let me first some up the previous of pony generations,
generation 1 appeared on tv in the 80s,
it was made to sell toys, plots were hardly very weighty,
and generation 2 I do not mean to grouse and gripe,
but these characters fall right into the girly stereotype,
and generation 3 is just too awful and too tragic,
so let's jump to number 4 where friendship is magic,
all the characters compelling, and the stellar storytelling,
and the lovely animation brought about great dedication,
this is where we meet the bronies, where they like my little pony,
yes the bros enjoy the ponies so let's go and meet the bronies,
well the growth of brony fandom might simply seem absurd,
true fans adore the show while others gallop to the herd,
for hipster bronies watching pastel ponies has appeal,
though at first it seems ironic soon enough it's very real,
from moderates to starterswho are finding it with hype,
when the bronies they'd invade their favorit

Saturday mornings are super again. Harkening back to the glory days the 1970s and '80s when kids got their weekends going with Super Friends and School House Rock, Cartoon Network is launching DC Nation, a programming block that showcases the heroes of the DC Comics library. Anchoring the hour will be the CGI show Green Lantern: The Animated Series (10am/9c) and the continuation of the first season of Young Justice (10:30am/9:30c). Scattered Throughout the hour are animated shorts and interstitials with news and vignettes from around the DC universe.
Though some of the shorts feature big names like Superman and Batman, many will put the spotlight on "characters we've always wanted to see animated, but that might not be able to support a whole series," says Peter Giardi, senior vice president at Warner Bros. Animation, which is coordinating the block. Among the second-tier characters featured are Black Lightenin
Resources for Flash Animators and DevelopersThis group is largely a collective gallery, I'll admit. It's not as active as it could be.Resources for Flash Animators and Developers3 years ago in Personal More Like This
So, I figure, why not use some of the features as a database for developers? I'm going to make a section for resources for animators on the front page for easy access. Here are some resources I've found useful:
Flashkit is a resource site containing freeware and shareware files, including various audio loops and sound effects, as well as references for Action Script. http://www.flashkit.com/
SoundEffectFactory is a Youtube channel dedicated to providing free, high quality sound effects. They've got a ton: https://www.youtube.com/user/SoundEffectsFactory
Kevin Macleod provides tons of music ROYALTY FREE as long as he's attributed. Overall an awesome resource. http://incompetech.com/
Stickpage has a compilation post of various weapon, action, and miscellaneous sound effects, all for free. http://forums.stickpage.com/showthread.php?37139-One-Stop-Shop-Sound-FX-Resource-Center-downloadable
My Two BitsI wanted to take a moment and highlight Sethisto’s recent post over at Equestria Daily concerning the fan base and fan reactions to new episodes of My Little Pony.My Two Bits3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Now, me, I happen to be a total nobody. I draw some stuff and spend most of my time just talking with awesome people and enjoying a sense of community with all you wonderful friends, bronies, and Equestrians. But I have noticed, at least within the past month or so, a slow march away from all the good and noble and kind behavior that has been a hallmark of out fandom since its inception. Specifically, this has been taking the form of pretty nasty and harsh criticisms of the show itself, from episode to episode. I don’t know if this is coming from a sense of familiarity with the source material or perhaps it’s the fact the creators and producers have been so open to interacting with us t

Season Wrap UpWell, season 2 has finally come to a close, and I'm sitting here and looking back on it all, with a few thoughts I want to share.Season Wrap Up3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I just want to say thank you (again) to everyone that watched and enjoyed the MLP season finale this weekend. There were lots of hard nights and long hours from all of us on the DHX crew to make it the best would possibly could. Of course, there are things that are always going to be imperfect, but overall from what I gather, it seemed well-received.
I was also shocked at how many people recognized my OC pony that made a small cameo in this weekend's episode. As a blanket response to a lot of the same questions I've been getting all weekend: No, I did not voice her and I'm unsure as to who did. I would assume just one of the regular VA's. She was put in kind of last minute. The artist who drew her in the storyboard, made her look like my pony (just a coincidence), and after seeing i
The erasure of human history.Let me tell you a little bit about the House of Wisdom. The erasure of human history.2 months ago in Personal More Like This
It was founded in the 8th century, eventually becoming based in Baghdad, and was a major intellectual centre during the Islamic Golden Age. Scholars there made it their business to collect as much information as they could, from all corners of the known world. They would collect books and texts and return them home for translation. It made the people of the Islamic world among the most culturally advanced on the planet.
They constructed astronomical observatories, they forwarded the science of medicine, mathematics, chemistry, zoology, geography and cartography. They drew upon the work of both those who had come before, and their contemporaries, and then advanced it. Many inventions from the Islamic Golden Age have had a legacy that lasts up until this very day:
So, what happened? If the House of Wisdom was such a fountain of knowledge a
My thoughts on the MLP Season 3 finale...First of all, I would like to say congrats to Daniel Ingram for doing a swell job making a musical episode. I don't think I've ever seen this many songs in such a short amount of TV before, and the sheer variety of tunes was quite a treat for the ears. I also loved all the continuity callbacks, like Pinkamena, Spike's 7 hour long bubble bath, etc. The episode was definitely full of emotion, and it definitely affected me in a big way.My thoughts on the MLP Season 3 finale...2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Having said that, not all the emotion I felt was good. The heartwarmingness of seeing Twilight bring her friends back to their real destinies quickly gave way to dread when I saw her teleported to an ethereal plane with Princess Celestia who congratulates her, and I instantly started having flashbacks of the final episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion. What followed kind of left me feeling empty, and even though I knew which emotional buttons the episode was supposed to be pushing, its attempts fell flat on me, and left me instead feeling worried.
Lived Long and ProsperedThe great Leonard Nimoy has died, age 83.Lived Long and Prospered2 months ago in Personal More Like This
There’s not really much I can write about the chap or his impact on sci-fi culture that you’re not already aware of. We all knew and loved him as Spock from Star Trek. Hell, I named one of my webcomic’s characters after him.
Nimoy never forgot about his fans, either, and how it is they who ensured his lasting popularity. It’s telling that it was he who cameoed in the recent Trek films and not Shatner.
Being the awesome man he was, his final words to the public (by way of twitter) were “LLAP”.
“Live Long and Prosper”.

