He is Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston from a tv series called Breaking Bad. 8-)

I really wanted to draw him for a long time, and finally managed to finish it over the weekend. It was fun trying to draw the skin details and his beard, as it was a challenge to draw every hair. :o

I used, B and 4B pencils and an eraser
Hope you like it! :D

I was asked again by Rosebud Magazine in California to draw Jack Nicholson, because they are doing an interview with him, and he's on the cover. They said he will most likely view my art work!! :D:D

I've created a Google Doc with all the scans of the steps I took, so I don't have to SPAM everyone with all the WIP updates. The only problem is, you can't see the fine details very well, because they are pasted images, not attachments.

SIZE: 7 x 8 INCHES
TIME: about 10-12 hours?
PAPER: Strathmore Bristol Smooth 300 series
PENCILS: Staedtler Mars Lumograph H, HB, F, B, 2B, 3B

PLEASE NOTE: The ENLARGED view is slightly larger than the actual drawing. See the high res scan link above for CLOSE UP details :D:D Speaking of which...the details in his eyes drove me nuts! I prolly spent over 4 hours total on the eyes!

PS - note I drew the entire head? I ALWAYS crop the scalp at least a little. It is so you get the most face in the space allowed. However, Rosebud Mag insisted that I drew the whole thing, and that they are also going to do some type of "watercolor effect" to the drawing? I will post that when I see it.

PAPER: Strathmore Bristol Smooth 300 series
PENCILS: Staedtler Mars Lumograph H, HB, F, B, 2B, 3B

"WHY SO SERIOUS??? LET'S PUT A SMILE ON THAT FACE!!"
:D:D

I loved the expression in this photo, and have not seen anyone draw this one before, but it was not high res, and I have to imagine some of the details. Most photos of him are slightly out of focus screen shots from the movie vs him posing for his photo in make-up? I also didnít waste my time trying to reproduce the dots on his shirt collar either. The reference photo looks clear enough, but the larger you make it, the more pixelated it gets. I couldn't really go wrong though with the makeup. Unlike the details of a normal person, messy make-up is messy make-up, so it didnít really matter that I didnít try to copy this 100%?

(ENLARGED VIEW is actual size)

So I finished another BrBa piece, but THIS time, I'm mailing to Aaron Paul's parents, who are excited :D

Although their faces are HALF my normal drawing size, I was able to cram lots of details, by drawing mostly under a magnifying glass.

TIME: 40+ hours
SIZE: 10.5 x 14.5 inches
