A commission my art teacher wanted me to do for her mother's birthday. My first commishie too~
I made it into a papercut originally on a blue paper, but it didn't blend too well so it was spray painted black and so was the background with green and some blue, my teacher then touched it up quite a bit with some cheap apple paint she bought.
I really liked how this turned out, especially with the things she added to it.
My big fanart cut-out for this year: Sohryuu, in his human form, from the Yami no Matsuei manga series. (Shown in 2006 Anime Expo art show.) The original is about 1 1/2 x 2 feet in size, matte not included. The dragon is a slightly modified version of the one in volume 10 of the manga.

Probably the last piece for 2012. This one was a commission. I chose colors and papers and the frame all before I started on the piece. Frame choice dictated depth, which determined the number of layers. I'm pleased with how it turned out.
Amate bark paper for tan and green backgrounds; selago for the solid-color leaves, Stardream for the stems and buds, and several different matte-finish papers for the blues.
