I will keep you safe.
I will keep you company.
Do you remember all those years ago – when we first met? I remember it perfectly. I was so very close. So very, very close to my last shred of sanity snipping. And then I saw a peculiar little girl in white dress – you. Your left hand was occupied by a tattered doll. Your right was wet from wiping your tears. Your eyes began to water again, but I caught it for you that time. I still had a shred of humanity left, gnawing at my heart's strings to care for you, to pity, and to comfort. You were scared by my face, but I mustered a smile, and told you not to fear. You told me that you were lonely, that you were unloved.
And from that point on, I never left your side.
Do you remember all those years ago – when I saved your life? I remember it perfectly. The cursed fellow had threatened you, and I had intervened. You were bigger, but still, I needed to protect you. He chased you up the tower,

Ray: Alright, the combatants are set. Let’s settle this debate once and for all.
Steel: It’s time for a DEATH BATTLE!!!
All was calm as a massive galleon cruised across the ocean's surface, its lion-head bowsprit and straw-hat wearing Jolly Roger noticeable anywhere. From its deck, one could hear merry music from a fiddle, and the members of the crew either singing or dancing along to it.
Joining them in the festivities was the captain of this ship known to all as "Thousand Sunny". That captain was none other than the famed Straw-Hat Luffy.
The song came to an end and the skeletal fiddler took a bow, his art complete. If he had a proper face, he would have smiled at the cheers.
“WOW!” Luffy said with a broad smile, “Play it again!”
Yet as the crew celebrated, a simple-looking steamboat was coming across their path up ahead. At first, the crew paid no mind to it. That all changed because, just when the skeleton
[America x Reader] My boyfriend does my make-upIt was a normal evening. You were just sitting in your room, playing some games that Kiku showed you recently. Yep, just minding your own business when someone knocked on your door.[America x Reader] My boyfriend does my make-up3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Sighing, you lazily got up to open the door until you heard a voice.
"I'm respecting your privacy by knocking, but asserting my authority as your boyfriend by coming in anyway!"
Cue Alfred storming into your room with a battering ram.
A battering ram.
You knitted your brows. How many more things was he going to destroy in your house? Seriously, your car, your table, your printer what more was he planning to destroy? Your computer?! A malicious glare appeared on your face. No way was he destroying your precious!
"Alfred boyfriends don't destroy their girlfriends' belongings! Do you know how expensive it is to get that wall fixed? Do you?!"
"Come on now, don't be like that, bro! Whatever, I wanted to ask you something! Would you like to-"
"No," came your reply, cutting him off.

"So These are the Evangelions, huh?" The pilot of Getter 1 said. Ryoma Nagare was with his fellow Getta teammates deep within the hangar in NERV headquarters.
"They seem kinda weird." Benkei Kuruma remarked. The pilot of Getter 3 was a former baseball player before joining after the death of Musashi Tomoe, the other Getter 3 pilot.
"The Evangelions are gigantic. I wonder what sort of power source is needed to sustain them?" Hayato Jin wondered aloud. The pilot of Getter 2 had a scientific bent, and was the most intelligent of the three.
"Ryoma." a familiar voice said. Ryoma yelped and turned around to see the squat Professor Saotome behind him.
"Professor Saotome! Warn me before you show up next time!" Ryoma yelled.
"No yelling in front of our host, you idiot. This is my friend and colleague, Dr. Gendo Ikari." Dr. Saotome said. Gendo pushed up his glasses and turned to look down at Saotome.
"These are the pilots of the Getter Robo?" Gendo asked. He exam

Chapter 1: Blood is Beauty
Release One: Pages 1 - 3
THE COLD AIR in Baron Rorke's study did little to calm his nerves. He was expecting visitors this night and they were not the best of company. A shiver of dread ran down his spine and he spent most of the twilight hours staring out of a large window which stood behind his writing desk. It was amazing, he felt, how quickly a man could become attached to a life of luxury; only to be made painfully aware of how easy it was to lose it. War was always a frightening thing, even more so when one had the knowledge and sense to realise that it was no longer an exercise of glory, but a simple festival of bloodshed and cold murder. In war it did not matter if you impaled a stranger on the edge of your sword, such a thing would be punishable in any city or country, but in times of war it became an accepted norm. If the man in front of you wore a different colour, then it was alright to kill him, it was alright to rip him apart fo

