Heal My Wounds--Chapter 2Kaidan jumped out of the Normandy and onto the street below. The major had convinced Joker to let him out beside the hospital instead of going to a docking bay. He was hellbent on seeing John before he did anything else. He wasn't going to do anything else until he saw the Commander, regardless of what he was asked. Yes, he was an Alliance soldier to his core, but Shepard needed someone to be there for him. He had just saved the galaxy. The least that Kaidan could do was be there as he recovered. The others stayed on board and waited until Joker was granted permission to land. His eyes rested on the building that had the sign "Charing Cross Hospital" and he felt himself growing beyond anxious.
He walked into the hospital, the features on his face smooth and calm, the complete opposite of his inner feelings. He was thinking a million thoughts and they blurred together, his heart was racing and adrenaline was coursing through his veins. He walked to the receptionist's desk and she
Heal My Wounds--Chapter 3Kaidan stirred awake after hearing voices around him. His back and neck were stiff from sleeping in an awkward position all night, he grunted as he worked his neck. The doctors and nurses had gathered around the Commander and he blinked. They seemed to pay him no mind as they checked Shepard. His curiosity was piqued and he tapped on Dr. Michel's shoulder. She turned around and smiled, her eyes shifted to Shepard's face and Kaidan's followed.Heal My Wounds--Chapter 33 years ago in Romance More Like This
John's eyes were opened and although his pupils were dilated from the amount of medication and remedies that they had pumped into him, they managed to sort out who was who and settled on Kaidan. They locked gazes for a few moments, everyone else faded into the background. The major smiled and Shepard's eyes stared at him with intensity. He wanted to speak but knew that he couldn't. He couldn't even move.
Kaidan mouthed, 'Rest' and they broke contact. There was no way that Shepard was ready for communication on a higher scale than a few
Heal My Wounds--Chapter 4Kaidan found himself wiping sweat from his brow as the sun bored into the dark fabric of his back, causing him to perspire more than he normally would. With the combination of both biotic and physical strength, he stood beside Liara and a few other biotics, removing masses of random matter out of the streets and into either giant piles or into the backs of giant vehicles to be re-purposed and made into new concrete. He looked at the asari to his right. Her face was focused and, although she was sweating at a ridiculous level, her breathing was even. Her biotics were definitely skilled and powerful. There was a familiar voice coming from behind them, harshly calling out orders, occasionally swearing at one of the people she was instructing.Heal My Wounds--Chapter 43 years ago in Romance More Like This

Heal My Wounds--Chapter 1"Joker, I don't care what you have to do, get us back to Earth," Kaidan's voice was sharp and demanding as he ran into the cockpit. The thought of his commander gone was just too much for him to accept. There were too many words that still needed to be shared, so much more to be done between them. He couldn't face the highly probable chance that his lover -after years of feeling betrayed and loving him regardless of that- was gone. He ran a hand through his thick black hair. There was no way that he was losing John.Heal My Wounds--Chapter 13 years ago in Romance More Like This
The flight lieutenant nodded, having suffered a loss of his own, finding Shepard would have been a welcomed distraction. Even though that Shepard had told he and EDI not to get together, he still felt the impact of her loss.
John had never been a proper gentleman, hell he was never proper at all. He would kill someone without a second thought, but no matter what he did, he had a reason. Joker growled as he stood, finding that he had broken a rib. "Get Adams, we're goin

"Here, take him."Shepard ordered James, giving him Alenko's arm. Kaidan hesitated leaving her,but he had no choice. He reluctantly crossed his arm over Vega's shoulder, shouting her name. He stared back at her.
"You gotta get out of here."Shepard ordered them, but Kaidan couldn't accept it. He couldn't just leave her behind, get into Normandy and leave. It was wrong. So fucking wrong.
"Yeah, that's not gonna happen!"Kaidan told her, somehow a bit decisive. He seemed determined to stay there, fight,be with her. However,Commander had a different opinion about it. Victorianna had to make sure he was safe.
"Don't argue with me,Kaidan." Shepard tried to shield herself behind her emotions for him and her determination to the purpose she was set to finish. She looked at him through the eyes. Her words were stable, warm and leaving him no choice but obedience. Nevertheless,Kaidan didn't seem able to give up on his powers and his love.

