5 Tips on Creating Dynamic Character1. Start with a concept. This is how most of my characters start, and they usually begin with two or three word descriptors. "Demon stallion" or "spoiled dragon prince" or "psychic dolphin". Characters as this stage are more anima than anything; they are forces at play in the primordial soup of story. When an idea is this new, I try not to focus on it too much. Ideas need time to germinate, and I've found myself disappointed in times past when the potential of the character was so much more exciting than the concrete reality of what they became. Since during this time I'm developing plot and main conflict, I try to move characters around and see who I gravitate towards. This helps story and character grow organically. It's during this time that I try and determine what the character struggles with, the yin and yang of their internal difficulty. For example, I was recently asked to come up with a character for an urban fantasy roleplay, with no real details about th5 Tips on Creating Dynamic Character2 years ago in Personal More Like This

Art and fearDear, deviantart fellow artistsArt and fear2 months ago in Personal More Like This
We all fear for something - whether It's related to our art, lifes, decisions. We fear about how people will react, about how what we do can influence what will happen next. And we are humble about that.
1. Fear of critique.
People will always have their opinions about things. And sometimes they might say it out loud - whether It's a relative, teacher, random observer - the main thing is not to take things way too personal. If It's about your art - even though you put your heart and soul in it, don't be afraid to listen to advice (when it comes from someone whose opinion matters to you) and seek ways for improvement. Ignore trolls and surround yourself with people who support you and make you happy.
2. Fear of not being good enough.
Just admit that you'll never be good enough and move on. There is always so much to learn and artists work all their lifes to get the skill and make artworks with an honest effor
The 'Method'I'm often asked if I use a projector, a printed canvas or grid for my paintings. The 'Method'1 year ago in Personal More Like This
To be blunt, the answer is simple 'no'.
I do use several vertical & horizontal lines as the guide to put the object in the right position
only when the canvas is big(over 1m high).
The reason I don't use those technical methods is simple;
I'm an old-fashioned man!
I consider myself more of an old craftsman than an artist in modern-day concept.
For me, practicing and perfecting my craft is as important as creating a good piece of art.
Some people say the process doesn't matter as long as you have a good outcome, but I don't believe that.
I don't feel completely happy with the outcome even though it looks near-perfect if I don't feel that my hard work is involved.
I may work much faster and easier if I use a projector or a printed canvas,
but I'd rather train myself harder and harder to be a more skilled and versatile painter.
After all, you won't need to spend that much money on buying a projector and print
Being an ArtistSometimes when I talk to some friends here and I see their works I admire the fact of how expressive some of them can be. Sometimes I told them "You're more artist than me" and to me is true. I say that 'cause many people forget how beauty can be a face and they just want to catch the personality. I like that a lot. Sometimes I'm not able to do that even if I can get realistic portraits. I'm still finding my way in art.Being an Artist3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Maybe other people is more expressive and I can't get still what I'm searching for, but I really try to put my heart there, time, hands, eyes, brain, health, etc. All of my drawings have a meaning and in general there is a sense and all of them explain my life, my present, past and future even if they are commissions.
I try to express how much I appreciate the person or objects I'm drawing. Literally I'm an artist 'cuz I make use of a "technique" but I know the way is long to get that name deeply.
I've been working in a hard commission and the draw

This is why you (and your art) get ignored.People often get the sense of being ignored in the art-scene, especially here online. We all try so hard to get our foot in the door, it's like trying to stuff yourself in an overfull bus like a sardine in a can. This is why you (and your art) get ignored.1 month ago in Personal More Like This
Sometimes you just want to socialize with other artists you admire and you seem to be talking into a brick wall or perhaps you've send your portfolio to a company over a dozen times and still don't even seem to get the smallest response or feedback. I will try and tell you WHY you get ignored and HOW you can get noticed instead.
I will go through the following cases of being ignored:
Do know, that even though being ignored feels very personal it's hardly ever personal at all!
Your comment(s) gets ignored.
It happens ever so often. You notice an artwork or a discussion and you weigh in with your opinion or admiration, perhaps even some feedback? T

1. How did you join dA?
I knew about dA for a long time, before I joined. I think I read about it on a German Ragnarok Online Forum, about 7 years ago. First I was too scared to join, because I thought my art wasn't good enough. In February 2013 I finally gave it a try and it was one of the best art-wise decisions I ever made.
2. What does your username have to do with you?
I wanted a nice and unique name which isn't too hard to remember. It has a bit a Tolkien-elvish touch (-uviel, like in Luthien Tinuviel) and the first part of the name is actually the capital of Switzerland (Bern-). So yeah, very creative! xD
3. What is your current avatar of?
It's Arabell my Assassin Cross from Ragnarok Online. She was my first character and even though I don't play it anym

Yesterday I went to a carnival with my cousin Taylor and her friend Angie. We got there and went on some really scary ass rides. I mean EVERY one was horribly fast and they hurt :/ And every ride except the ferris wheel was operated by an illegal immagrant, I swear. Lol. And to make it worse, Taylor wa in a skirt so she gave like 50 people a free show, XD.
Then we went in line for this one himilaya ride and we got stopped to wait in line until that ride was over, and It BROKE! Like right there! It was gassy smelling and icky..
Well then we left that ride and went to the petting zoo, where I flipped out cause they had a llama. And on the way out some really tall guy came over to taylor and was like "ruuh?" shes like "um..I dont know you.." and he kept sayin those crazy ass words for like two mins, then his mom (?) came over and was all like "omg I'm sorry!! Hes just friendly.." Poor guy. he probably has downs syndro

i will be spending the next couple nights at the carnival that is in my town until sunday.
street life is something that i always wanted to get into more than i have, and i hope eventually i can blossom into it and focus more on other kinds of photography other than taking photos of the usual crap i do.
im just ranting mostly, but thats okay.
and a big thanks to my friend mey ( http://m-a-e-e.deviantart.com/ ) for all of the lovely inspiration she has put into my veins.
