But, something happened! I got a feeling, one that had been missing most my life. Bliss, that I could control someone else's life in my very own hands! Watch the fire go out of their eyes! Oh, and how much joy their screams have brought me! Ha! They all deserved it!
How could you call me a monster? If anything, I am an angel!

The smell of death lingering in the air,
Blood splattered on everything I wear.
Motive or disease;
A quick kill just doesn't please.
The loud tortured screams,
Tears flowing in streams.
I cause quite a scare,
Limbs of my victims strewn here and there.
They scream that I'm going to Hell,
But oh, very well.
It's better than this society that fell.
I always get away,
In this game that I play,
I love to kill every night and day.
And I will not cry
Over the day I will die,
Because death and I aren't very shy.
I'll kill to my demise,
And I will say no goodbyes,
For it's in the ground where all my friends lie.

The DarkI idly strolled down the well-worn pathways through the trees yellowstone national park, basking in the tranquility of a pleasant saturday morning out in the wild. Despite how thick this forest was, gently blew past me a cool breeze as I walked, earning me a sigh of relief as I felt the sweat trickle down the sides of my face and down past my neck. I heard the cacophony of the birds up in the trees making their cries and calls. Every now and then I heard a flutter of wings as one took flight. A warm, summer day. This was relaxing, after so much stress in school, I was finally at peace. Such was the beauty of Yellowstone Park, where no matter what happens, it never seems to fail in creating such a strong sense of tranquility. It was comparable to being on another world. With the hustle and bustle of daily life in the city, as well as the demanding schedule of a full time job, it was hard to imagine that this place was actually on Earth, let alone so close to my home.

It was a cold, wet afternoon in a small town in England. The typical British weather was in full effect right now, and most of the people had taken refuge in their houses, with a few heading out with umbrellas, needing to get their daily tasks done.
Peter was among those people.
He wouldn't have left his warm comfy armchair in front of the fireplace in a day like that if it wasn't for the fact that the local Gamestop just got a few hundred copies of a game he really wanted to get, and although he did preorder it, considering the amount of people who did the same he really wanted to make sure he could snatch a copy as soon as possible.
He tried not to run as he made his way to the store, mostly to avoid breaking the umbrella's protection, but also because the pavement was slippery, and falling only to get splashed by a car driving by wasn't something he really wanted to experience again.
He was only a few hundred feet away from the store when for some reason h

The constant dull roar of Austin Airlines Irkut MS-21's jetliners taking off from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport behind me was an annoyance. Despite the extensive soundproofing of the apartment complex, the noise still occasionally managed to rattle some things in my apartment. I muttered an expletive and rolled back over into the bed. I stared at the fast moving ceiling fan going around and around. Another roar, smaller but still noticeable, sounded as a 787-9 came in, its bright landing lights illuminating my apartment somewhat. I groaned in annoyance as the light quickly passed.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love planes of all sorts, the big ones, little ones, old ones, new ones and so on, however, this is just plain ridiculous. A plane landing or takin
Beginnnings - Part OneDawn broke; bathing the land below with golden sunrays. The green rolling hills basked in the light, while the morning fog captured it, gaining a warm yellow glow. The old woods seemingly took a breath of the life that hummed in the air, awakening the robins and small birds that nested within the boughs. They fluttered out into the howling wind, allowing themselves to be carried away into the distance. The wind stirred, ruffling the landscape, lifting up tiny feathers and debris from the ground. A small blue feather detached itself from the rest; it sought adventure. Rushing past the others, it headed for the small village below. It was just now awakening, with smoke beginning to rise above the chimneys as the people inside rose from their sleep, eager to find out what the day might have in store.Beginnnings - Part One4 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

Tears dripped down my mud-stained face and onto my blood-stained pants. I see the world in shades of blue
I am lost
I have been waiting for you

And then I saw a peculiar little girl in white dress – you. Your left hand was occupied by a tattered doll. Your right was wet from wiping your tears. Your eyes began to water again, but I caught it for you that time. I still had a shred of humanity left, gnawing at my heart's strings to care for you, to pity, and to comfort. You were scared by my face, but I mustered a smile, and told you not to fear. You told me that you were lonely, that you were unloved.
And from that point on, I never left your side.
Do you remember all those years ago – when I saved your life? I remember it perfectly. The cursed fellow had threatened you, and I had intervened. You were bigger, but still, I needed to protect you. He chased you up the tower,

