Lord of the Ponies: The Search for Harmony
Ch.1 - Reminiscence
Twilight Sparkle stopped on the Bridge of Khazad-dûm, standing in the middle of the span, and impeded the advance of the pursuer as the other members of the Fellowship fled. Twilight turned. From the fire she faced erupted an earth-quaking roar. The inferno flared, and from its fiery womb burst forth the Balrog: a bipedal beast coated in shadow with a mane of flame erupting from between its massive ram's horns. The monster stared down at Twilight, scanning the minuscule Unicorn. The Balrog roared again, the shadows about it reaching out like two vast wings. Twilight remained steadfast before the demon; she would not waver against this being of darkness and shadow.

Mending a Broken Rainbow- Chapter 5
The distinct smell of a warm spring morning filled the property of Sweet Apple Acres, carried by a soft breeze through the many apple trees. The bright blue sky above, once a luring land of adventure to Ponyville's own Rainbow Dash, now carried no interest to the cyan Pegasus know as Dashie as she continued her mornings work, filling barrel after barrel with sweet delicious apples. Instead of daring tricks, and her competitive spirit, Dashie's mind was occupied only with thoughts of her new life with Applejack. Her life without Rainbolt; without needless complications. Without the Wonderbolts.
It was perfect.
Applejack didn't need to know about Rainbolt, right? That would just cause problems. No, Dashie was sure that she would keep her counter part a secret for as long as possible. Still... the Pegasus couldn't help but find her thoughts steering towards the previous night, just after Applejack fell asleep. A loud explosion filled the air, shocking D

There are a great number of questions that everypony goes through life that they wish could be answered early on. Will they live a long, healthy life? Will they become rich beyond their wildest dreams? Of course, some questions are alot more trivial, such as whether or not the Cloudsdale Angels will win the seasonal championships this year. But there is one question that everybody, from alicorns to zebras, from rabbits to dragons, has wanted to know:
Does the one that I love, love me in return?
The story I am about to relate to you deals with that very same question.
Deep inside the Ponyville Library, there lives a certain creature of which few ponies have ever dealt with, and of which fewer have lived to tell of the experience... It is neither pony nor griffin, nor zebra nor dog. No, it is something much more fearsome, much stranger, and by far more deadly! I am talking to you, of course, about a dragon! A gian

Spy's brain worked as fast as it could, given the war zone around him. The snow on the ground was slowly disappearing as volley after volley rocked their makeshift shelter.
His horn shimmered, and he disappeared from view. He stepped gingerly around the snow, not wanting to leave any trace of himself. As the specter crossed the battlefield undetected, his mind traveled to what led him here.
"Miss Sparkle, I must thank you for this opportunity." The dark blue unicorn adjusted the saddlebag on his back. A light blue glow that was not his own enveloped his tie, adjusting it tightly. "Miss Rarity, you're choking me" The magic dispelled, and Spy readjusted the tie himself. Rarity grinned sheepishly. The fasionista admired her own hard work, a tuxedo in the spitting image of the suit she wore only two months ago, now made for Spy's new job.
"Celestia's ambassador," Twilight read the letter again. She had asked Celestia if there was any place in her cas

The ballroom lay in ruins. Chunks of marble littered the tiled floor, scattered around in broken heaps that nearly meshed together to create a solid blanket of rubble. The local band's instruments, dented and fractured far beyond recognition, lay in assymetrical positions around the room. Many of the animals from the garden still skittered about through various rooms, their loosely-aimed sprints unceasing until they'd explored every last nook and cranny within the castle walls, leaving muddy pawprints everywhere. Many of the royal guards and servants were tending to the enormous mess, for the most part ignoring the animals, but the occasional shout and hoof chase was not uncommon. After the pillars collapsed, most of the remaining partygoers had moved outside into the still-intact garden, small groups of ponies still gossiping and chatting about the six mares who were responsible for this disaster.
Holding glasses of punch in their hooves and still contemplating shock,

Spike was out of the house for once, away on an adventure with Apple Bloom, and Twilight Sparkle was making good use of the time to get as much study done as possible. She sat on her bed reading a book called "The Ursa Major in its Natural Habitat" it was a fascinating book, and she was so deeply engrossed in it that for a long time she didn't realise there was somepony knocking on the front door of the house.
"Is that Spike back already? Why doesn't he just come in the door's unlocked for goodness sake! Oh Spike..." But when she got up and went to the door, she saw that it wasn't Spike it was one of the Pegasus ponies who took travellers between Ponyville and Canterlot. Few ponies made the journey regularly, so she was surprised to see him arrive at her house unannounced.
"Uh, yes? Can I help you?" she asked, and the Pegasus pony bowed and replied:

