Official deviantMEET Paris #2 : REPORT !! English version below (with pictures)Official deviantMEET Paris #2 : REPORT !!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Did you know? You can upload to Sta.sh many ways!In continuation of our series on using Sta.sh, we'd like to let you know of yet another way you can utilize your Sta.sh -- by uploading via email and FTP.Did you know? You can upload to Sta.sh many ways!4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Why, you ask?
There are several uses for this feature. Say you're walking down the street, and you see something that catches your eye. Perhaps there's an impromptu dance party, or the sun is setting over the mountains. You only have your phone on you, and you snap a photo. It looks amazing, but that photo is forever doomed to reside in your phone. Now, you can email that picture to your Sta.sh and have it ready for you when you're home. Sta.sh also gives you a place to store that photo so you can share the link with friends.
Or, say you're at school or work you've been collaborating with a friend on your latest masterpiece. You may not be able to log in to your deviantART account, or don't want to ge

SNEAK PEEK: deviantART's NEW Today Page!As I noted in my last journal, there are some big -- and exciting!! -- changes on the way for deviantART. Er, DeviantArt.SNEAK PEEK: deviantART's NEW Today Page!1 year ago in Personal Journal More Like This
The team here at DeviantArt continues to listen to your feedback plus we met with a crew of super-deviants in NYC last month (check out a pic below and got a full, insightful download. Then, we thought long and hard on how to pave a kindred and inspiring direction. As always, you are the center of it all -- and how to connect you with your community.
Ok, getting into it, I want to share a sneak peek on work-in-progress (as in not final!) designs for the new Today page and to hear what everybody thinks.

Happy 13th birthday, and thank youToday marks deviantART's 13th birthday and a handful of us -- spyed, mccann, chris, and me -- have been on this amazing journey since pretty much day one. Thirteen years ago, most of us in that handful were just teenagers, unknowingly embarking on a time in our lives that would shape us, inspire us, and be truly thought-provoking in ways we could have never imagined. Today, I find myself so fortunate to play a role in the ongoing journey that has deviantART at the forefront of solving complex problems that affect the creative community.Happy 13th birthday, and thank you2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Throughout the years, I've met incredible people at deviantMEETs, town hall meetings, and visits to new countries -- all of which have fostered relationships and changed my life. I'm extremely grateful to have talked with every deviant who has crossed my path -- even in a note, comment, or journal. The deviantART community has flourished and prospered in the past 13 years, and we're thankful for that,
New Wrapped Canvas Product TweetNew Wrapped Canvas Product4 years ago in DeviantArt Announcements More Like This
The stretcher bar on our Wrapped Canvas Print will be changing from an 11/16" (1.75 cm) depth x 1 5/8" (4.13 cm) width to a 1 3/8" (3.5 cm) depth x 1 3/8" (3.5 cm) width.
The result will be an upgraded product that has a more professional,
gallery-quality look at the same great price.
For those who are not aware, the Gallery Wrap, which is what deviantART
uses for our Canvas Prints, is a technique that wraps the actual image around
all four sides of the frame.
The outermost 1 3/4" (4.45 cm) on all four sides will be stretched to wrap
around the frame.
If you have designed borders to wrap around the edge of th
Update: Fair Exposure and Popular Browse Fair Exposure and miscategorizationUpdate: Fair Exposure and Popular Browse4 years ago in DeviantArt Announcements More Like This
On January 24th, 2012, we released an hq journal regarding Popular results for Browse. In this journal, we described Fair Exposure -- deviantART's algorithm for Popular browse results. Fair Exposure's goal is to showcase the most popular deviations in a variety of styles, genres, and art forms, without bias towards a particular topic.
Since the release of our Fair Exposure announcement, especially in the last handful of weeks, we've noticed a concerted, dedicated effort made by deviants, or groups of deviants, to specifically beat (or "game") the system. Deviations have been intentionally miscategorized in hopes of having them appear "higher" in Popular results. This has, rightfully so, resulted in complaints from deviants who submit to deviantART in a fair and honest manner.
Need Input for Message Center RevampIn the deviantWATCH, we would like to switch to Feeds vs. Messages you have to "X" away one by one.Need Input for Message Center Revamp3 years ago in DeviantArt Announcements More Like This
Now, I could use a wide net of input for message center revamp, but really I'd like to start with a narrow view of just deviantWATCH.
The deviantWATCH lives within Messages, which contains within it Feedback, Notices, etc. as well. deviantWATCH messages come in like crazy in your message center once you are watching 20+ people. And of the folks reading my Journal, I know you guys tend to have over 100+ people that you +WATCH.
Help me understand something. Because if we go off and make changes, we're going to have a riot on our hands. And no one needs that kind of sadness in their lives:
Why can't we switch to feeds?
Feeds would effectively index YOUR deviantWATCH in to deviantART's search engine, so your deviantWATCH Deviations would have all of the filters and capabilities of the home page. Categories, Newest, Most Popular 24 hours, 1 week, 1 month, etc. BUT a
My DeviantART Story: A Journey of 9 DeviantYearsOk, so it's not exactly nine years yet, but at the end of this year it will be! And that's a long time time, if you stop to think about it, so I'm stopping to think about it to reflect on this nine-year journey through dA, seeing as 9 is such a lovely number. My DeviantART Story: A Journey of 9 DeviantYears1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
I joined this site at the tail-end of 2005, back when I was in highschool and I thought winesoaked-roses would make the most awesome username...it didn't, so I'm not that anymore (thank goodness dA added the ability to change one's username, because I think having the username is why I took a speckled 2-year-on-off hiatus a few years ago; why would I think wine-soaked roses are lovely? I guess they kind of sound so, but having tasted wine several years back, I can't imagine roses would be good to eat with that)...
I don't remember exactly how I stumbled upon the site but I think it was purely by accident. It was back in the days whe
