Sage 2Sage walked a little further into the room when her adoptive dad and Mr. Stark disappeared into another room, and she stood silently in the center, glancing around. This was one of the tallest buildings she'd been in, and she was studying the interior quickly and efficiently in that one glance. It was stylish, slick, and modern; designed to be both attractive and productive.
"It's a nice place huh?" Bruce asked, smiling as he watched the teen; he saw the way she was looking around, face blank, and figured that she was sort of awed.
Two pairs of green eyes met and the girl nodded, knowing that a smile would be expected and giving a mild one. "It is; the modern style is quite aesthetic but obviously meant to also be efficient. A good combination; yes?" she widened the grin instinctually; maybe she had gotten too good at faking her emotion, sometimes she wished that she didn't have to, but even her father became edgy around her when she didn't.
Banner nodded in agreement, only slightly pu

Rangers 1With a whistle I sent Rajah off and stood in the Rangers shooting range; breathing deeply to calm myself. He was gone; I saw him leave. He was probably on the other side of Redmont fief by now.Rangers 13 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
The recurve bow was an accustomed weight in my left hand, along with the quiver full of arrows on my back. I took another deep breath and shot at the three targets, which were really only trees; never shooting at the same one twice in succession, like dad had taught me.
The twelve arrows were buried deeply into the centers of the three targets within he space of a minute; I was getting faster. A smile split my face as I went to retrieve them; my aim was slightly high and to the left, but that was why I came here, to improve.
I had pulled eleven of them out, struggling on the last one because it was stuck, when the sound of hoofbeats reached my ears. The Ranger! I pulled vainly at the last one for a second before deciding to risk leaving it and running into the nearby forest as quickly and quietl

But how long can she stay living within her own fantasies; straying not too far from the reality that she is alone? Few friends bringing about the illusion of companionship, part of the time.
And oh how she sits in longing, imagining worlds full of the affection she lacks; the hole in her heart bleeding into her chest, hidden from the world.
And she sat on the bed, governing universes and writing herself full again; full and decomposing, eaten away. The pad in her lap holding her desires like the throne where she sat; for display.
And in her kingdom she sat in longing, wondering at her courage if she should ever leave.

"Yes. So?" she had woken up the second I touched her, but she was just too pretty to just leave-be because she was awake. Her lean frame curled into a ball away from me; her bright blond hair falling sleep-thrown and knotted down past slender shoulders.
"Leave me alone. I'm awake now." I grinned wider and crawled closer to her. She shied away. I made her bright blue eyes meet my dark brown ones. "Please don't hurt me " she whimpered.
"I wouldn't hurt you, not ever." I promised, she bit her lip and still looked scared. I touched her arm lightly and she froze. "Settle down a bit, relax." I made a bottle of wine appear as well as a glass. She stared at it as I poured the liquid and offered her some.
"How do I know it's not poison?" she asked. I chuckled and took a sip.

Like it was the most normal thing in the world.
Piles of white copy paper bound together; bold black print.
Like it was normal.
But how could it be normal?
Dark brown eyes and hair; a face thousands of people would recognize instantly: how could he act so normal?
Sitting on the bus, near the door, reading: like it was the most average day, like it was the most normal thing: like he was normal, like he was average.
And no one bothered him.
No one stared.
No one gaped.
This was normal.
Mostly, I’d like to think that I was normal, too.
Except that I, alone, was staring at him, astonished by his very presence: catching flies in my mouth. I was glad that he didn’t notice me; that he was too engrossed in his script to bother looking up and across the aisle. He definitely would have seen me then.
But he didn’t.
He was just reading, lips moving subtly behind the page as he rehearsed to himself. He didn

Broadchurch: Alec HardyIt was clear in the way he sat; in the way he sipped at his tea; the way he studied the world; it was clear written on his face: he was a man carrying the weight of the world. He was painted with shades of dark: a stroke of anger, two of regret; sadness, pain and fury. Halt and Horace both whipped around. Horace snapped to attention more hurriedly than he intended. Halt yanked a cloth out of his medical satchel more violently than necessary. They both turned to see Evanlyn, shoulders shaking and sobbing in a loud racking wail. Horace looked at her confusedly, she was obviously still sad, but thus wailing seemed to overdue it.
Halt caught on almost instantly. He glanced from Evanlyn to Will. Raising a hand to stop her wailing, he looked her in the eye. I need to know what happened. He saw her green eyes widen and her face grow pale, but still he pressed her with his gaze. She shivered and her voice trembled as she began to reveal what had happened to her and Halts Apprentice.

Horace had jumped off of Kicker, and was pacing back and forth. Evanlyn sat on the ground, her beautiful face, Horace thought, stained with dirt. She was shivering out of nerves or cold, he could not tell.
Clip-clop, clip-clop, clip-clop. Horace heard it first, the soft clip-clopping of horses hooves. Thats no battle horse, he said as he stood up, trying to see into the trees. The clip-clopping stopped.
Horace, come here
What, Horace replied, slightly taken aback. He heard Halts irritated sigh. Well, at least Will is alive, thought Horace noticing that Halt would be more subdued and sad if Will was dead. Which he obviously wasnt because Halt was in one of his grim and irascible moods. In truth, Halt was more worried and sad then he let in. But as he suspected if he acted grim, Horace would not be as worried. At least until he realized the full nature of Wills condition, he thought dryly.
Horace stepped into the trees and