Quickie update-- thanks and apologiesHey all---- I thought I'd come up for air for a few seconds to give a quick update.Quickie update-- thanks and apologies3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I've been seeing lots of comments asking about why I don't answer messages or post more art. I want to offer my apologies. I just get so, so many notes, and my work is especially demanding these days. To top it all off, the last 6 months have been kind of rough for me personally and the combination of all these elements just means I don't have the time to answer.
Still, I want to thank every one for the constant supply of kind words, inspiring stories and compliments. I do get to read most of your notes (I think--- I hope!!) and the vast majority are so thoughtful. And with the kind of year I've had, it really lifts my spirits.
I'm hoping that by the end of the year, maybe during Thanksgiving or Christmas break, I'll be able to put together an FAQ. Lots of people ask for advice on how to get into animation, and I plan on answering that on

so uhm, what the hell...?*AHEM* I was on youtube, and I found this set of videos about this lady who brings people on her "Christian" show and they rant about how modern children TV shows, video games, and books are so called "satanic" I watched a bit of it, and at first I thought "Are you kidding me...? ARE-YOU-KIDDING-ME?!?!?"so uhm, what the hell...?3 years ago in Personal More Like This
So first they were ranting about Pokemon. Which that, Mario, and Legend of Zelda are the video games I grew up on and still play. First of all, Pokemon was declared innocent by the Pope (at least I think so) as using you're imagination and bondage of animals. So seriously, what the hell is wrong with this lady?
And guess what they go on about next? MINECRAFT!
How is Minecraft satanic? It's basically legos, add survival and monsters to it, and that's Minecraft.
This is what the fat guy said: "It's the thing, where you go into a little world and place these things called "blocks" and you can compete against your friends. I had to pull my grandson away from it. It

I know I haven't been around much and it's also because I am terrible at updating my journal on DeviantArt and I'm getting notes asking if I'm dead ... WELL, I am sorry to disappoint, but I am not dead yet and I'm still around, working, eating, living, all that standard people stuff.
SO HERE, HAVE A RANDOM COMIC FOR NOW, which happened while Dexter and I were on our trip in Paris LAST YEAR that I haven't actually drawn until now (I am so late for everything ) :
And something about Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Pumpkin Pie, Fall, Halloween, Turkeys, etc etc in case I forget again and don't update this journal until NEXT YEAR.

Sorry about before guys! A good friend has helped me sort this out today and is going to help me manage entries. I'm pleased with the rules we've written up and think they are fair so am confident to go ahead and hold this giveaway!
Step 1- To enter the giveaway all you have to do is favourite this journal, share it on your page and watch me! This gives you one entry!
Step 2- Please complete step one, this will give you one entry. If you want to have more of a chance at winning, you can gain a second entry by drawing up a picture of my OC, Dreamweaver (for references, there is a custom box on my main page which contains several images of her). It doesn't have to be perfect, the competiton isn't judged on the picture itself, it just acts an extra entry. I'm happy for people to simplify her, use a base etc, please just keep the images fluffy and cut

I’m rather irked that anyone would think that, after all this time, I would actually plagiarise anything. Parody for the sake of comedy, sure, but not flat-out copy.
Let me tell you what I know: the creative process grants you access to infinite possibilities. As such, I have never, ever felt the need to copy someone’s work. If I am aware of something that exists, I veer away from it. Partly because it would just feel wrong to steal someone else’s ideas, but mostly because….it’s boring! I get a kick out of devising new things. It’s one of the most enjoyable and satisfying endeavours you can pursue.
