The sixth installment in my Poisonous Beauties series - a series of works featuring portraits of faery creatures and various poisonous plants (and fungus)! #6 in this series features the Fly Agaric mushroom - also known by its Latin name, Amanita Muscaria - one of the most beautiful mushrooms! I always think of faeries when I see these bright red, spotted mushrooms - a very popular decorative element in households and fairytale illustrations everywhere. Who would expect that such a cheerful mushroom could be bad for you? Known for its hallucinogenic, toxic, and in some cultures - magical - properties. My own original acrylic painting.

Part of my "Poissons Volants" series ("Flying Fish)" - combining my love with sea creatures and Rococo era portraiture - "Les Poissons Rouges" (the goldfish - actually called "redfish" in French) is a stunning baroque portrait of a beautiful lady in a hazy forest landscape surrounded by brilliang magical winged goldfish. The bright colours of the goldfish really "pop" against the subtle pastels of the setting. The original painting debuted and sold at the Celebration Spring Art Festival, but Limited Ediion Canvases are now available at Pop Gallery Orlando at Downtown Disney at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Those of you who know me, know that I am obsessed with nautilus shells! I collect them as well as fossil ammonites. I have several "tiger nautilus" shells and wanted to do a portrait with one - accenting it with the Tiger Lily flower (since I like the sound of both having the word "tiger" in them). A beautiful, slightly sad looking girl. This piece debuted and sold at the Celebration Spring Art Festival in 2012. This is my own original acrylic painting.

Part of my "Poissons Volants" series ("Flying Fish)" - combining my love with sea creatures and Rococo era portraiture - "Le Portrait" (the portrait!) features a dewy eyed portrait against a forest landscape amidst many magical winged fish. The flying stingray is a nod to "Ralph the Flying Stingray" which is a comic series I created & used to draw when I was a little girl. I simply love this painting!

A pretty cheerful painting, with loads of colour! This big eyed little girl fairy is sitting on some balloons being released into the sky. So cute! My own original acrylic painting. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith - prints are available at [link] and [link]
