Gaming Galaxy: Grand Terminus Alliance Breaks Sales Records
Serpent Nebula, Widow System, the Citadel, Zakera Ward ,October 3, 2196
Grick: Hello and welcome to another edition of Gaming Galaxy, with me, Grick, your favorite salarian gamer. On the show today we will be talking about Grant Terminus Alliance 2 and its record breaking performance up to date. At two hundred and seventy million credits it is the most expensive game developed by any developers in this cycle. A huge risk on the side of North Star, but one that has payed off handsomely shattered first day sales records reaching a whopping eight hundred million credits on release day and passed the one billion credit mark three days after that. The last record holder, Shadow Ops, managed a five hundred million credit pay day on release and it took fifteen days for it to reach the billion credit mark. To discuss what that means for the industry we have Ben Sterling from The Eludist back on the show. Welcome back Ben!

"No word yet," said Miranda through the vid link.
"Nope. I'm still sitting here... waiting," I said.
"My offer stands, Theo."
"I appreciate it. And who knows, I may take you up on it. Truth be told I wish you were here with me."
"Need me to hold your hand?" she said with that devilish Lawson grin.
"Nah, I just got used to having my girlfriend around."
"Girlfriend? I could get use to the sound of that."
"The last month ranks as one the top two vacations I have ever had?"
"Sure, right there with my first trip to Disney World."
"You are comparing our time together with a trip to an amusement park?" she said. By the tone of her voice I had better drop the shovel before I dug myself any deeper.
Too bad I was born a rebel, "Sure! I mean, one hand you have my first visit, as a seven year old to the happiest place on Earth," her scowl looked

LOREK, JALNOR- An massive explosion rocked the skies above Jalnor late last night and signaled the end to months of bloody street fighting in the capital city. Government forces laid down their arms after reports that the local dictator shuttle exploded as it escaped the planet. While L'icos promised to fight to the bitter end, it seems that he chose to flee as his forces collapsed under continued pressure from so called, "Freedom Battalions" associated with the recently formed Batarian Assembly. L'icos last message to his followers at midnight, local time, accused the Citadel Council of, "waging a war of aggression against the batarian people," and, "urged continued resistance against those who perverted the batarian way of life," unquote.

Shepard stared at the sunset. She marveled at how the sunlight flickered as long lines of air cars zoomed past. A multitude of workers, friends, family, people going about their business, some going home, others to a club, maybe even on their way to some far away destination across the galaxy. By now news of the destruction of the Bahak system spread through out the galaxy. The batarians were already blaming the Alliance, the Alliance was calling her back home and all the while the Reapers were closing in to exterminate all sentient life.
Three-hundred lives lost, no, sacrificed, by her hand, to buy the galaxy a few more months.
Three-hundred thousand yesterday to save a trillion tomorrow from a fate worse than death.
Is submission not preferable to extinction?

"Did you remember your toothbrush? You bloody well better have remembered your toothbrush."
Samantha Traynor rolled her eyes at the orange holo screen on her Omni-tool. "Yes, Dad. I packed my toothbrush." ...Though her right hand did steal a quick feel in the red satchel at her side. Just to be sure. Her fingertips brushed against a smooth, familiar handle.
Whew. That would have been embarrassing. And bad for my gums.
On the other end, Geoffrey Traynor narrowed his eyes in mock seriousness. "Because if I find it in the bathroom, sprog, I'm selling it on the black market. Your mum and I will live like kings. We will be the envy of all the prefabs."
"Your oblique commentary that you paid far too much for my amazing toothbrush is noted, Father," Sam quipped formally. "Unfortunately for you and mum, you will not be able to retire early from Cision Pro Mark-4 resales. You'll have to get rich the old fashioned way."

Lunch on the CitadelShe had never been to the Presidium before -- simulated sky and sun, vibrant vegetation, the steady hiss of the fountains in the pool below, and everything gleaming silver and white. It was… nice, she supposed, but it all had a feeling of falseness about it. Traynor’s gaze met her companion’s across the table. Her company, at least, was more genuine than their surroundings. Wearing a rose sundress that complimented her golden brown skin, her short chestnut hair swept and spiked up in the front, Melinda Shepard smiled a little sheepishly at her. So it looks like you guys have enjoyed 25, that's good. Sorry the next few chapters will be short but again, I'm working with newer stuff, primarily about Leela but I'm just trying to figure her out a little more that's all. And I apparently fell into some very old, and very bad habits when writing this one .hence it took much longer to edit. *sighs*
not my best chapter
So...here ya go guys.
And for the love of God, thank Illusionsfire76 for making this thing palpable. Seriously she did an awesome job.