Characterization and Nomenclature:
What's in a name?
As an author, one of the most important tasks in writing a story is building a character. Every small trait that a writer leaves, builds, and hints at, draws a reader into the story and gives them an image of each character, be it protagonist, antagonist, or miscellaneous extra. However, many writers overlook one of the strongest traits that a character can have: a name. Nomenclature can be one of the most powerful assets that a writer has in their endless battle to build a lifelike character.
The uses of a name
The craft of literature is always at some level a decision-making process. While names need not always be used, there should always be a conscious decision that a writer makes about a name. When making a conscious decision, one must be able to list the benefits that the choice yields: if one names a character "Charles," they should also to some extent be able to explain why th

History of the Two JapansThe invasion of Japan began on November 1st, 1945 (called X-Day) by US troops against the island of Kyushu. The invasion forces were mainly focused on capturing the cities of Miyazaki, Ariake, and Kushikino and then push north. The Japanese were able to correctly predict most of invasion plans, and what resulted was a bloodbath. American landing craft faced heavy resistance from the Imperial Navy, followed by the combined Imperial Army and Navy Air Services. American loses were great, causing 5 divisions to be transferred from Europe to the Pacific Theater. When American troops finally landed on shore, they faced fierce resistance from the Japanese 16th Area Army. By November 31st, the US 6th Army managed to break through the defenses and by December 5th, their objectives were achieved. The 6th Army then pushed north into Central Kyushu. The American forces were slowed by the aggressive Volunteer Fighting Corps (local militia units), who frequently went after vulnerable supply lines. Chicken Banana Theory
A man walks down the street and encounters another man. This other man believes he is a chicken, and promptly approaches the first man to inform him of this amid a series of chicken-noises. The first man acknowledges this, and hurries past.
Later, the first man is walking back along this same path and encounters the same man, though this time, the other man no longer believes that he is a chicken, but rather a banana.
This is an illogical transition– one cannot logically explain it by tracking the events that led to this mental transfiguration from chicken to banana. You cannot, for example, say that the man woke up thinking he was a chicken, had coffee, went to work, stood by the copier, and suddenly decided at that moment to become a banana. It does not follow any course of logic– it is the realm of insanity.
Consider then the deeper reasons for transition from chicken to banana. Did the man first believe he was a chicken to fulfill some need, then change his st

"Sing us a song, bird man," one of them said. "Go tweet tweet, why don't ya?"
He pushed himself up from the wet pavement with one hand. He looked at his tormenters. They were faceless in the driving rain, just forms with brass knuckles, steel-toed boots, and hate, shrouded with falling water.
"Kiss my ass," he said, his voice buzzing and croaking.
This earned him a kick to the face. He was knocked flat on his back, pain coursing through his beak. It hadn't been broken, lucky him, but it was surely bruised.
"Shut the hell up," someone said.
"You sold your soul for this, now pay the price," the one who stood alone said.
He laughed at this. Staring up at the dark, damp sky, bloodied and bruised, he found it in himsel
Here Comes the FloodThe streets were filled with the sea, its salt water choking the places where cars once puttered about. Right now it was only about three feet deep, but a swollen western tide come nightfall would add another five feet to that. Sea creatures clustered about the lampposts and the door frames, starfish, barnacles, and other denizens of the shallows that were moving into this new real estate. Here Comes the Flood4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Peter sat on top of the old post office, looking down at the sad state of his hometown. No walls had been built here to hold back the ocean, like they had been in Seattle. Here the sea had come creeping up, taking the town, making a new shore somewhere in the middle of it. It drove everyone away, first in great groups, then in ones and twos, all heading away towards the refugee camps to the east. Peter suspected he was the only one left, out of a good 500 people.
He knew that he should go somewhere else, find a place to enjoy himself while he could, like everyone else seemed to be doing; throwing one
