This is a theme based on Elune

Special thanks to :iconminhtrimatrix: for the permission to make the theme for KDE4.

Icons [link]

Wallpaper [link]

Instructions:

Extract the theme to ~/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme/

Select the theme in System Settings>Workspace Appearance>Desktop Theme>Theme

If the theme doesn't show right for some reason, delete the cache file ~/.kde/cache (machinename)/plasma_theme_Elune.kcache

Notes

If you are using a 2D desktop(not OpenGL accelerated with desktop effects on) you will find a folder named "light-panel". Copy the "icons" folder inside and overwrite the one in the theme directory and copy the "arrows.svgz" into the "widgets" folder, overwriting the file in there. These are dark assets for the opaque panel in 2D mode. Delete the cache file as said above if you have any problems and things don't change.

Elune style menu icons are in the "extra" folder(right click>Application Launcher Settings to change the menu icon).

This is a theme based on SLAVE

Icons and original design by :iconguillendesign:

G4 Background by Alexander-GG

Instructions:

Extract the theme to ~/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme/

Select the theme in System Settings>Workspace Appearance>Desktop Theme>Theme

Load the "SLAVE" colour scheme file into System Setting>Application Appearance>Colours>Import Scheme

If the theme doesn't show right for some reason, delete the cache file ~/.kde/cache (machinename)/plasma_theme_SLAVE.kcache

Licence: GPL

Notes

Text colour has to be white on some widgets because it cannot be changed from widget to widget. Text shadows are hard-coded so a compromise had to be made with the text colour and the theme being light/dark. Plasma theme limitations I'm afraid.

Toolbar Customisation

It's simple in KDE4, just right click the toolbar, select "Configure Toolbars". In the right side window you will be able to select your toolbar items, click "Change Icon" which will allow you to select any icon for the toolbar item.

Update - 1.1 - 15th July 2012

- Fixed movement in the viewitem for widgets like folder view.
- Smaller scrollbar arrows.
- A few changes to the colour scheme.

Update - 1.1.1 - 16th July 2012

- Reversed top panel gradient.
- Top panel now renders properly, with shadow.

A KDE4 Plasma theme based on Gaia, which rises awareness of climate change.

Gaia goodies, icons, wallpapers [link]

Inspiration and resources :iconimrik:

Instructions:

Extract the theme to ~/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme/

Select the theme in System Settings>Workspace Appearance>Desktop Theme>Theme

Load the "Gaia" colour scheme file into System Setting>Application Appearance>Colours>Import Scheme

If the theme doesn't show right for some reason, delete the cache file ~/.kde/cache (machinename)/plasma_theme_Gaia.kcache

Licence: GPL

Notes

Due to Plasma theme limitations, I have had to use a white panel design. KDE now use same elements for some widgets, which makes the black panel tasks look odd else where.

Update - 1.1 - 3rd July 2012

- Added KDE4 Gaia colour scheme file.
- Themed input boxes.
- Lighter text in various places.
- New frame for widget headers.

A nice smooth plasma theme, inspired by a widget mockup [link]

Icons [link]

Wallpapers [link] [link]

Instructions:

Extract the theme to ~/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme/

Select the theme in System Settings>Workspace Appearance>Desktop Theme>Theme

If the theme doesn't show right for some reason, delete the cache file ~/.kde/cache (machinename)/plasma_theme_smoother.kcache

Important Notes

The theme will not look like the preview in some ways with older KDE versions due to new design options in KDE 4.10, specifically scrollbar thickness(control of this has been added for designers), add widgets panel(tasks don't theme this now, it's done in a different file, which is a good thing). It's nothing major but be aware that some things will look slightly different but nothing should be broken.

Licence: GPL

Compatibility

KDE 4.10 recommended (If you use Kubuntu/Ubuntu 12.10, KDE 4.10 is in backports PPA repo, which I currently use)

Font Details

Aller Sans, 8pt, Sub-pixel RGB, Hinting: slight.

Design Details

Inkscape for widget SVG work, The GIMP 2.8 for preview composition.

Update 1.1 - 16 Feb 2013

- Fixed 1px spacing issue with inputbox.
- Added various system tray icons for KDE4 apps.
- Added credits in the readme to Malcer for using some systemtray icons from the Caledonia plasma theme.
- Added new Steam icon.

Update 1.2 - 21 Feb 2013

- Added new system tray icons for various apps, dropbox, VLC, kalarm, dialog, kgpg, kaffeine.
- Added toolbar-icons in Smoother style.
