WOOO! finished! I was so happy to do this piece. Some of my favorite summer memories were making chalk drawings on the sidewalk. It's so much fun to turn that dreary cement into a work of art, and every one gets to enjoy it!
I worked on my entry during my vacation. My family and I visited this really small island beach on the coast of NC. There really is nothing there but adorable little houses in striking colors (an orange house with bright blue shutters!) spread cheerfully along a glowing white strip of beach. I was really inspired by all the beautiful colors that were there and really tried to incorporate that care free kaleidoscope feeling the island gave off. I think you can tell I had a blast doing this. I was so energized, just enjoying the sun and the scenery.
(When I saw this contest in my news feed I had to giggle. My boyfriend of two years drinks Dr. Pepper religiously, SO much that we all tease him about it (in a good natured way). For him Dr. Pepper will probably be a life long love affair. So what better way to say 'I love you' than devote some art to his Dr Pepper affinity. I really enjoy this piece and I hope my boyfriend will too!)
Hello dear deviant-friends!! First we want to congratulate you with the great birthday of our favorite site! Happy 11th Birthday DA!

Idea: She - a lonely street performer. Her life was extraordinary. She creates a fantasy out of nothing. She gives a smile. In a sad old town, only she and her faithful friend zebra can see what, in fact, is filled with air that we dishim! Magical, sweet, beautiful, funny creatures - that incarnation of the world of fantasy!
How to find the scribble: look at the monsters! Some of them enter into the skribble. When I saw these skribble in my head was the image of the magical creatures =3
I spend countless hours to draw this picture... I hope you like it
I wanted the tiger, especially his head, to pop out and be the focus of this picture. The strawberries are growing out of the tendrils, that are coming from the touch of the tigers paw and the ground. The tiger is the holy God of Evanescence, which means, where he goes there is life for a short time, in this case the strawberries on the ground of the forest, before they wilt and are gone. Evanescence for me means leaving life, which happens with time, so the clock around the tigers neck also has a meaning. ... sorry for my crappy English ^^'
