A Long Distance Call"Hello?" Tony spoke into his phone, not bothering to check who it was before answering.
"How long will you be gone?" Steve said from the other end of the line, skipping the greetings.
"Steve? Isn't it like... 3 in the morning over there?"
"Yes. I set the alarm so I could call you at an appropriate time."
"You- Oh my God, Steve." Tony was smiling brightly now. He felt like a dumb teenager with a crush, Steve made him feel that way and he loved it. Not that he would ever admit it.
"So? How long?"
"A couple of days, I think." Tony heard Steve groan. "I take it that you miss me?"
"You set your alarm to call me at 3am, it's no use denying it, Steve."
"I guess you're right." Steve admitted with a sigh. "I just got way too used to sleeping next to you."

"Like shit, thank you for asking." Tony groaned, opening his eyes. His head felt like Thor was hitting him with his hammer. He couldn't remember the stupid thing's name because he was too hungover to think about it.
Last night the whole team had gone out to celebrate Clint's birthday. Tony remembered some bits of the night, mostly the parts when he was still sober, which were the boring ones.
"Coffee. I need coffee."
He struggled to get out of his bed and wondered how he even got there in the first place, knowing he was definitely too drunk for that. He shrugged and thought it might have something to do with Pepper, she always did those things.
After his coffee, Tony took a long shower and that's when he started to remember last night's drunk adventures. To his surprise, Bruce was quite a funny drunk and had managed to not hulk out. On the oth

"What are you talking about?"
"Just look at Rogers and Stark. I can smell the sexual tension between them and they just don't see it. How hard can it be to see that someone is attracted to you?"
"Tell me about it." Clint replied ironically, scratching the back of his neck. "What do you think someone should do on a situation like that?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean... Hypothetically, say I'm attracted to you and you have no idea. What should I do?"
"Go for it, take the risk." Natasha replied without hesitating. "Maybe I feel the same for you, maybe I don't, but you don't know until you try."
"But things could get weird if you say no."
"If things get weird, then I'm a bitch and don't deserve the attention you give me."

Proposal"Daddy, why aren't you and Papa married?"Proposal3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
That was a good question, wasn't it? One answer that popped in Tony's mind was that he never though about getting married. But well, he never thought he'd be living with Captain America or that he would adopt a child. A few years ago if someone said that one day there would be a small 6 year-old boy in his garage watching him work, Tony would laugh so hard he'd probably fall into a coma.
"I don't know, Peter."
"Do you want to marry him?"
Tony stopped to think. Did he want to marry Steve? He already woke up next to him every morning, they took Peter to school together, had meals together, cleaned the house together, told bedtime stories to Peter together. A formal marriage wasn't necessary. But 'needing' and 'wanting' were different things, and Peter asked Tony if he wanted to marry Steve.
"You know, I think I do."
"Why don't you ask him?" Of course Peter would ask that, because Peter was a child and when you're a child things are that si

"Aww come on, Steve, it's not like we're about to have sex, just a little make out session won't hurt." Tony replied before kissing Steve's jaw. "Unless you want sex, we can totally-"
"Oh. My. God."
Both men turned their heads to the door when they heard Clint's voice. So maybe Steve was right, making out at SHIELD headquarters was really not a good idea. Barton turned around and left without a single word to look for Natasha.
"As I was saying-" Tony tried, but was cut off when Steve shook his head with an apologetic look plastered on his face, meaning that the mood was killed. Tony wanted to make a punching bag out of Barton.
"They we're like, making out. And I heard something about sex!" Clint said frantically. "Tasha, they were about to have sex at SHIELD. They are probably doing it right now!"
"Mhm." Natasha didn't lift her eyes from the book she was reading.

Three WordsThere was this thing bothering Tony. There were times when he was with Steve that he got this strange feeling, he had no idea what it was, but it felt like his his chest was tightening and his throat felt itchy.Three Words3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Sometimes it happened during and/or after sex. Other times it was at four in the morning when Steve came down to his workshop and -instead of dragging him to bed- handed him a fresh cup of coffee and asked Tony what he was doing.
It happened when they had silly fights about the remote. It also happened when they had more serious fights after one of them gets injured in battle. Sometimes they spent hours without talking to each other and it happened again, but the tightening on Tony's chest was more painful then.
Tony is a business man and he has to travel from time to time. While he's gone, he can't shake off that strange sensation and when he gets back and Steve is kissing him the moment he enters the house it's even stronger.
It happens more often lately. He lays his eyes on

Stark mansion was never this quiet. There was always noise. Whether it was the radio cranked up as loud as it could go, or the sounds of Tony trying, and failing again, to make something in the kitchen, or the very loud bangs and crashes coming from his garage as he worked out a few new kinks in the armour. There was always noise of some kind.
Tony could not stand silence.
Silence meant rejection and it unnerved Tony. He hated it and always tried to fill it up in whatever way he could. He'd babble on and on about whatever new technological development he'd made or the weather whatever first popped into his head and he'd launch into a very long spiel about it.
Steve knew that and he understood and he put up with it, enjoyed it even. He thought it was endearing even if it did somewh

Steve still feels lost in 2012. The amount of cars on the street is ridiculous. A woman bumps into him because she's looking at a device in her hand, Tony told him once those are called 'eye-pads' and Steve has no idea why. There's a teenager with earrings on his ears, his nose and his eyebrow who also has things dangling from his ears, and he's mimicking a guitar player.

Tony is the exact opposite of Steve, in fact, Tony takes advantage of people like Steve. So in that morning after some weird blue sticky substance exploded right in Steve's face when he opened the freezer, Tony promised that was the last prank of the day. It wasn't. Not that he had anything planned, but he would think of something.
Of course, Steve didn't know he was lying, because Steve always believed people and that was a serious problem. Tony was sitting on his couch, looking at some projects on his laptop, Steve was sitting next to him reading a book. The projects were giving Tony a headache, because they weren't designed by him and they were so boring, so he stood up and walked to the mini bar on the corner of the living room.

Steve smiled, turning his head to the side, Tony's big, curious eyes gazing at him with a mild interest, the man's fingers drumming on the railing of the balcony. He could see how Tony's mind was partly somewhere else, probably still remaining down in his workshop with his tools and many unfinished projects, but to have a part of Tony's attention was better than nothing at all.
He threw one last, longing look at the ground before he turned his whole attention to Tony, dragging a hand through his hair while he tried to find the right words to how he should put his thoughts out into words without sounding like a complete fool with hopeless dreams. Steve had never enjoyed flying, it was a necessary thing he only did when he absolutely needed to do it, no, his fascination lied with the thought of falling. No
