It was late at night and Jay still wasn't back from the airport. Their flight was tomorrow and there was some trouble that he'd had to go deal with in person, Sam wasn't sure what it was and hadn't thought to ask so he just sat there watching the vid with Tam and Feile, nursing a beer waiting. Earlier, Feile had laid her head down in her mate's lap was now softly snoring while he stroked her shoulder. Once he was sure she was asleep he pulled a pouch out of his pocket and rolled some of the contents up in a swatch of paper. Lighting it, he took a puff at it and slowly exhaled a stream of smoke from his nostrils before offering it to Sam.
Sam smiled and put his hand up, "No thanks, I'm good with the beer."
He nodded and leaned back into the couch again, "It helps with the pain. Once in a while I can still feel my arm."

Hand on the tiller, Bom looked up at the sails of her little sailboat 'Sanctuary' again and laughed to herself. The technology was impossibly obsolete yet for some reason her Dad had insisted she learned how to sail. It seemed idiotic to her at the time but now she was using it to escape his reach for a few months. No transponders, no power tap, their wireless devices were all deactivated Not even a fuel purchase at the port they left from. There was nothing to give her away; it would be as if she'd vanished off the face of Prime.
She looked back to Sam stretched out on the other side of the small boat's cockpit. He was asleep now that the drugs were taking effect, and she was glad he wasn't being bothered by seasickness anymore. It was going to be just the two of them all summer long; no classes, no fighting with the neighbors, and

Sam was pulled tight against the restraints as the ship tumbled, somewhere forward he heard a high-pitched rushing that slowly diminished as the rotation slowed. The straps holding him in his bunk slackened and the intercom blared, "Secure from maneuver; main torch reignition in 3 2 1 "
The familiar rumble filled Sam's ears again and he was pressed down into his bunk again. He released the restraining harness and laid there a moment in thought as Pitja's voice came over the intercom again, "Alright everyone, less than 70 hours to Earth parking orbit. Make sure you've got your leave requests filled out and all of your belongings accounted for."
Jay bounded out of his bunk toward their shared desk on the far wall, "Woo-HOO, you hear that? Almost home, I gotta call Dad and see if he can meet us at the Spaceport."

Her hair was crisp in golden brown, cascading to the curve of her back. It was soft and silky, almost surreal that a human could even have hair that perfect. Her face was fair and free from any blemishes. Her nose held such a sculpture; some even said it resembled her father. Her cheeks were rosy. Not as rosy red as her dear friend's, but enough to reveal the adorableness that was her. Even so, this girl shaded her girlish features with her tomboyish looks and personality.
Her attitude was quite rash. Her mouth could bring such nonsensical words. Even with her feminine beauty, her strength and feisty personality could fool a man easily. Her patience wasn't always thick. Rationality was even questioned in the tall brunette. Once aggravated, and the girl could unleash all kinds of hell.
But she wasn't always like that.

Lyra looked out her window. A layer of white, powdery snow had covered the ground. She thought the small town of New Bark looked like a Norman Rockwell painting in a way. There was a large Christmas tree in the town square just visible from her second story room, even if it was nightime. Today was Christmas Eve and she was hoping he would come.
She looked to her Flaaffy who was snuggled next to the heater in her room, "Do you think he'll come?" Lyra turned back to the window, "He has to come." She sighed and propped her head in her hand, looking out the window pane.
"Flaaf," Flaaffy yawned, shaking her head at her trainer's impatience.
Lyra jumped up from her spot near the window, startling Flaaffy, "He's here! He's here!" She rushed from her bedroom and down the stairs. Flying past her Maganium who managed to grab her trainer by the collar before she slipped to the hardwood floor from running in socks.

As he showed her around she took notice of a second door in the bath, "And where does this go?"

He wasn't looking forward to facing the Captain again, he was sure she'd still be displeased with him. His heart sank when he saw her look through the hatchway window and signal she was ready. Swallowing his pride, he opened the hatch and she stepped through, "Hey there Lieutenant, you guys miss us?"
Her greeting eased his nerves somewhat, nodding, he let himself smile somewhat, "Yes ma'am, we're ready to go."
She looked him over and nodded, "alright, so your report says we've got four evacuees, three of them casualties. One ambulatory with a heart condition and the other two litter-bound, is that correct?"

He'd felt uncomfortable the entire time, like he didn't really belong here. Luckily Jay had dominated the time with his dad so there hadn't been much expected of him.
His attention was pulled back to the car by an outburst of laughter. Jay got out of the car along with the elder Stensen and the two embraced one another for a moment before he jogged to catch up with Sam. Two years… it had been just over two years since that chance meeting on Earth. In all that time they'd only managed to see each other about a half-dozen times. Sam stared at the words hovering in front of him and blinked.
'We'll literally be worlds apart' was what she had said. This would put them farther apart than that. As hard as it had sometimes been, this was just too much to ask of anybody. He'd been selfish… he had known it the entire time. But it had just felt too good to let go of.
Maybe it was time.

And currently, things are looking bleak.
In the future I do not see a sky. I see a black blanket suffocating the land. No light, no stars. Just the endless, eternal, enduring darkness.
In the future I do not see land. I see ashes instead. Ashes everywhere and on everything. In some places they rain down like snow. Others they just rest in mountains. But no matter where you look, there is no soil. No life.
In the future I do not see an ocean. Waves that used to rush onto the land, cascading upon one another; are now nonexistent. In their place is stillness. Silence. And the water itself is no longer water at all. But black, slimy muck instead.
The land is rotting away.
I have seen the future, and I am displeased. I am saddened. I am hurt. And I don’t know what I can

Bad things happen to people, we just have to get through it. That's what my cousin said. She's very nice and smart. I didn't mind so much. But sometimes when I look out the window from my bed. I would see kids laughing and playing. And I was here. Alone with the people who love me.
It was bittersweet. I have a loving family, most people don't. but they do have friends, and most people don't. I had a loving family. And I had no friends. Not even pokemons, I was too weak to have one. I had my family. That's what matters, I have people who love me.
Like I said. I didn't mind my sickness.

I wish things could go back to being like they were

I have trouble seeing myself with anyone but
