"Chakras are the major centers of spiritual power in the human body and are circles of energy which balance, store and distribute the Prana, life force, or vital energies of life through our physical body along the subtle body.
Through meditation, and various esoteric practices, (such as Kundalini Yoga, Sahaja Yoga, and Kriya Yoga), the kundalini is awakened, and can rise up from the muladhara chakra through an energy conduit, called Sushumna, inside or alongside the spine and reaches the top of the head.
The progress of kundalini through the different chakras leads to different levels of awakening and mystical experience, until the kundalini finally reaches the top of the head, Sahasrara or crown chakra, producing an extremely profound mystical experience."

Kundalini means 'Serpent of Light' and is the energy situated at the base of the spine, when activated or awakened it travels up the center channel of the spine and is the means through which the seven major chakras mature. When the kundalini is activated and reaches a certain frequency it travels through the chakras with such intensity that it creates and instantaneous union between the soul and the divine source via the crown chakra. This process of Liquid light transmutation was explained in Vedic and Tantric teachings , to be able to achieve higher states of consciousness.

This is a piece i've been wanting to flesh out for suuch a long time! I know it's kinda cliche and all but i just really love the ideas behind it all. Its one of those energy systems that iv'e always known about - how could you not? but it wasn't until i met my partner's brother back in 2010 that i really got intrigued by it all again - (he's right into all that side of things and continually inspires me to push with my art). It fascinates and amazes me how many aspects of that information can be translated across into different cultures/texts or ideas..all those ideas about energy, prana, vortex's, the different levels of consciousness or moving through dimensions or different aspects of your-'self'..it seems i keep circling around the same themes over and over..and yet im ALWAYS learning something new.
This seemed like the right time to get this out.

I do like it overall, but as always in the end i can see where i would have liked to do things different..woulda, coulda, shoulda..i think i would have liked to make this super big so i could put all the little things i wanted into it, actually have the kundalini energy moving through the whole picture..i do kinda like how the energies disappear at the top and bottom but seem like they circle back around to each other, flowing and feeding back around continually, like a torus.

I was gonna include some info here about the different chakras but there's endless information out there, so go have a look yourself.. i give you permission to go learn something

Developed from the sketch done during Sketch Fest #32 (Jan. 2013) to a prompt, "Bone Queen", this is painted in ink and watercolor on 5" x 7" vellum (140 lb.). As I was completing it, I wished I had started the sketch on a larger sheet of paper, especially when I was going over the eye details with my smallest brush. XD But since I had already inked the lines, I went ahead and completed her with watercolor. This was one of these cases where the image had the mind of its own, and I ended up with a pretty crazy image. XD

Mainly inspired by the Day of the Dead skull-painted face, but she is also lavishly decorated with bleeding poppies, feathers, bird skull jewelry, and skeleton body paint. Just a random creation to a prompt. ^^

I'm glad the original has been claimed by a collector since I can't seem to look at her longer than 30 seconds before I get a strange, creepy feeling... ^^;

This is a painting that featured in a recent solo artshow i had at the FOUNDRY(.TV) artbar in Shoreditch East London.

its a version of the US flag that shows the horror and sorrow caused by war that seems to bee such an uneccessary waste of human life and resources. some countries play a starring role on the world stage az viscious warmongers and this particular nation (the USA) seems to bee one of them. the anti-stars.... the true horrid face beneath the Hollywood glamour illusion mask

the red stripes dripping with the blood of the innocent victims of land mines, stealth bomber planes, machine guns and cluster bombs.

when will the human race civilise itself? i wonder...

noam chomsky once said "Government is the shadow that big business casts upon the people" when one of the most profitable businesses in the world is the arms trade you really have to wonder what exactly is going on in the minds of the people that create violent national foreign policies. are they in it just for the profits of the misfortunes of others... ?

sometimes it seems sadly so...

the title of the show was:

"EYES CLOSED SEE DITTO"