As you all know, Fall Weather Friends should come before Winter Wrap-Up.
There are many concerns about episode chronology when considering season one as a whole. There are a bunch of monsters at the start of the season, while the CMC take over during the second half. The first half is pretty AJ/RD/PP heavy, while the last half is overloaded with Rarity and Fluttershy. The Gala episode has an Everyone Laughs ending, but to me it feels tacked on and anti-climactic, and doesn't work as a season finale as well as Cutie Mark Crusaders would. (S2 update: we now know the Discord episodes were produced as the season/series finale.)
If we take the air order as the chronological order:
episodes 1-10 summer/fall, year 1000 of the Summer Sun Celebration
11 Winter Wrap-Up 1001
12 Call Of The Cutie 1001
13 Fall Weather Friends 1001
14-26: spring/summer 1002
This means the mane 6 got their tickets right after saving Equestria from Nightmare Moon, then 1 3/4

She panted, heart pounding as she stood in the center of town. She could hear the blood coursing through the veins in her ears, sounding like the roar of a distant ocean. Her mind was numb, barely registering where she was or that she was covered with a sticky red substance, the pungent scent of copper filling the air. Her eyes slowly fell to an object on the ground: a stained knife that glinted in the midday sun. Next to it was a growing red pool. Her eyes trained on the pool and slowly moved to its source.
The deed had been done.
Luna's Moon hung high above Equestria, its gentle rays bathing the countryside in an eerie glow as it slowly trekked across the cobalt-hued sky. Near Ponyville, the light illuminated a lone figure winging somewhat less gracefully than normal above the town. It was very late and she was exhausted, but Rainbow Dash didn't ca

CAERDWYN'S APPLE-SAUSAGE STUFFING
Good enough to be a main dish all by itself. This recipe is scaled to feed a Thanksgiving or Christmas throng of 8 to 12; feel free to divide everything by 2 (if you do so, cook for 5 minutes less). Prep time: 30 minutes preparation, then 30 minutes of cooking. You can do the prep in advance, and slip the stuffing pan into the oven 30 minutes before meal time.
2 pounds savory sausage (I use Jimmy Dean's Sage Sausage; bulk Italian sausage based on whatever meat your preferences dictate works well too)
4 medium (fist-sized) Fuji or Gala apples - use more apples if they're smaller
6 stalks celery (minus the leaves; about 2 cups once chopped)
1 large sweet onion
12 ounces chopped dried dates
12 ounces dried cranberries
3 6-ounce packages of Caesar-style croutons
2 tablespoons of a steak-style spice mix (I prefer Weber's "Chicago Steak"; anything similar to Emeril's Essence will

Pinkie walked through Sugar Cube Corner. It was early yet, the shop hadn't opened. She watched the light from the rising sun play across the colourful candies and sweets, making them sparkle like diamonds. She straightened a display of lollipops until it looked perfect and she smiled at the beauty of it.
She walked out the shop door and locked it behind her, even though she knew it would never open again. They only had a few minutes left.
Putting on her best smile she bounced over down the street and towards a table where her friends were gathered round.
"There you are Pinkie," Twilight called to her happily. She didn't know, none of them did. Twilight spoke briefly about the the great adventure they had the night before. Pinkie found it hard to listen to the recap, but savored hearing her friend's voice.
"I just want you all to know, that you're my very best friends and I'm just so happy to be with you," Twilight finished and gathered them all into a group hug. It was a bit out of cha

The recent attack brought about by the unexpected and hitherto unknown changelings and their Queen, Chrysalis, had left much of the city damaged. By some miracle there had been no casualties, only a few injuries here and there. Of course it made sense. The changelings were, after all, using the ponies as a food source. It made no sense that they'd want them harmed.
Ponies all about the capital were grateful that the attack had left only structural damage. Damage which was easily rectified. But for one lone unicorns, the damage was far deeper.
Walking along the red carpet of the main hall of the Canterlot royal palace, Captain Shining Armour was looking uncharacteristically fo

