Cburleigh81 is no longer active. And well i was the founder of this group. My new one is ChrisBurleighPhoto . And the new group is http://unifiedphotographers.deviantart.com/ . I will be sending you all requests to this new group. I cannot really do anything with this one. The new group will be an active group when we have members. It's hard to contain myself! With all the talent on deviant art today, sometimes you have to wonder if anyone is really paying attention to your art! But then, sometimes out of the blue you get noticed in a way that totally surprises you! This is what happen to me this week! It's hard to contain myself!2 months ago in Personal More Like This
As a rule, when I post an image here on da I also make my rounds and post it on several other sites! Fine Art America, Shadowness, BlueCanvas and Face Book to mention a few. Then last week I got an email on FaceBook that went like this:
"Ricky,
I would like to extend to you the invitation to be our Cover Artist for the April issue of Mandelmorphosis.
Mandlemorphosis is a student curated site focused on exploring the emerging 3D/4D Fractal Art movement and the students have asked me to extend this invitation. Your involvement includes providing or pointing us to a graphic for the cover (top) and a set of images we might choose from for the artist profile. The mini-profile is pinned to the top of the page for the month you are being showcased.

The Luminarium Exhibit #20The Luminarium Exhibit #203 months ago in Digital Art More Like This
The Luminarium is proud to present our 20th exhibit Adventure! It is quite a milestone for us and we are glad to share with you what is our biggest, and quite possibly best, release yet. Adventure explores that inner curiosity that drives so much of humanities achievements. That desire to know what is over the horizon, what is beyond the next turn. The Luminarium has been quite an adventure for many of us over the course of our 20 releases and long may it continue into the future. Adventure holds over 50 pieces of artwork and music, with pieces from old hands like Glenn Clovis, Chris Cold and Alex Fralin, some outstanding work from Kuldar Leement as well as some notable debut's from Erik Schumacher, Anna Hollinrake, Matthias Utomo, Jakob Hansson and Scott Steadman. Come and Join us on our Adventure.

More Max WorkGetting better? I created the texture from scratch, I wasn't feeling up to stitching photos together. It needs more work, but I think it looks pretty decent here. I've realized that colors need to be more muted in order to look realistic in Max, where in Photoshop I've tended to favor stronger colors and more contrast.More Max Work6 months ago in Personal More Like This

Back in April I was contacted about the use of one of my Apophysis images, "String Theory", in EXACTAmente magazine. The magazine is "...a free popularization of science magazine edited by the Faculty of Natural Sciences, of the University of Buenos Aires", says Juan Pablo Vittori, the person who contacted me. He also says, "EXACTAmente is a magazine that is meant for secondary school teachers, so it is freely sent to 2000 high-schools in Buenos Aires in printed version.
Below is a Google translation (Spanish to English)of the opening paragraph of the magazine...
Physicists practitioners of string theory are perhaps those with greater and more sophisticated talents to handle a fascinatingly complex formalism. researchers other branches can hardly penetrate with solvency, not in the details, but in core concepts of a theory that is as science and mathematics but about their goal of being natural science generates divided.

Comic-Con recapHoly wow, has it already been this long since Comic-Con?Comic-Con recap10 months ago in Personal More Like ThisI had an amazing time, as you can probably imagine, but came home with a gnarly cough and cold (Con plauge, uuuuuugh!) that pretty much ate my last two weeks. I'm feeling much better now, but time just flies when you're spending almost every spare moment sleeping.
The con itself was amazing, I got to meet `sambees, who I have known forever Online but finally got to meet in person!I was running around so much I didn't get to spend much time with her at all, which I feel terrible about. Sorry, Budgie
I got to meet our other scholarship artists too, everyone is so darn talented and so darn nice. You guys are amazing.
During my free time at the con, I was dressed as femme!biker!Logan, and it was so fun to watch people recognize what I was dressed as. It was a very non-cosutmey costume, it was the cigar that sold it, for sure.`megturney and I even fought!
