A Big thank you to our watchers + random FeatureI just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all our fans and watchers.A Big thank you to our watchers + random Feature2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I must say that when we began making Tiny Top Hats back in January of this year, I never expected to get such a wonderful support and reception!
So it occurred to me today I should do something back! I'd like to do a random feature of some of our awesome watchers and help everyone spread their art and maybe support you guys like you have so lovingly supported us :')
So I'd like to Feature the first 10 20 people here in this journal to post "I would like to be featured", and post in the Journal. I'll pick out some things from your gallery to feature as well!
I just wanted everyone to know how deeply it has moved me, all your support (And patience with me xD) and I would like to feature a lot of artists down the road if everyone likes the idea ^__^
Thanks again and again guys :iconawwwplz:
**Edit: I didn't realize so many would want to be featured, so I'll bump up the number to 20

STREET PHOTOGRAPHY TUTORIAL - PART ONE
THE HUMAN SUBJECT
(article from photo4u.it - il portale italiano della fotografia translated and adapted to dA by myraincheck)
Let's close our eyes and imagine going out in the streets and looking for unusual things. What do we expect to find? People, first of all.
That's good, the HUMAN PRESENCE is a fundamental element of street photography.
If we want to use only this ingredient, we'll be able to realize a true street photo only if the person we capture will have something unusual or interesting or is doing something unusual or interesting. Otherwise we'll have a good portrait, an enviromental portrait, a wide portrait whatever, but not a street photo.
Photography Troubleshooting: Snap to ProThis week we bring you another issue of Troubleshooting for Photographers, to hopefully give you some tips and explanations behind how to make your Photography look that little bit more professional. Aeirmid noted that while there are a lot of folks in the photomanipulation community who enjoy taking photographs, there is also a great desire for people to learn a bit more about how to make them look more professional.Photography Troubleshooting: Snap to Pro3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Firstly combining the elements of many of the articles that have already been written in this series (see the bottom of this article for links) will assist anybody in gearing their photographs up to look more professional. However IsacGoulart summed it up quite neatly with this rather epic quote...
“Beauty can be seen in all things, seeing and composing the beauty is what separates the snapshot from the photograph."
Getting your work up to some sort of standard is always tricky. Especially if you are setting the standar
SNIPPY: QUESTIONABLE REALITYI definitely thought about killing Captain, especially after several pranks that were pulled on me like that time when I woke up with a bucket super-glued to my head and declared "iron man".SNIPPY: QUESTIONABLE REALITY3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Or that time when Captain made a soup out of my gas mask filters because the broth needed the "Smooth flavour of Snippy" and salt wasn't available... so I had to roam the decaying shopping malls for a new pair.
Or that time when Captain pushed me into a watery abyss inside a wooden barrel to celebrate "Niagara falls day".
Have my thoughts become so compounded as to finally cause schizophrenia?
...Am I a stone throw away from becoming like Pilot, talking to pet rocks and building the Bastion of Captania out of rotting shoe boxes?
And if I were to kill Captain who would I have left?
I must have been talking out loud like those crazy hobos that lived outside the protectorate dome that communicated with radioactive rain clouds via conversations of interpretive dance, until they were consumed by a famil

