It is the beginning of my eighteenth dry season, the ending of my seventeenth wet season and a few days shy of my day of first breath, when the call of a human ship shattered the serenity of the my forested lands.
The tattoo on my right arm marking my ascension into adult is healing over and the scabs were slowly breaking off, though the bruising still remains. I bump it hard against the edge of a dead tree when the shout echoes through the woods and startles me. I am underneath that dead tree pulling out small plants, plants that only grow in shade and only grow in the most nutritious of soil, when I buck and crack my already sore arm against that damn tree trunk, hard as rock from the aging process. I am attempting to gather herbs in the forest, as shaman apprentices are supposed to be doing, or at least for the youngest of the students.
The tattoo is not torn or damaged, but it bleeding again as I feel with my fingers, spreading out my skin,

Jodie, an 18 year old, 5'4 girl with shoulder length brown hair, was at the moment living on Isla Sorna, however she wasn't alone. She was at a cliff overlooking the ocean and listening to everything around her, thinking about how even though everyone thought this island was dangerous, she thought it was peaceful when she wasn't trying to stay away from carnivores.
Then In the distance she heard the roar of a T-Rex. She smiled; the t-Rex was calling for her. The T-Rex was, in a way, her mother. She doesn't know what happened to her real parents and no one knows exactly what made the T-Rex see her as a T-rex infant to her instead of a meal. No one knows why when the animal saw her, its motherly instincts decided to kick in. Never the less it happened and it was considered a miracle and a mystery. So instead of being eaten, t
Jurassic Park pt. 2The next morning showed to be a beautiful sunny day. At least as sunny as the trees would allow. It was a little humid but it wasn't so humid that it was uncomfortable, even if it was she probably wouldn't notice. She has been here so long she's learned to get use to the weather. Jodie awoke and noticed her mother was still laying down but was awake and watching her, as soon as she noticed Jodie was awake she let out a sound almost like a purring growl and gently nuzzled her. As always Jodie took this to say "Good morning" Jodie chuckled. "Morning mom, you're always up before I am" Jodie sat up cross legged and lightly scratched her neck. The mother closed her eyes and crooned, she liked being scratched, especially when she couldn't do it. She was pretty big, even for a normal T-Rex female. Leeds is the first awake. Shadows of his dreams still echo in his eyes when he paces into the kitchen and startles her.
"You're too quiet." She smiles.
He doesn't. "Did you sleep?"
"I couldn't," she says.
He just nods. She pours him coffee. He drowns it in milk and sugar. They welcome the morning in companionable silence.
"I wanted to be there for him." It's a whisper. He stares at the coffee mug in his hands, seeing something very different. "I saw him get hit. I wanted to be there so bad. I would have gone in, but Vance held me back. Probably saved my life.
"Zack." He stops, almost overwhelmed, then forces himself to go on. "I would do anything for him. I would die for him. But I couldn't be there." His eyes are rimmed with tears.
She lays her hand over his.
Leeds wipes his face.

Sighing, you lazily got up to open the door until you heard a voice.
"I'm respecting your privacy by knocking, but asserting my authority as your boyfriend by coming in anyway!"
Cue Alfred storming into your room with a battering ram.
A battering ram.
You knitted your brows. How many more things was he going to destroy in your house? Seriously, your car, your table, your printer what more was he planning to destroy? Your computer?! A malicious glare appeared on your face. No way was he destroying your precious!
"Alfred boyfriends don't destroy their girlfriends' belongings! Do you know how expensive it is to get that wall fixed? Do you?!"
"Come on now, don't be like that, bro! Whatever, I wanted to ask you something! Would you like to-"
"No," came your reply, cutting him off.

He checked the load in his bolter, and advanced, weapon at the ready, continuing to scan in visible light, infrared, and wireframe overlay. The ripples and folds of the tunnel played tricks on the mind, casting odd shadows and concealing entire caverns behind seemingly solid formations of stone.
“Nileas,” he voxed again. “Brother, do you copy?” Likewise the dense rock played havoc with the vox net. He had no contact with his squad commander, or Imperial forces on the surface, and, up until a quarter-hour ago, only intermittent contact with his battle brother, and that plagued by static. Now it seemed that too was gone.

We have few problems with the sailors. Drunkenness is the foremost problem, causing nuisance for three nights straight after they had landed in our village.
Our alcoholic brew, at its best, is weak compared to their drinks that they guzzle down at their lean-tos and bonfires every night. Occasionally they invite a few of the warriors down for a drink. Brews are exchanged, sometimes food or knick-knacks, then stories, and finally punches. The results are always the same: one of my people faints under the influence of the drink and a fight breaks out.
The village elders meet with the captain on the third night and after the fifth fight to discuss the matter in Shukas center room. Everyone, from the sailors to the villagers, have a fear of Shuka and her home. It is a more logical place to meet than the lodge to avoid unwelcomed ears. It is a long heated discussions raked with tension.

