First off, yes I am a huge Pink Floyd fan... so I yes, the title sort of describes my take on the Pink Floyd song, although I'm not really trying to interpret it. This one to me signifies the thought of someone facing death or an unknown situation, with uncertainty and hidden regretfullness. Many people go through thier whole life without giving a significant amount of thought to thier own death. It shouldn't be seen as morbid at all to be able to think about the moment you are consciously aware that you are actually dying. I myself enjoy life immensily, but also look forward to death, and the answers and hieghtened lucidity of what life really was. (I'm not trying to preach here, so please don't take it as that). So what this represents to me is someone who hasn't actually put enough thought into the deeper things in life and is suddenly awakened to life and the reality of existense. Hence the sort of giving up/worried/shocked/sad pose that the girl is making here.
I used this also to practice with selective coloring of images, which I have done before but still need practice on... I think the result was good in this one. The girl was taken from a stock photo that was black and white, and I colored it the way it is seen. This was a pretty simple manip in a lot of ways, the two stock photos used are excellent, and as I have done once before I simply put these two stock's together because I thought they fit together very well. Lots of credit is due to the stock photo artists here, they both make amazing stuff. I wasn't going to post this, seeing that I kind of used it as a practice piece, but I thought it came out looking good, and I thought the concept written above was an important one. Anyway, be honest and thanks for looking
Edit... just added in the two birds, I thought it made it look a little better
