An angel with her trumpet flies across the pages of this alteration. Made with sheet music, she has curled hair, fanned wings and sleeve and a ruffled skirt. The book altered is a Tabernacle Hymnal from the early 1900's.

I do have additional hymnals. If you are interested in a piece similar to this one, or have an idea for an alteration commission featuring a different figure, please note me.

Bird House Book Alter

Book is "A Savage Place" from the 1960's. I wanted to do something that was the complete opposite of the book's title with this one, so here we are. Each bird is hand drawn and colored then fixed onto the book's pages. From top right the birds are the House Wren, the Mockingbird, the Red-Breasted Nuthatch, the Cedar Waxwing, and the Baltimore Oriole.

Dream Ride Book Alteration

The book is "Almost Adam" but the picture is another from "Under the Lilacs". I really like this one. I like the depth in it and the contrast between the horse and rider and the text. The figure is colored with colored pencil. There's about 270 pages altered in this one.

The perfect gift for any book lover! Imagine handing your favorite book work this antique hardbound book, lovely in itself, to have them flip the cover to find a bouquet of roses. The first 250 pages of this book have been carved away and with them six roses, tied with a bow, have been sculpted. The book is from the Grolier Classics collection. Published in 1956, this volume holds Jane Eyre (Bronte), Maxims and Reflections (La Rochefoucauld), Essays of Elia (Lamb), and The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam.

Should I or shouldn't I? This princess is debating her pucker as she evaluates her amphibian companion. Looking regal in her hat, shawl, and gown the princess sits atop a collection of Grimm's Fairy Tales, published in the 50's.

White Fang and his fellow wolves pop out from Jack London's masterpieces. The Call of the Wild was first published in 1903, and White Fang in 1906. This hardbound book with both stories is from the 60's. On the left, mountains rise up from the snow covered landscape. On the right, the wolf pack stand together on a snow covered peak. Both scenes are cut into layers giving the illustrations a 3D effect.