There are few places in her life Leela had ever felt truly safe.If pressed she had no trouble telling anyone that she would always felt safest in her bed. Whether it was her lumpy one aboard the Normandy, or the one in her mother's quarters, she never had trouble falling asleep. Whether it was alone during a firefight or cu

Korrak disliked little intel before assignments. As a member of the Special Intervention Unit of the Batarian Hegemony, he was taught to be brutal and efficient. The first part was easy for him, being raised on Khar'Shan in the last three decades ensured he would go to any lengths for the sake of a mission. The second part, however, was being crippled by lack of intel. Nearly an hour ago, he had been tasked with responding to a distress call several clicks out. A Batarian Science Team had gone dark.
Korrak's dark, empty pair of eyes followed his hands movements as he proceeded through one of his normal equipment checks. His ear, his good ear, heard the metallic clamp give a satisfying click as he attached a pair of incendiary grenades to his chest rig. His maroon red armor seemed melted into his worn, tan hide of a body. Korrak was proud of th

Something was up.
No-one knew what, of course. The only 'intel' was the whispered rumours spread throughout the camp, and those whispers were never reliable. But in the past few days, convoys had arrived from elsewhere from as near as Bletchley to Scotland and even mainland Europe. Obviously, command (or what passed for command these days) was up to something big.
Annoyingly, Major Coates was being very tight lipped about it.
"You know the rules, Bob," shrugged Corporal Graham Smith as he checked his battered M-96 Mattock rifle, "Keeps the comms quiet unless it's absolutely necessary. Otherwise we risk broadcasting the whole damn plan to the Reapers."
"Like that'd make a difference," sniffed Private Bob Andrews, "How much did we lose on the Mil Keynes raid? Thirty men? Forty? Not easily replaceable, Gray."
The two soldiers were perched on a destroyed wall that had once been the Goldington Middle School. Now it was empty and ruined, j

Commander Shepard looked out the window of Alliance Headquarters, staring peacefully at the garden below. Despite the fact that he was still technically a civilian in this large building, he already felt at home in it. Vega left him in the waiting room, to tell his superiors that the discharged commander had finally arrived. Until then, Shepard just continued to look at the view, which by comparison to the one in his apartment, had a lot more plant life. A sight that he was more than grateful for, for the sake of variety at least. He suddenly felt a slight pang in his head. He groaned irritably for forgetting to take his morning aspirin, but then noticed someone playing in the garden.
It was a small boy, probably ten years old, wearing a white hoodie sweater. He had crisp blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes, and small baggy jeans. He was playing around outside, with the model of the Normandy in his hands. Running around with it, no doubt dreaming o

Two nights before the Pilgrimage, the Human citizens of the Citadel's Presidium were fast asleep. The station had reached its sleep cycle, which was following the standard Earth time. It was inconvenient for most species who come from worlds where days and nights were a lot longer or shorter than Earth's, so the shiplag was always immense. But those were the new rules put into action by the Council of "New" Citadel Space. One Human in particular though, was taking the night shift to her advantage, or at least as much of an advantage she had left.
Former reporter for Westerlund News, Khalisah al-Jilani, was in the confines of her apartment. She always felt fortunate that she could afford a place in the Presidium at all considering how her bank accounts usually looked nowadays, but being a freelance reporter does hold some benefits. After letting Shepard make her look like an idiot after her first interview with him, getting punched in the second, and head-

The mission was sketchy at best. Still, strange reports from the planet could not be ignored. They were even supposed to get backup. Krogan commandos. I blink at the faint voice, but all I see is darkness. The first thing I feel is pain as I regain consciousness, my whole body is aching. I try to move but I can’t, it hurts to even try.
“H-he” I cough with a raspy voice. “I’m…here!” I call out in a weak moan with all my strength.
I don’t know if they heard me or not. I don’t even know what’s up and down, my whole head is spinning.
The next time I open my eyes I see a flash of light across the ceiling and footsteps approaching. One of the flashlights hit me straight in the eyes between all the rubble. It’s blinding and I hear the man call for the others.
They found me. A wave of relief washes over me and mixed with the pain it’s a strange sensation.
Suddenly the rubble covering most of my face is lifted off and a man is looking down at me.

Leaning against the large window that made the observation deck above the C-Sec cafeteria, arms folded, legs crossed like he didn't have a care in the universe in that moment, Titus leered down, with blazing violaceous eyes. He watched the troops move about at lunch in their territorial groups. The enforcement sat with their own, as did investigations, customs, network, and special response and patrol groups. But what was more interesting, they were even more divided than that. They also sat in their species group. A few more brazen of the Turian men chatted and flirted with the Asari of their division. But these were no meek maids; these were hardened, commandos. And usually knew how to put down a Turian male gently, or not so gently.
Then there were the Salarian's, who normally seemed more comfortable in customs, investigations or network divisions than being an actual ground troop. They usually bumbled together no matter what their division.
Then there was the tiny group of Humans,

Liara enjoyed these little moments sitting in the observation deck. She loved sneaking back there late at night while Shepard and the rest of the Normandy crew were fast asleep. Apart from EDI who sometimes even joined Liara. But not tonight. EDI knew when Liara needed some time for herself. A small shudder in her voice, a slight slump when she walked, taking a deep breath before she left her personal quarters. EDI had learned to pick up on these small things organics did, no matter how hard they tried to keep their true feelings and thoughts hidden.
Liara had experienced a particularly hard couple of days. EDI didn’t need to scan hard for social cues and thought it best to let her be. Five days ago Liara saw the destruction of her homeworld first handed. Thousands of years of civilization and culture wiped away in a matter of hours. But even worse, Liara witnessed the place where she had grown up, her home, being obliterated.

Despite that, Thane kept checking his omni-tool every few minutes, hoping that he'll be able to contact Earth, to contact his Siha.