It was true, the van was nowhere near as flashy as a DeLorean, and Stephanie was sure that someone was going to point it out. New employees were always disappointed when they learned this, and there were two new employees today.
Stephanie was standing in the cavernous garage, listening to the approaching sound of two sets of footsteps in the corridor outside. Clay and Cerie Jackson had been hired in a hurry, because for the past month her group had only contained four people, and it needed six before they could set out on their next expedition. She had not yet met either of them, but there were certain things about them that she already knew, the most obvious being that they were somehow related because they had the same last name. The footsteps paused for a moment, as Clay and Cerie rounded a corner and entered the garage. Stephanie sized them up.
Clay and Cerie wore matching Hawaiian T-shirts, cargo shorts, brand-new white sneakers, and a pair of those hats which used to be worn

"Should we all go?" Splash asked.
"No, that'd be too dangerous." Vex sighed, he looked at Arya and then her body, Arya gave him a look and Vex caught it.
"No, no, maybe you should go because you're smaller." Vex suggested and Splash scoffed.
"But she's a female!"
"That doesn't matter. She's smaller so she has less a chance of being seen and-," Vex started but Splash cut him off.
"I don't care if she's smaller! I'm smarter!" Splash hissed.
"If zombies go after her, she probably has a chance of slipping between small spaces and getting away. Or even hiding." Vex hissed and Splash folded his arms.
Arya opened the back of the truck, the streets were deserted and a few of the shops windows had been smashed open. Vex handed her a large bag, "Just incase you find anything. Just get things that you think we'd need."
She slipped out of the truck with her bow in hand and the bag strapped to her back. Vex and Splash watched her as she pushed open the stores door gently and slid inside.

Do you remember all those years ago – when we first met? I remember it perfectly. I was so very close. So very, very close to my last shred of sanity snipping. And then I saw a peculiar little girl in white dress – you. Your left hand was occupied by a tattered doll. Your right was wet from wiping your tears. Your eyes began to water again, but I caught it for you that time. I still had a shred of humanity left, gnawing at my heart's strings to care for you, to pity, and to comfort. You were scared by my face, but I mustered a smile, and told you not to fear. You told me that you were lonely, that you were unloved.
And from that point on, I never left your side.
Do you remember all those years ago – when I saved your life? I remember it perfectly. The cursed fellow had threatened you, and I had intervened. You were bigger, but still, I needed to protect you. He chased you up the tower,

But to call Ryan an Objectivist, or Rapture an undersea version of "Galt's Gulch" is completely false.
I grow tired of people pointing to the game as "Here! Here is why Objectivism doesn't work!", so I decided to explain just why this isn't true (not in any particular order):
5. Starting the game, you have a wonderful sequence in the bathysphere where Ryan is giving a little speech. It's a good speech, and he certainly starts off sounding similar to Rand. But then the screen falls to show the glorious city under the sea, and he says "A city where the artist would not fear the censor, WHERE THE SCIENTIST WOULD NOT BE BOUND BY PETTY MORALITY, where the great would not be constrained by the small!" That capitalized section explains not only why he isn't an Objectivis

All was calm as a massive galleon cruised across the ocean's surface, its lion-head bowsprit and straw-hat wearing Jolly Roger noticeable anywhere. From its deck, one could hear merry music from a fiddle, and the members of the crew either singing or dancing along to it.
Joining them in the festivities was the captain of this ship known to all as "Thousand Sunny". That captain was none other than the famed Straw-Hat Luffy.
The song came to an end and the skeletal fiddler took a bow, his art complete. If he had a proper face, he would have smiled at the cheers.
“WOW!” Luffy said with a broad smile, “Play it again!”
Yet as the crew celebrated, a simple-looking steamboat was coming across their path up ahead. At first, the crew paid no mind to it. That all changed because, just when the skeleton

THE COLD AIR in Baron Rorke's study did little to calm his nerves. He was expecting visitors this night and they were not the best of company. A shiver of dread ran down his spine and he spent most of the twilight hours staring out of a large window which stood behind his writing desk. It was amazing, he felt, how quickly a man could become attached to a life of luxury; only to be made painfully aware of how easy it was to lose it. War was always a frightening thing, even more so when one had the knowledge and sense to realise that it was no longer an exercise of glory, but a simple festival of bloodshed and cold murder. In war it did not matter if you impaled a stranger on the edge of your sword, such a thing would be punishable in any city or country, but in times of war it became an accepted norm. If the man in front of you wore a different colour, then it was alright to kill him, it was alright to rip him apart fo

He gave little thought to their control. His mind was focused on making the most of sensory information diminished by the storm. Sounds and smells were difficult to pinpoint. Chicken Banana Theory
A man walks down the street and encounters another man. This other man believes he is a chicken, and promptly approaches the first man to inform him of this amid a series of chicken-noises. The first man acknowledges this, and hurries past.
Later, the first man is walking back along this same path and encounters the same man, though this time, the other man no longer believes that he is a chicken, but rather a banana.
This is an illogical transition– one cannot logically explain it by tracking the events that led to this mental transfiguration from chicken to banana. You cannot, for example, say that the man woke up thinking he was a chicken, had coffee, went to work, stood by the copier, and suddenly decided at that moment to become a banana. It does not follow any course of logic– it is the realm of insanity.
Consider then the deeper reasons for transition from chicken to banana. Did the man first believe he was a chicken to fulfill some need, then change his st