Jessie had always been obsessed with dragons, ever since he was a little kid, which is why he was overjoyed when he got a good deal on a cabin in a section of mountains known as "Dragon Alley" so called because more people had claimed to have seen dragons there over the years than anywhere else. He had to split the bills with his friend Will, but it was still great.
Everyone at work, at school, and even his friends and family told him he was crazy his whole life, but he knew dragons had to be real, there was just too much evidence to support it.
Another thing that made him really glad about the purchase was that the area was full of caves. Anyone who had done the slightest bit of research knew dragons preferred to live in caves, and as part of his research, Jessie planned on exploring every one on his 50 acre propriety.
In his new cabin, he was getting ready to head off for the nearest marked cave on his map "Just promise me you

An extension of How not to Write Love Interests“Faith, in the sense in which I am here using the word, is the art of holding on to things your reason has once accepted, in spite of your changing moods.” - C.S LewisAn extension of How not to Write Love Interests2 years ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
This quote is about faith not love, but you can see how the same logic applies. If faith is not merely to "feel" as if you believe something, why should love be merely to "feel" that you like something?
In the end, faith is remembering you have reason to believe, and love is a choice about how you treat someone. Feelings are irrelevant. They are passing. They are constantly changing, and that's natural. They can indeed play a role in our decisions about relationships, but are a fickle factor to base an entire decision off of. It's like building a house on the sand. We're human beings with intelligence, and there is no such thing as a feeling so powerful we HAVE to act on it-that is fantasy.
What about circumstances? What about age? Can it ever be simply a waste of time?

His milky hide rose up, and up, and up into the sun, until it towered over the trees, the field, and the lake beyond. And while the creature was great in width and height, he cast no shadow, for he was no longer a creature of this world. He hadn't been for a very long time.
He passed along the dusty trail that led through the woods, dark with crumbled pavement and the twisted metal signs of old days and old ways. He traced the path of long dried riverbeds, and as he passed, a soft breeze stirred the ground in his wake. It smelled of sulfur,

Fresh morning air lifted clouds and gulls above the glimmering sea, and drew one young gryfon early from his den. Too early, just before sunrise when forbidden darkness still blanketed the islands.
The sun rose unhurriedly from the sea, and Shard strained against the steep sky, breathing deep, challenging himself to the highest possible dive. The sea spun below him. His mind flickered lightly in the thin air and he shoved down panic. Some would call it too high.
His wings drew in and flapped out sluggishly, feeling separate from his body. He had to bank, to get lower, breathe the deeper air.
Night sparked at the edge of his mind. His dreams flocked up from the night before. Nightmares of the impending initiation hunt.
The hunt! Shard thought wildly. What's the sunmark?
Dreams scattered like crows from Shard's mind.

But I ask you this one question.
Have you ever heard a gryphon sneeze?
Open any book! Read it page for page! You will find wingspan to feather variation but alas!
Not a thing on that time a gryphon sneezed!
But I will tell you one thing...
A gryphon sneezing could be the strangest sound to hear! The silliest sound to hear!
A mighty lions roar and a birds squawk what a shock! Maybe... Just maybe a gryphons sneeze could...
Turn water to wine?
Mountains to dust!
Shake the dead!
The books and legends never spoke about such events not happening!
When a gryphon goes to sneeze shove a paw or claw on it don't let it sneeze for our sake!
Books seemed to be unable to write of such events! How could they have missed such a thing?
I ask how?
I ask why?

There was a dream all men shared

All through the ages that we dreamt
Till *god took us, so we went
Wars and battles you saw all
Life and death with no recall
But still you shine on with hope
The kind that we do not deserve
All the things from up there
And what we disregard down here
Sea of blue and brown patches
Filled with the mess of progress
Stepping off-world was a dream
Uniting the divided
Scars left by meteorites
Now joined by rubber soled prints