“Be of good cheer. Do not think of today’s failures, but of the success that may come tomorrow. You have set yourselves a difficult task, but you will succeed if you persevere; and you will find a joy in overcoming obstacles. Remember, no effort that we make to attain something beautiful is ever lost.” ― Helen Keller
I’d like you to think back…to that first time (or the many times) when you (re)discovered what you’re meant to do with your life or to that moment when you thought you finally “figured it out.”
It felt amazing, didn’t it? Your mind was racing with thoughts and ideas. That huge rush of anticipation and purpose flooded your entire being because your life felt like it was finally heading
Communities rely on Pillars made of HeartCommunities of all kinds are held up by pillars made of heart. Typically embodied by people who let the weight of their community rest on their shoulders, willing to let life be life. Sometimes it hurts, and sometimes it's comfortable. Regardless, the result is a halo that surrounds all participants in a community. The healing light of being mothered, fathered or cared for.Communities rely on Pillars made of Heart1 year ago in Personal More Like This
These are very special people who take this role in your community. Maybe this person is you. In which case, please be you today, and every day. Because you are very important.
For the rest of us, we all know who the pillars are that hold up the communities that we care about. We all know the value of what they do, especially when we stop to think about it.
There is nothing in life that I have ever found a deeper admiration for than people who take on this role. Pillars of Community. When a human being digs their heels in, claims territory and begins to show Love towards a group of people, they begin to embody
Auctioning My Character With MANY Extras! So I'm selling this guy:Auctioning My Character With MANY Extras!2 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I won't draw it anymore, I guess I just ended up getting bored of it. And many other people seems to really like it so I thought I should just sell it to someone else. And I really need to raise some money for a new computer ;n; mine is really old and slow and could just break at any time.
With the character you will also have the right to use the stuff I commissioned from other peoples + gifts I received of this character!(I won't need it anymore anyway)
.:Gift Kawiko:. by MiruThunderCat
I can't really choose or decide a price...
So I will simply leave it to the best offer after a few days. if I get any decent offer.
Please, keep in mind that it's still a bit hard for me to be selling my character and I probably won't
Ostara - More Info than you can hop at. :)One of my personal pet peeves, are those detractors who claim that Ostara is made-up. Not only have I heard this by non-pagans, but I've also heard this through the years from Pagan elders in their respective communities. The truth is, that there is a large amount of collaborative evidence to suggest that not only was this a real festival in antiquity, but that the Goddess is real as well.Ostara - More Info than you can hop at. :)3 years ago in Personal More Like This
The Evidence for Ostara
For those of us in the Northern Tradition, the high holy tide of Ostara is upon us. Some are gearing up to celebrate this weekend, and others may postpone their celebrations so that they coincide more with the observed Christian date of Easter instead. The later allows heathen children to be able to participate in more mainstream activities such as egg hunts with their peers at school and at community parks.
Even in antiquity there wasn’t one set, collective date across the peoples who worshipped the Aesic gods such as Odin. Observance

Cyberbullying and Your DeviationsThe term "cyberbullying" was first coined and defined by Canadian educator and anti-bullying activist Bill Belsey, as "the use of information and communication technologies to support deliberate, repeated, and hostile behavior by an individual or group that is intended to harm others."Cyberbullying and Your Deviations3 years ago in Personal More Like This
While the actions which make up cyberbullying can vary depending on who you are talking with or what website you are on at the time, as far as we here at deviantART are concerned the act of cyberbullying involves a range of behavior from hostile and aggressive communications, to threats, sexual remarks, hate speech, ganging up on victims by making them the subject of ridicule or humiliation.
The practice of cyberbullying is also not limited to children, when perpetrated by adults toward adults these same behaviors are sometimes referred to as cyberstalking or cyberharassment but regardless of what name you attach to it, cyberbullying has grown into an increasing problem since the behavior was first ident

The Story Behind the PhotoEvery now and then or at least for now, twice a week, I will be posting up a Journal featuring an exceptional photo and the author's story of how he/she captured that particular moment. Many times, we come across amazing photos on deviantART and wonder what the story was behind that capture... who was involved, where it was taken, how it came to happen, and so forth. I thought it would be interesting to find out of a few of my own favorites, so I contacted a few photographers asking them for a quick summary of their stories. This week's feature is one of iNeedChemicalX's incredible shots. Check it out.The Story Behind the Photo3 years ago in Personal More Like This

Artists Toolbox: Airbrushing BasicsToday I'd like to take a moment to talk about airbrushing basics. I feel that it is an art form that is very under represented here on deviantART and perhaps with a little education on it, more people might become interested in airbrushing.Artists Toolbox: Airbrushing Basics2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Airbrushing can be used for various different things, from body art, to painting model cars and planes, to painting sculptures, to painting automotives, T-shirts, canvas, even cake decorating, etc etc, the possibilities with airbrushing are pretty limitless and as such can be a wonderful art form to get familiar with and perhaps even utilize yourself. Oh, and did I also mention that airbrushing is fun?
Try it, you'll like it!
Airbrushes come with a few different features which I've outlined below to help make an educated guess on what type would best suit you if this is something you're interested in trying.

Are perceptions slowing you down?Without the wonderful phenomenon of perception, we human beings would be highly confused creatures, unable to understand the world around us. On a more abstract and less biological level, perception plays a large role in how we form opinions. A lot of the world around us is based in absolutes, for example: apples are, and will forever will be, either red or green however, there are less rigid "rules" so to speak for other categories of "things", art being one of them. Art is a forever evolving animal, changing, growing, warping, and expanding. It crosses over boundaries and breaks through barricades, it whispers and shouts at the same time. Art is very powerful, infectious and potent. All of these things explain why we feel almost violated when we see art we do not like (which is a discussion for a later blog ) What we will be discussing here today are our perceptions of art. One of the many wonderful things about the arts (all of them, not only the visual arts) arAre perceptions slowing you down?2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
