Finally! After sooo long, here are some fresh stuff!

I actually started these for a small contest by Blizzard Entertainment for Diablo 3 but I wasn't able to finish them and only entered two. Then I realized the potential in doing high quality D3 fanart for publicity. Not only was it for good press but would also serve as a good practice for me. Then, eventually, it turned into this 3 month beast of a personal project. I actually started mid-April and finished just two days ago working on these on and off after my day-job.

My art direction was like this because I wanted a glamour/fashion/action type of full body portraits. I wanted to stay close to the original designs while giving it a little twist. Also, since Diablo 3 is a top-down type of game, seeing action and skills up close would be very interesting for the target audience. Although it was very fun to do, I actually got burnt out just because it took soo long to finish. (blame my busy day-job haha) Still, I got what I wanted and learned a ton about composition, posing, anatomy, lighting, armor designs, and most importantly, about being PATIENT and STICKING to your plan to the end.

ALSO, I have video processes of these here! [link]

This is my entry for the Diablo 3 fanart contest by Blizzard.
...well, not exactly this. I sent in what I had right before the deadline and finished it later.
It's a bit sad that I cannot sent in this (definetely better) piece, but I worked on this to improve my own artistic skills, not to win a contest.

Does the picture even need an explanation?
Diablo 3, the monk. If I had the game, I would propably play one. (or a barbarian)
I think the spell is called "Inner Sanctuary".

You might also be interested in my other works, like the Warcraft Ogre Monk:

EDIT: Bigger file preview! YAY!

Wohoo!! can't believe it's one year already.

I made this as a request for Vaeflare from Blizzard. (It will be featured in their site this week! yippee!) Anyway it's kinda rushed compared to my usual stuff... I learned a lot on how to cram!

I wanted to give it an horror movie poster vibe while sort of staying near my previous Diablo 3 illustrations.

Hope I did it justice.. XD

PS: Video process soon! Let me wrap up some other stuff first!

Well, my most recent hi-res file got corrupted and I've been staring at this homework assignment for far too long, so I'll call it done for now. Thanks for looking! done for a Diablo 3 assignment in my Pitch Illustration class. Cheers!

This was the last piece that I painted while working on Diablo 3. The piece was done after all of the promo materials for the game were printed or sent out so it hasn't been seen very much.
