconscious and heart rattled with anxiety. Her legs shook in panic until her body finally collapsed onto the cloud she stood on, shuddering lightly as she lay. Buried beneath her forearms, Flora’s head

Bismarck walked towards Zecora’s room with two drinks in hoof. While Zecora and Andromeda prepared a way for Andromeda to go into town without being noticed, he made his way to Berry, who was sitting by the room where Radiance lay, in case she needed something. It was his turn to take care of their friend while the others were busy, so Cherry slept on some floor cushions until it was hers. Bismarck handed Berry the soda and sat by his friend.
“Ah brought you a drink and something fer yer nose,” Bismarck said sheepishly. “Ah’m really sorry about all that. Ah don’t know what got into Tempest, but whatever it was, he was beginnin’ to scare me.”
“Yeah,” Berry replied as placed the ice pack onto his nose’s broken ridge, “me too. I know you didn’t mean it, Biz. We’re cool.”

Chapter 20: Meet your Maker (Rough draft. Will be eventually re-written)
As she passed the final green remains of Everfree Forest on the way to Twilight Sparkle’s home, a disguised Andromeda took a long, deep breath and closed her eyes. For a moment, the world around her was blocked out, giving her time to think for those precious few seconds. If anypony were to tell her that she would not only successfully time travel, but also meet her own mother in the past, she would have called them crazy. And yet, now here she was, alone with her thoughts and readying herself to explain everything to the one mare in the world that she didn’t want to admit defeat to. While Andromeda seemingly glided as she, Tempest, and Bismarck made their way to the house, Bismarck began to observe her odd behavior. With her new red and black appearance, she certainly looked like another pony, but there was something about her now that made her act like it as well. Bismarck couldn’t put

Flora opened the bedroom door with a deep caution that she had not felt in a very long time. Zecora’s deflection of her questions were suspicious enough, but when she entered the room and her eyes connected with the twins’, her caution grew into fear.
Cherry’s bouncy magenta hair now looked gangly and worn. Berry looked like he hadn’t gotten enough rest, but his eyes remained fixated on Radiance, who was still asleep and recovering. She had been through a lot, but now she finally looked peaceful for the first time since she had arrived. Despite the despairing news they had heard not too long ago, both looked up and smiled lightly at the green pegasus mare as she closed the door behind her. Cherry motioned for Flora to speak quietly so that they did not disturb Radiance.
“Flora,” she whispered, genuinely happy to see her friend again, “you made it back.”

Time slowed down as Tempest and Rainbow Dash got into position at the starting line, each snowflake floating seemingly motionless in the air. The sun was quickly beginning to set over the horizon while night quickly approached, but he could still see the hot breath from his mouth form white mist as he awaited her announcement. His body tensed up, ready to take of at any moment.
“Ready,” Rainbow Dash said.
She had a face of absolute certainty, her eyes as fixated at the price like a statue’s gaze. He knew that she would be relentless in this race.
He was going to have to give his all if he was going to beat her. His mother’s speed at this age was still unknown to him, so there was no room for error. The muscles in his wings twitched lightly from the anxiety of the countdown. This was it.

Chapter 24: The Most Important Meal of the Day (First Draft)
Flora’s forehead remained dramatically motionless on the café as the early morning birds chirped in the distance.
“We are so dead,” she grumbled through the forest green hair that covered her face. “You do know that we’re dead if somepony finds out we’re missing, right?”
Radiance’s sapphire eyes glanced up from her coffee. Though her mouth was hidden behind the small porcelain cup, Flora could tell that she was smiling by the way those eyes looked at her warmly.
“Don’t be so dramatic, Flora,” the white unicorn mare said with an amused tone. “I’ve been stuck inside that cramped little hut for days, but this brace makes it feel like it has been weeks. If I’m going to limp all the way back to Zecora’s, then I’m not going back until I’ve had a proper cup of coffee and some fresh air.”

Tempest and Rainbow Dash soared high into the snow-capped mountains as they overlooked the now speck-sized Ponyville in the distance. Wherever she was taking him, she wanted them to be alone. Already the temperature was beginning to drop, and he could feel the light touch of tiny snowflakes shower his face as they rocketed to their destination. Not a word had been spoken the entire trip, but when the two had passed through a thick fog that blanketed the valley of the peaks, Tempest’s keen eyes spotted a massive mountain that towered above all the rest surrounding it.
‘That must be where we’re going,’ he thought to himself as he followed her lead. ‘If Berry were here, he’d probably joke that she’s taking me out of town to kill me instead of race me. Can’t really say this place doesn’t fit that description.’
Shaking his head, he trie

Chapter 29: Family Reunions (first draft)
The forest grew eerily silent as Berry stood before Twilight and her friends, equally as appalled by his blunder as she was. The light forest breeze blew his magenta locks into his eyes, but his sight remained fixated on the sight of his young mother. Though he tried to say something, anything, his mouth felt drier than a desert. Instead, all he could do was stand there. After ten excruciatingly long seconds of nothing, Rarity cleared her throat to speak.
“Who is this stallion?” she asked Pinkie Pie, whose unmoving head was tilted slightly. “Do you know him?”
“No,” Pinkie said in a delayed manner. “I’ve never seen him in my life. I never forget a face.”
“That face,” Applejack said, “looks just like you!”
“And he called you mom,” Fluttershy reminded. “Why would he do that unless…”
Her eyes widened. Slowly, Pinki
