Spring was in full swing for the land of Equestria. Throughout the town of Ponyville, All of the citizens were enjoying the beautiful weather. Whether it was from working in the fields to relaxing at the park, they all basked in the warmth of Princess Celestia's sun. At Sweet Apple Acres, it was just another day of bucking apples from the many trees that covered the farm. Near the giant red barn, an apple tree shook and its apples fell from it into a yellow bucket. An orange mare with golden yellow hair, a brown Stetson hat, and emerald green eyes stood with a tired, but proud look smiled at the full bucket. The orange mare, Applejack, took the bucket and made her way out of the orchards. She made her way into the barn, where many more buckets of apples laid there scattered. She placed the bucket amongst one of the few empty spaced, and made her way out. She

Spike was afraid. White Whirl was such a tiny, fragile thing, it seemed like the slightest puff of smoke would blow her away. The wisps of rainbow mane floated in the breeze, having a life of their own. Whirly looked up at the strange creature that filled her vision. It didn't seem to be dangerous, this purple smiling face.
For one endless moment the two very different creatures stared at each other. Spike came even closer, fascinated by the baby. Then the silence was broken by a shocked yelp of pain.
Whirly clung to Spike's nose, gurgling happily. She didn't know who this purple face was, but it was hers now. Her newest, bestest toy was whimpering, fighting the instinct to rip off whatever was attached to his nose.
"I'm here, Spike! Whirly, let go!"
Cloud pulled on the little foal, who was surprisingly strong. Giving up on forcing the baby to let go, she whisked away, grabbing toys from the floor. Windfall, seeing what Cloud was doing, started scooping up ra

Soarin grumbled to himself as he walked down the street, out of Rarity's hearing. The foalish tie that she'd laced him into was slowly choking him. The stupid jacket she'd roped him into was pinning his wings to his back, restricting them and making him itchy. And the black mask, that the white unicorn had summoned from places unknown, had slipped over one ear, trapping it. He didn't care if this was the highest form of fashion ponykind had ever devised. He wanted to move, to be free.
Throughout the long, boring hour (or was it hours?) that had seemed never ending, he had fought against her treatment. Slipping out of clothing and tearing away at anything with sequins. Once, the Wonderbolt had even made it halfway out of the door before the unicorn torturer's devious magic had dragged him back in. Eventually he'd just submitted to Rarity's attentions, letting her have her way while secretly promising to himself that he'd escape the clothing as soon as he could. Because of the element of

Chapter 1 - Burnished Silver
Twilight broke on the horizon, the sun peeking above tree tops and mountains as it rose. Small rays of light drifted through Twilight Sparkle's bedroom, falling upon her face. As slowly as possible, she opened her eyes and rubbed the sleep from them. Rousing herself, Twilight slipped out of the downy bed that had always seemed much too large for her, and walked to the window to gaze out at the land. It seemed surreal to her, the ruling Lady of Canterlot.
Why me? she wondered, as was her daily tradition. Why did everypony choose me? I never asked for this... this... Rainbow Dash had always told her it was an honor, but she could never bring herself to believe that. Twilight looked out the window, nearly all of Equestria in sight. The land she had been chosen to rule and to protect, and the land that was divided and torn apart.
Twilight turned from the window with a sigh. Walking across the massive roomformerly Princes

"Ya sure did, sugarcube," Applejack replied, giving the sky-blue pegasus next to her a quick, sidelong glance. True to form, the other mare did not notice it, or the slight quaver of nervousness in the earth pony's voice.
Applejack wasn't much given to planning, she was the first to admit it. She preferred to tackle things straight on when they came up. But that didn't mean she couldn't be more cunning and subtle on the rare occasions when she thought those qualities were required. This was one of those, and so far everything had gone right according to her plan. Now, if she could just gather the courage for the next step!
"Okay, was that all you wanted from me?" Dash continued, stirring her wings with a faint rustle. "Because I think it's just about the time for my special 'Job Well Done' afternoon nap!"
"No!" Applejack yelped, the word coming out

He'd always told her that things like this could happen. But there's a difference between being told something can happen, and that thing actually happening.
She'd been asleep when they'd broken in, kicking the door down, splintering the wood. She'd woken in a fright, disoriented and uncertain just what was going on. Things like this weren't unusual here, what with the sort of things that cropped up now and again.
But then strange creatures charged into her room. Things that looked like her, only not, made of metal and with strange, grating, electronic voices. She fought not to scream as they advanced on her, backing her into a corner. They were too alien to her to trigger a fight response, and instead she cowered in fear in the corner of the room, golden eyes wide, her whole body quivering, wings pressed tightly to her sides.
There was no escape.
Six of them surrounded her and from their hooves came a great storm of electricity, so much so that she was lifted from the ground, trapped
My Thoughts on Celestia and LunaAnd so we come to the two regal sisters themselves. Celestia and Luna, the Princesses of My Little Pony. Despite not being in the show so much, the little that these two characters have done is so big, both on and off screen, that I've come up with tons to write about, for better or for worse. My Thoughts on Celestia and Luna3 years ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
Let me start by addressing a particular complaint I came across when I first started watching the show. That issue is the fact that they're both Princesses in a land where no other form of royalty seems to exist. It was argued that because there are no older monarchs above them, like a king or something, that they should be called Queens instead of Princesses.
Well firstly, let me say right now that it is not unusual or unheard of for countries to be ruled by princes and princesses rather than kings or queens. These types of nations are known as principalities and while I'm not familiar with any such nations that exist at the moment, I do know that they were at one point fairly common in Europe,