Lieutenant-Commander Alexis Shepard nailed her target right in the head from a distance of two hundred meters.
"If you'd only employed that kind of dedication and focus to your date last night with what's-his-face-"
"-Kyle, from the SSV..."
Alexis rolled her shoulders irritably. "-Midway."
"...Then you wouldn't be sitting her, practicing sniping skills you'll probably never employ on the field, despite the N7 logo streaking down your arm."
Alexis scoped her target, pulled the trigger, and lowered the rifle before sparing a withering glance for Lorrie. The engineer shrugged at her, suggesting she was a lost cause. "Kyle didn't have it."
Crack! "You know what I mean, Lor."
Lorrie sighed and took the rifle from her, lining up her own shot. "You can't keep comparing every guy to him."
Alexis unzipped her N7 hoodie, but didn't remove it. "Sure I can." She picked up the shotgun on the table next to them and examined its settings. Standard Al

Angelynne Shepard,Savior of the Citadel and the Terminator of the Reapers,is alive. In flesh and bones. After endless months of surgeries, medical over watch and support from everyone, she was about to be dismissed from the hospital and return back to the rebuilding world, made both of ruins and hope.
She got up from the hospital bed slowly. The sunlight reflected trough her gorgeous green eyes and her fingers playfully twisted themselves around the strings of her furious hair. She smiled. Her cheekbones got raised that up after a very long time.
Looking out of the window, she saw people coming and going. Vancouver was still under construction but nothing seemed to stop them from continuing to live, hope and love.
Speaking of love, the door whooshed open and he came in,an enormous smile on his face. His eyes were glowing happiness and everything he was made of,got bathed in an unmeasurable amount of joy and justice. With his arms open wide,he approached her. She was still loo

After three days, Kaidan was sure that the blue-eyed guy was stalking him. Either that or he was assigned to every god damned place he happened to be at.
He didn't look at only him, that much Kaidan was sure of. But when Kaidan was looking at him, the stranger seemed to be studying him.
This made Kaidan nervous. And when he was nervous, he fucked up more easily.
"God damn it, Alenko, where the hell is your head?! You would have been dead out there," Michael barked, tugging off his helmet so he could give Kaidan a proper glare as they walked out of the simulator, breathing hard.
"I am sorry, okay? It's just That guy makes me nervous. He keeps -staring-," Kaidan barked back, wiping away the sweat on his forehead, helmet already under his arm.
"Get over yourself, he is staring at everyone," Michael replied, his voice gruff. "That's what he's doing, observing. Like, it's why he's here."
"Who the hell is he anyway?" Kaidan asked, looking towards the stranger wh

Kaidan could get used to the rude wake-ups, the morning drills, running in the middle of pouring weather, knee-deep in water. He could get used to the sorry excuse they called food, the latrine duties and the constant yelling from his superior officers.
Hell, he could get used to underwear constantly riding up his ass because of the friction from his pants.
He wasn't sure if he could get used to the buzz-cut though. His scalp was constantly itching and when he looked at himself in the mirror, all he could see were eyebrows. Huge, dark eyebrows. He wondered if he could ask to have those shaven off as well.
Other than that, life at boot camp wasn't bad. He'd been here a month already and he found that he was actually enjoying his time here. Sure, it was hard work, but it wasn't anything he couldn't handle.
He was already used to wearing a uniform from his time at BAaT, used to surprise inspections and being worked until his body was crying out in pain.

