I have had this stone around for over a year (which spans most of my wire wrapping career!). I have been waiting for a flash of inspiration, and I finally came up with a wrap that would do it justice. The color swirls and stipples in the stone are more obvious to human eyes than to the camera, but it gives a good idea of what apache sage jasper looks like. I have a better photo of the stone but it doesn't show off the piece as well, so you'll probably have to head over to etsy to see it... once I post it there.

Made this a while back as my first real experiment with gold foil.
Cobalt center, silver- and then gold foil. Something weird happened though. It was like the foil became a skin around the core and then a huge air bubble appeared, broke through the surface and made a hole, showing off the blue center.
Instead of trying to mend it I decided to go with it and covered the hole with clear glass to trap a little bubble in it.
I love the effect of it and I doubt I will be able to repeat the process.
I tried to set this as a hat pin, messed up the glue, had it coated in sticky masses of epoxy, drenched it in acetone, forgot it overnight and it came up a sludgy mess. *facepalm*
Recently I could affort purchasing diamond polishing paste and found the marble in one of my boxes, thinking "Oh, hello! I remember you!".. and could polish off that sludged, almost etched surface.
I decided to make a finding for it and gilding the bail to match the gold foil inside. I took some photos, got home, showed the pendant to my mother, telling her I was planning to put it up on Etsy.
..She went "Selling it? ...JOINK! MINE!".. So, this didn't even make my shop before it was sold!