Soarin with the Rainbow chapter 10
Soarin trotted around nervously, treading a circle into the training field with his pacing. Twilight's habits were rubbing off on him. The elements were nowhere to be found. They all should be here by now. The trials would start soon, and Soarin knew that Spitfire would take every opportunity to thwart Rainbow and make sure the cyan Pegasus never joined the team. Ever since Rainbow, with Soarin by her side, confronted her at the last stunt show, Spitfire had refused to talk to either of them, which was making team practices hard. Even worse, for the past month she'd been actively trying to stop their meetings, refusing to give Soarin time off, and trying to override the trainers when they disputed that order. The fire-maned mare had told him, very pointedly, that she was not expecting any new members from this try-out. Spitfire was well known for going through with her threats, and Soarin was confused and worried. Spitfire's hate seemed to have sprung

Today was another calm and relaxing day for Twilight who, sitting on a park bench, watched as Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie ran around in a game of tag. Applejack and Rarity stood at the edge of a pond, bickering over something to do with their manes. Finally Twilight looked to her right, seeing Fluttershy on the bench beside her, looking down to the ground and lightly crying.
"Fluttershy? What's the matter?" Twilight asked softly.
Fluttershy tried to look more cheery, wiping her tears away. "Oh, n-nothing is wrong."
Twilight looked into Fluttershy's sorrowful eyes. Something about herself was bothering her friend. Did she say something? Or do something? Maybe there was something wrong with her she hadn't seen before. Seeing the pond, an idea came to her, so she stood from the bench. Something felt wrong; her bones and entire body ached in pain. She felt as though she had been in a fight or put through intensive labor.

"Looks clear so far," he answered, twisting his head slowly to survey the landscape about him in the dark of the night. Optics in his helmet made that problem trivial, scanning over the small cracks and impact lines that scattered the ground he hovered over, "Looks like this one might've been harmless."
"Don't give me that Widget," the feminine voice over the earpiece shot, "You saw the same readings I did. 'Harmless' wouldn't have spiked the sensors like that."

Trixie groaned and stretched as she woke up. Her legs felt like lead. Opening her eyes revealed a familiar ceiling. It was the middle of the night, a half moon providing only just enough light to see by. Trixie wondered if she could go more than a week without passing out anytime soon. She glanced up as if to see her own forehead, and focused for a moment. Sure enough, a pale blue light emanated from her horn.
"Hah hah!" she shouted in excitement. A murmur caught her attention. She looked over and found Fluttershy asleep on her stool, just like a week ago. Trixie smiled and chuckled. She gazed on at Fluttershy for a moment, before a small part of her reminded her of her situation. Her smile turned into a deep frown. She forced herself out of bed on the far side from Fluttershy.
"I've taken enough from you." Trixie whispered. Her horn continued to glow as she enveloped Fluttershy in a magical aura. She gently lifted Fluttershy from her seat and pulled back the covers. She slid

Spike was out of the house for once, away on an adventure with Apple Bloom, and Twilight Sparkle was making good use of the time to get as much study done as possible. She sat on her bed reading a book called "The Ursa Major in its Natural Habitat" it was a fascinating book, and she was so deeply engrossed in it that for a long time she didn't realise there was somepony knocking on the front door of the house.
"Is that Spike back already? Why doesn't he just come in the door's unlocked for goodness sake! Oh Spike..." But when she got up and went to the door, she saw that it wasn't Spike it was one of the Pegasus ponies who took travellers between Ponyville and Canterlot. Few ponies made the journey regularly, so she was surprised to see him arrive at her house unannounced.

The Twilights of Spike's Heart Chapter Eight: The End of a Beginning
As Twilight and Spike walked back to the library, the young dragon just seemed to have one question on his mind.
“But do you like me too?” asked Spike.
Twilight giggled slightly. “Yes Spike, for the fiftieth time yes.”
“But you said you loved me. Does that mean you like me or you like me as a friend or maybe you-“
Spike’s seemingly endless babbling was quickly cut short when Twilight suddenly planted a quick kiss on his lips. “Does that answer the question, Spike?” Twilight asked with a warm smile.
As soon as Twilight’s lips met his, Spike froze. The only sign of life in his shocked face was a quickly growing blush. After a few more seconds the purple dragon spoke. “Uhhhhhhh, yes?”
Twilight couldn’t help but giggle at Spike’s innocent answer. “Okay then. Shall we continue back to the library now?
