This is my life size Vinyl Scratch plush. She was made with a pattern from ValleyViolet with some modifications. She is made entirely out of minky fabric. Her cutie mark is made with felt and embroidery thread to give a raised look. Her eyes are made with felt so they will not fade or peel. Her sunglasses are made with felt and silk iridescent dupioni (it changes color in the light). I will be selling her in the near future to raise money so I can go get my Ph.D at UND. So, please spread the word about Vinyl.
[Update]To answer everypony's question: She is 46 inches tall and about 44 inches long.
Video is here: [link] [Update] She is now up for auction!! You can bid on her here. [link]
I present to you a very special member of our Las Pegasus Unicon exibit. Princess Celestia She will be making her first ever public appearance tomorrow at the con. I'm so excited! I've been anticipating this event and her appearance for months now. *squee* ^v^
She has embroidered hooves, necklace, eyes, and cutiemark. She stands a majestic 30 inches tall. Made with high quality minky fabric.
I'm particularly pleased with this one, since I took a bit of a gamble on the collar but I think it turned out awesome (not to toot my own horn or anything)!!! I've been working on it on and off for a bit so I decided to just finish it today as a break between commission work. Two issues, however: I poured layers of clear nail polish into the goggle frames to give it the look of glass but some layers were too thick and they got a bit bubbly. Also, the mane and tail aren't as smooth as I'd like because I had to mix in tube acrylics (apparently I don't have red craft paint? WTF.).
Media: Polymer clay (Sculpey Primo) on Applejack base. Painted with Americana craft acrylics and some random red tube acrylic paint I found. Goggles are filled with clear nail polish. Collar is a piece of off-white super bulky scrap yarn. Sealed with matte Mod-Podge.
I'd like to extend my thanks and give credit to the following artists and their work for inspiring this piece: ([link]) ([link]) When I saw those 2 drawings I knew I had to make a Spitfire custom in a bomber jacket. Coolness like that doesn't just come around every day.
So this submission does two things. First, it makes it clear to my followers (if it weren't known before) that, yes, thanks to 's influence, I've been a Brony for a little less than a year now. Secondly, it's my first post to dA showing off my newfound bookbinding skills! I've learned how to bind books in the past few months and it's been an AWESOME craft to mess around with. Incredibly tedious but super-rewarding because I'm making BOOKS and I LOVE BOOKS. AUGH. OH GOD I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. AFIDDVJKNFSGVOI:Naeklnd, etc.
Anyway, what we have here is a replica of "Daring-Do and the Quest for the Sapphire Stone," the book featured in the episode "Read it and Weep" (Season 2, Episode 16), that I bound by hand because I damn well could. And it was fun. The image I used for the cover was a lovely recreation of the in-show cover by , who graciously allowed me to utilize it for this project.
I will definitely be sharing more of my bookbinding projects in the near future as well!
Behold the greatest and most powerful plush, Megatrix! Or the Giant and Huggable Trixie, if you will.
As stated above, she's 44 inches tall (1.12 meters), and is scaled to be life-sized according to lots of maths and some time in MS Paint. She weighs something like 15 lbs or so, and is my greatest achievement in plushsmithing since my 1:2 scale Luna that I used metal for her regalia, and possible will be my greatest achievement in plush overall.
Here's her next to me for a person-to-pony scaling. [link]
I've been working on her for months, and it's quite a feeling seeing her done. She's my second fav, and I'm glad I was able to finish her within a few days of the best episode of FiM since Luna Eclipsed. Her cape and hat are in the works, so stay tuned for that.
~wilshirewolf bought her up about as soon as he found out I was making her, and he's pleased as punch to see her final look.
If you've got any questions, ask away. Note that I'm not currently taking any commissions, but if you want something really wild (like a life-size) contact me and I'll think about adding you to my limited summer list. Be warned, the bigger they are, the harder they hit your wallet.
