(I am still only 21, my hair is short, my teeth are straight, and my acne, CP, shunt, tube, and scars are all still long-gone!! Marc is still very powerful, but he now exists only in my nightmares, and no longer as a physical person, because that aspect of him God had helped me to block, although he does have the power to make the nightmares real, using the same power that Maury Parkman could, which was to manipulate a person's perceptions of reality, to create the nightmares, based on their deepest fears. I still have Matt Parkman's telepathy, however. My friends and family have all been free for about ten years now)
This story was inspired by Azakir Devaris' story 'But then there was Hope', and also encompasses elements from the TV series 'Heroes', such as Peter Petrelli's electric manipulation & telekinesis, Matt's telepathy, and his father Maury's reality manipulation, and also Gambit's power from 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'.

One warm summer afternoon, while all alone at home, I was quietly sitting on the front step. I wore my old, weathered black steel-toed boots, my old gray camo pants, and a plain black t-shirt. I wore my black leather belt with Cinthorc, the Sword of Justice, at my right side, in it's scabbard. I went inside, up to my room, and grabbed my sharpening stone, then headed back outside to sharpen my sword. After about four minutes, I stored the stone in my belt pouch, sheathed my sword in it's scabbard, and headed down to the school. My friends and Mike hung out by the doors.
We all exchanged greetings, then I looked up to see Katherine walking toward me. I smiled, as we

I woke up, slowly. The first thing I noticed was that I couldn’t move at all, except to blink. I was paralyzed!
'MAN, my head hurts!' I thought. It felt like someone was trying to pound a hole in either side of my skull from the inside, with a sledgehammer. Gradually, my seized muscles relaxed, as I very slowly sat up. I was shocked to find myself in a prison cell, carved into solid rock; thick iron bars on either end, about twenty feet apart!! The bars, only wide enough to slip a hand through, looked too thick for me to try and bend.
There was the cot I now sat on, a steel sink-toilet, and a small steel chair and table.

I looked at the hole in the quarry cliff again, then cast another quick glance around to make sure I was alone. By now, the sun had just finished setting, leaving the sky a pale orange-pink colour. Suddenly I heard a strange, low humming noise. Moving closer to the hole, I crouched, and stayed still, listening intently.
Then, without warning, the sound rapidly spiked, startling me as a loud, deep whirring hum burst from within. Curious now, I shuffled my feet to get right up to the edge, and looked in, surprised to find that I could see the dim outline of the tunnel, due to an unknown light source from somewhere within.
Taking a few deep breaths, I readied myself. 'Here goes nothing!'
Jumping, I thrust my arms overhead as I slid into the hole, feeli

I lay curled up on the soft green grass beneath a large apple tree in Avalon, snoozing deeply and dreaming of my family. My brother was soaring lazily in the clear blue sky, while a few other dragons, some he and I had earlier befriended, played in the wide open hills and fields. Soon he flew down, landing close by to where I dozed. Smiling, he walked quietly up, and laid a hand on my side, as I opened my eyes a little, and yawned deeply, before turning to look at him, smiling. 'Want to go for a flight, Drake?' he asked, as I smiled.
'Sure, Merrick!' I then rose to all fours, and spread my wings in one graceful motion, before pushing off lightly from the hillside, letting the wind catch and lift my huge dragon wings, sending me soaring ever so gracefully into the blue sky!
I stretched and yawned; my wings instinctively flapping

One warm summer evening, at sunset, while all alone at home, I was riding my 'X-80' freebord at the Paradise Valley skate park, just outside Stony. I wore my black socks and runners, my navy blue capris and my blue muscle-shirt. An hour later, I decided to visit Drethan before heading home, so I rode straight to the shop. Surprisingly, he was expecting me, and greeted me warmly as I came in. He then said that he had been working on a special gift for me, and that it was now ready. He then handed me a large cardboard box, as I thanked him, and rode home. I stored my board in the back porch, and took the gift upstairs to my room before having a shower. Ten minutes later I came into my room wearing just my black boxers.