When Kaidan was made Sergeant and offered a commendation for his services during a routine mission gone wrong, nobody was prouder than Kaidan's father.
Kaidan was proud too, but he felt that getting a commendation for hacking a door shut so Batarian pirates couldn't come into a shuttle was a bit idiotic.
It had been Kaidan's first mission off-world and while it was a simple one, Kaidan had been excited.
He had worked hard for the chance, pushed himself constantly despite the growing pains from his implants. He had ignored them, pushed himself further, not willing to show that he was weak.
He could do this. He knew he could. And he had done it all without once using his biotic abilities in a mission or task.
When Kaidan was offered the spot, he had been a simple corporal; promoted mere two months after he had finished boot camp because of his dedication and, as his squad-leader had said, his stubbornness and integrity.
He had been transferred from the boot camp to the

Kaidan never regretted having that discussion with his father that night. Never regretted listening to his father's advice, arguing back and forward between what Kaidan felt was smart and what felt right.
It had taken most of the night and several Canadian lagers until they reached an answer and by then they were both tipsy, talking loudly outside on the balcony until Kaidan's mother had threatened to set the dog and the hose on them both.
He had been twenty-three then.
Now he was closing in on twenty-five, feeling just as young and inexperienced as he did back then. He wasn't as closed off anymore, learning to trust and to work with others, but he still wasn't the one that barked the loudest. He spoke when spoken too, always gave professional opinions and keeping personal ones to himself.
Nobody ever asked for personal opinions, at least not where he was.

But it wasn't just the loud noises that were causing his migraine. It was his conscience eating at him.
He shouldn't have said what he said to Shepard back on Horizon. He reacted too strongly. He still didn't trust Cerberus, and he never would, but he should've trusted Markus. They'd seen the experiments Cerberus did, Markus had been the sole survivor of Akuze, and he still worked with them Shepard always had a good reason for everything he did. He never cut corners; he never took the easy way out. He wouldn't betray the Alliance.

After what seemed to be years, the war against the Reapers was finally over. Shepard decided neither to control, nor destroy them. He had grown to hate the Illusive Man after he saw what he really was and, even though Anderson and everybody in the universe, including Shepard himself, wanted the Reapers dead, Shepard realised during these last minutes that he wasn't a murderer.

She stopped when she saw he had "this look" in his eyes. She knew it meant unpleasant discussion, but she also knew that she was not in the mood at all. Garrus probably saw it too for his tall body stiffened.

Eden Prime, 17 years after the destruction of the Reapers:
Ambassador Liara T'Soni-Shepard returned home and started preparing some after-school snacks for her children without even changing out of the traditional pure white with gold trim dress she wore to official functions.
Liara was happy and occasionally caught herself staring out the sliding kitchen doors that opened to the huge porch that over looked the big back yard which ended at the shores of the crystal clear glacial lake. A lake named Lake Shepard, much to her husband's chagrin. On the other side of the lake snow-capped mountains towered over everything, reaching into the clear, azure sky. It was breath-taking.
Her lithe figure moved gracefully around the kitchen as she gathered items and mentally ticked off nutritional values. She loved it when she got home in time to do this, but her duties usually held her

Commander Sarah Shepard dragged herself down the steps as she stripped out of the cracked and dented armor she wore down to Tuchanka. She was so tired and just emotionally done. She staggered a bit and caught herself against the wall by her desk.
She couldn't believe Mordin was dead. He was such a good friend, she loved hearing him ramble on about STG, his work, ethics and even art. The black cloud gathered around her soul again. Everyone she valued and loved died. She sank to her knees and leaned against the wall as she tore off her chest-plate. Exhaustion, loss and pain swelled up in her breast making it hard to breathe, to think. The pain was thick and heavy but she fought it, pushed it down. Leah Shepard raised her pistol to take aim at the generator. All she could think of was her soul mate as she made her decision. The decision to completely eradicate the threat of the reapers; she had to make it safe for Liara to live out her life, even if it would be without the commander.
As she walked closer to the generator to ensure a precise shot, images of the ones she loved flashed before her eyes. Joker and EDI, the couple that she helped create. She couldn't help but feel guilty about her decision to destroy the reapers due to the fact that doing so would destroy all synthetics, which would include EDI. EDI had brought so much happiness to Joker's life and now Shepard's decision would take that away from him.
Then Tali and Garrus flashed before her eyes. Leah loved that they had found love and prayed that they would be able to enjoy a long life with each other.