"C'mon Twilight! Everypony's waiting for you at Sugar Cube Corner!" Spike had had to half-drag Twilight from the library, where she had spent the evening reading and drinking mostly drinking. He'd found her curled up on the couch nursing a bottle of vanilla-lemon vodka, the floor a pile of crumpled books and empty bottles, and she'd resisted every effort of his to get her to come with him. He'd tried to pull her by her tail at first, and when that hadn't worked he'd pushed on her rump as she dug her hooves in stubbornly, but now she had finally given up and was walking alongside him, swaying as she went.
"At what where? Sugar Cube Corner?" she slurred. After half a bottle of vodka, Twilight was three sheets to the wind, and she found it difficult to put one hoof in front of the other. In fact, they threatened to tangle up underneath her at any moment, and she was glad o
Captain Hook the Biker Gorilla The dreaded Captain Hook sailed the seven seas with his pirate crew, collecting any treasure he came across. His ship, the Banana Apes, terrified any that had the misfortune to catch sight of Hook's ship. Few outside his crew lived to give a description of the black-furred gorillas, as they never liked to keep prisoners. His crew only took one injury between its twenty members: the captain had lost his left hand in a duel against another pirate, Captain Greybeard; the only defeat he ever had. He had since replaced the missing hand with a hook, giving him the name Hook. Over time, Hook's treasure hoard became so large that he had to bury it on an uninhabited island. He made sure that nobody outside his crew could reach by burying half of it and placing the rest in huts that his crew built on top of the trees. Eventually, the Banana Apes became so well known that its crew had to create a port on thCaptain Hook the Biker Gorilla3 years ago in Humor More Like This

The Tumbling Downs was on the very edge of town, an off-the-path place where usually a stallion could be found with too many sheets to the wind and a few too many gold coins wasted on mead. On most nights the Prancing Pony or the Fancy Girdle would be Rarity's first choice, but tonight of all nights, with the village suddenly pizzled in a late-March rain
That she wouldn't be caught dead looking mangled and upset like this in front of her "social friends", well it was convenient.
Ambling in, the haggard stark white and dark lavender pony took in the sight of a clean, well-lit tavern. True to Ponyville form it featured (heavily) dark hardwood floors, smiley-face wooden drink coasters, the fashionable dry-eraser Specials Of The Day list. The place smelled of cedar and low tobacco notes. It wasn't posh and not the most popular in town, but the entire bar was eerily empty.
This was fortunate.

Knock knock knock.
The quiet knocking on the window broke the near-silence in the cottage. Fluttershy blinked her eyes open, sitting up and stretching before looking to her window to identify the source of the noise. She wasn't all that surprised to see her best friend Rainbow Dash hovering just outside, the light of the moon lighting up her multicolored mane. Her expression was also what she expected; she looked troubled, tired, even a little embarrassed. Fluttershy held back a smile and quickly made her way over to the window to unlock it and swing it wide open.
"Hey," Rainbow greeted her, brushing her mane out of her eyes briefly.

I'm sure you all know,
About a lovely little woman
And her Mr. Scarecrow.
It all began
In a small town like any other.
Where our main characters lived:
A little girl, her father, and her mother.
The family lived
In a small farmhouse,
In a tiny little town
[Yes, fit for a mouse].
The children who lived there
Were very close-knit,
But when Tabby wanted to join
Her father threw a fit.
He would sit her down
And tell her ever so nicely,
"You don't need friends,
All you need is family."
Then, little Tabitha
Would walk to her shelf
And play with her toys...
All by herself.
Her mother was the only one
Who noticed Tabby's loneliness.
She was the only one
Who understood her stress.
She tried her best
To distract Tabby's mind.
They played games
Like pretend and search and find.
Sometimes Tabby's mother
Would teach her new things:
Like sewing, and farming, and working with hay,
[The basics for living a pretty nice life]
So that maybe, just maybe, on one fateful day,

One Last Letter "Hurry Spike! We don't have much time!" I screamed across the room. My little assistant was shoving things up against our front door while I attempted to cover the windows. "Twilight!" came a voice, and I looked over to see Rainbow Dash pounding at the window. I opened it quickly with my magic and slammed it shut after she made it in. My mind was so overloaded that it took me a few minutes to see the blood dripping from her side.
"Oh no," I said in shock. Dash gave me a grin.
"What this? It's just a scratch, really."
I tried to lift up her wing to examine her wound, but she held it firmly down, whether to cover it or because the pain was too much I couldn't tell.
"Dash please, let me have a look at it,"

The sun slowly rises on yet another glorious day in Equestria, just barely cresting over the distant horizon. The Princess of Equestria and controller of the sun, Celestia, has promised that today would be as bright as ever. The Pegasi ponies who manage the weather overhead promised it to be a clear sky as well. While most of Equestria is still in slumber, one particular place rises with the sun. More specifically, its residents. Along the outskirts of the small town of Ponyville resides a large farm that covers acres upon acres of land. The farm grows several different foods on its land, but one particular fruit is held in higher regard than the rest: Apples. Spread across over half of the farm land, a metaphorical sea of apple trees flows with the shape of the land, ascending and descending hills and valleys alike.
In the center of this massive farm sits a vibrant yellow two story house, similar to a Victorian-era design on Earth. Roughly one hundred feet behind the