This is a question that pops up every once in a while, and I'm sure that a lot of you out there are familiar with it. Whilst a few people will deny their existance, there are quite a few who will defend that the beasts did at one point in time exsist, and that they were either wiped out by the humans, or went into hiding to conserve their numbers. Some people will even go to the ends of the earth to try to find exsistance that dragons were real, only to come home empty handed.
However for one person who was trying to prove their exsistance, they would stumble upon something that would change their life forever.
It was a dark, January night. It was snowing on and off in what some people had dubbed the worst snowstorm in some 30-40 years. And one young adult was sitting at his computer, checking his messages and emails from friends.
Peter sat on his bed with his laptop in front of him, chatting to several of his friends as he worked on a story at the sam

Chapter 1 - A Friend's Advent
One warm summer evening, at sunset, while all alone at home, I was quietly sitting on the front step. I wore my black jeans and runners, and my plain dark blue t-shirt. I looked up at the blue sky, and choked back a sob. I knew that I was alone, and my family was gone!! I had still been living in this house for 9 years, and about a week ago, I had come home from a camping trip in Golden, B.C., to find the house empty of dad, Barb, and Brandon!! I couldn't find any specific reason why they had left, and found the bags still packed away, nothing missing from the house, and no signs of any violence, which were all both disturbing and more than a little bit frightening. I sat quietly, just thinking about my family.
I had mixed feelings of anger and fear

That day there was a lot of people in the shop, since Halloween was very close, everyone wanted to buy a great costume to impress their friends. A normal shopkeeper should be happy about this kind of situation right? But no, Drethan wasn't happy, because there were almost 30 people in the shop, but no one had a desire strong enough to make his special costumes work. He was making a lot of money, but he didn't care about money, he wanted knowledge, knowledge that these people couldn't offer. Just when he thought that the whole day was a waste of his precious time, someone walked in the shop...a very unexpected person.
I walked in the shop, and immediately all the people in there turned and looked at my arm. I didn't care anymore if people looked at me in that way. You know, my arm is made of wood....yes, I lost my arm after a little accident with a chainsaw, and the doctors putted this fake arm on me, just to make me look normal...how ironic.
Drethan looked at t

Chapter I - Gabriel's Request
I lay in my bed, wide awake. Countless nights of being cast into the Nightmare's dark, cold netherworld, were slowly starting to take a toll on me.
I didn't know just how much longer my sanity could resist against Marc's diabolical torture. I tossed and turned, trying to get some peaceful rest.
But each time I drifted off, the inevitable darkness would yield the unmistakeable glow of the Nightmare's blood-red sky.
I knew that,

I sighed as I looked around.
I couldn't believe that not only had I been able to find a home of my own,(granted this was the country not the residential city I was used to) but also was able to keep one of the computers to use as my own, plus my parents said they'd leave me alone.
I'd recently been chatting up with a friend I met online telling him about the move, my friend had been the one who suggested the place i'd moved to. Though I wasn't all that impressed, the city I had moved to was kinda small, I didn't really pay attention to the name of the city though I did manage to find an apartment with a low rent cost, and there was a grocery store nearby, still, I couldn't help but think that I was missing something.
I looked at the calender and sighed, Halloween was just around the corner, and I still didn't have a costume, not that I thought I needed one, it was just that most people wore costumes
A New Reason To LiveSkyle was a junior in high school. He was pretty much considered a nobody. He was constantly picked on by peers and abused by his parents. His father was an alcoholic and almost had no money to support Skyle. Skyle's mother died when he was little and five years later, his father remarried and had another kid. A boy who he named Zack. Zack was the only person who was ever truly nice to Skyle. The class bell rang for eighth hour. The last hour of the day. Skyle had math. He was never fond of math. He actually found it to be boring. He was working on triginometry which seemed to have taken forever.
Fourty minutes passed and Skyle thought to himself " When will this day END?!" Skyle overheard some classmates talking.
"Hey, you going to the Halloween dance?" One of the girls asked.
"Yeah! Of course I am! I'd never miss a chance to hook up with a hot guy!" The other girl exclaimed.

Being quiet after something I ordered over three months ago. The box appeared at my apartment door with a man asking for a signature. It barely fit thru my door. The box wasn't even that heavy but it was very bulky. I clumsily carried it thru my kitchen and into my bedroom. My apartment was quite large so I can move thru the living room / kitchen quite easily. I moved into my bedroom and laid the box down next to my bed. I moved my table in the center of my bedroom out of the way and cleared a space so I could lay out the costume.
"Lets see what we got here." I said leaning down to open the box up.
I looked in total shock, as I pulled out a large costume perfectly representing toothless from a recent movie. A perfect creation o
