Sage 14Loki sighed, undressing in the locker room and folding his suit as he was taking it off; it was poorly fitting and cheap, but he knew that it would do; he really didn't want to go back to his brother and his girlfriend, but knew that he probably had to. Still, he moved a little more slowly than he could have been moving, hoping for an excuse not to go back just yet.
No such luck, so once he was redressed in his street clothes he left the restaurant, turned into the alley, and stepped into a shadow. He arrived in the living room silently, starting to his room. "How was the job brother?" Thor asked, but Loki ignored him; it bothered him that he was no longer truly free, that he had to be supervised by Thor. He knew that he deserved it, but that didn't mean that he liked it.
Once in the small room Jane was allowing him to use, he settled himself down onto the air mattress and tried turning his thoughts to the girl, Sage; she was having some sort of fun at least. Thinking about her unsettl

Rangers 1With a whistle I sent Rajah off and stood in the Rangers shooting range; breathing deeply to calm myself. He was gone; I saw him leave. He was probably on the other side of Redmont fief by now.Rangers 12 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
The recurve bow was an accustomed weight in my left hand, along with the quiver full of arrows on my back. I took another deep breath and shot at the three targets, which were really only trees; never shooting at the same one twice in succession, like dad had taught me.
The twelve arrows were buried deeply into the centers of the three targets within he space of a minute; I was getting faster. A smile split my face as I went to retrieve them; my aim was slightly high and to the left, but that was why I came here, to improve.
I had pulled eleven of them out, struggling on the last one because it was stuck, when the sound of hoofbeats reached my ears. The Ranger! I pulled vainly at the last one for a second before deciding to risk leaving it and running into the nearby forest as quickly and quietl

But how long can she stay living within her own fantasies; straying not too far from the reality that she is alone? Few friends bringing about the illusion of companionship, part of the time.
And oh how she sits in longing, imagining worlds full of the affection she lacks; the hole in her heart bleeding into her chest, hidden from the world.
And she sat on the bed, governing universes and writing herself full again; full and decomposing, eaten away. The pad in her lap holding her desires like the throne where she sat; for display.
And in her kingdom she sat in longing, wondering at her courage if she should ever leave.

Rangers 2I woke up suddenly, the sun was almost close to rising. Rubbing my eyes I got up and went outside to get Rajah. The short, sturdy chestnut mare with a ruddy black mane whickered at me as I came outside. I smiled.Rangers 22 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
"Hey girl." I opened the door to her stable and ran a hand down her side. She was an old horse, I don't know how long dad had her before he passed, but she was a trooper. I slid the bridle on before putting the saddle on. I gave her a carrot. "Let's hope I get something quick so you can have a rest." I hopped on and urged her into a trot, heading in the direction of the forest close to the Ranger's house.
He was out on the range when I passed by; his focus didn't shift but I knew he was aware that I was riding by. Once we got to the trail I hopped off and whistled low to Rajah. She snorted, throwing her head as I took the reins off and trotting into the forest ahead of me.
I watched her go ahead, staying on the path while I headed off into the brush silently. Tracks; the the h

"Yes. So?" she had woken up the second I touched her, but she was just too pretty to just leave-be because she was awake. Her lean frame curled into a ball away from me; her bright blond hair falling sleep-thrown and knotted down past slender shoulders.
"Leave me alone. I'm awake now." I grinned wider and crawled closer to her. She shied away. I made her bright blue eyes meet my dark brown ones. "Please don't hurt me " she whimpered.
"I wouldn't hurt you, not ever." I promised, she bit her lip and still looked scared. I touched her arm lightly and she froze. "Settle down a bit, relax." I made a bottle of wine appear as well as a glass. She stared at it as I poured the liquid and offered her some.
"How do I know it's not poison?" she asked. I chuckled and took a sip.

She giggled and nodded, reaching up to give me a kiss on my cheek. I reached down and tousled her soft blond hair as I set her back on the floor.
"I brought supper," Daisy began going through the bag of groceries; pulling out carrots and potatoes and staring at them.
"These are huge!" she exclaimed as Joseph walked into the room; chuckling and crossing his arms in his signature pose.
"So you had a good kill?" he asked ceremoniously.
"Yes; a huge buck. You should've seen it; I barely managed to get it onto Rajah to take to the butcher, and that was AFTER I gutted the thing." my voice took on a slight bragging tone. "How have things been going over here?"
"Daisy here has a knack for geography," he smiled, walking over and tickling her side; making her squeal, giggle and shy away.
Rangers 4I urged Tug into a trot towards Halt's hut at the edge of town; that girl had a Ranger's horse. But how? Well whatever the reason it can't go to the castle it won't do well there.Rangers 42 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
I dismounted as I rode up to the stables and walked inside; unsurprisingly Halt was already expecting me. "Halt we got a problem." my tone was serious. He quirked an eyebrow and I took that as a sign to continue. "Earlier I saw a girl in the possession of a Ranger horse; they're taking it to the castle to the knight school." I informed him.
He gave a slight nod. "I know."
"Just be patient."
"Ugh." How can he be so calm and sure? Who is this girl. And where did she get Rajah?

"Good; now go play with the others," the pretty petite nurse smiled at him, patting his shoulder as he turned away and walked over to the basketball court, ducking behind the tall potted plants and spitting into the dirt before crushing the three pills with his foot.
"Take your pills Anthony, please," he mimed the nurse angrily, suddenly more alert and aware than he had been the moment before, "Damn this place," he kicked the dirt and growled, "And damn my damn parents for sending me here."

"You really look up to those guys, don't you?" I nodded. "And dad? You were upset that he didn't say anything,"
"No one said anything. That's what made me upset, no one said anything," I explained; It was like I was a child, like I wouldn't be able to understand if I had been told. "It makes me feel like a child when people do things like that,"

"Well why don't you tell me then?" I asked. She shook her head.
"No Nicky tells it better," she looked over at him, blue eyes wide on his hazel ones. He smirked and sat down next to me, his arm hanging behind my back but not touching me.
"Well one day the clouds were dancing all around the sky faster and faster and they were all happy and white, fluffy clouds; but then a new cloud came and he was a mean, dark cloud. He kept bumping into the fluffy clouds, making them turn angry and black as well. Once all the clouds were angry they turned to the black cloud that had made them that way and started to fight; but they couldn't tell who it was, so they all fought each other. "Well so long as you're inviting me, sure; I'll join you," he smirked more and lifted me off of the bed, practically carrying me over to the other side of the room. I scowled and pressed away from him until he set me down.
"Just try to keep up then; and don't scare the animals." I agreed gruffly to the arrangement. He chuckled and followed me outside.

I couldn't stop the angry edge to my voice as I snapped at him. "He taught me everything that I could benefit from as an adult. He taught me how to work hard and respect others. I do realize that I may not be acting as respectful as he would expect of me and I do hope that you will forgive me for my behavior," I sighed and watched out the window at the pouring rain.
"So you would say he taught you many of the skills Rangers are known to use?" he asked quietly.
"I am a huntress; he taught me how to hunt. Don't twist this Ranger." I very nearly growled at him, warning him not to take the thought any further. I didn't need him polluting the memory of my father.

He watched me silently in a way I knew Rangers were prone to. "Dad was a Ranger; and you knew!" I accused; why should I feel so betrayed? I pulled the dagger out and showed it to him. "YOU KNEW! AND YOU DIDN"T SAY ANYTHING!"
My grip was white on the blade; the layer of leather that made up the sheath was the only thing that kept me from getting cut. I probably wouldn't even notice if I did cut myself, "SAY SOMETHING!"
