Tried a new colouring technique on this one

This was pretty fun ! Characters are Maxine and Kristov from my comic, #ArtSchoolSubRosa , which quite shamefully I haven't updated for a month- Sorry guys, that's what happens when bioware releases a new game! *Dragon Age 2 addicted*

So I'm thinking Max either lost a bet, was offered a lot of cash, or least likely but still possible puppy-dog-eyed at to model for Kris. Not that he really needs her to pose for more than a minute with his eidetic memory, but we don't need to remind Max about that That'd be cock-blockin'


I didn't want to do just a "character sitting about looking pretty" thing for this, but in a roundabout way I kinda have- but at least I incorporated personality into their poses and created a little humour .. the rules said that you should only have one character per entry... so uhhhh... Max doesnt really count D:

Hopefully I'll get back into comic pages soon. Have a few commissions to do, and would like to do a lot of traditional painting too as I feel I've been neglecting it.

Also, painting within a painting... WE CAN GO DEEPER?

Fantasy, beautiful women, long hair, brightly colored cloth, siamese cats, cetaceans, glowing things, music, pastries, fresh fruit, cherry cheesecake, drinking water, green flowers, huge leather-bound books, ruffles and lace, terra cotta, indoor plants, outdoor plants, palm trees, crystal water, oceans, beaches, desert oases, animals in general, real wood furniture, the moon and stars, clever kittens, mashrabiya windows, wisdom, sunlight filtering into dark rooms..

So many things! The owl and the fireflies are also a special shout-out to all of the music I listened to while painting, so much happiness :3 I hope you all like it! It was so good to paint again.

EDIT: I touched up a few things that bugged me and such, the most major being the window. I wanted the lattice to be more visible, and to darken the room a bit. Hopefully it still looks good to everyone~

POST-CONTEST EDIT : I'd love to thank you all individually, but now I have the smallest glimpse of the fan appreciation that those truly great artists out there on dA get. Thank you so much for all of your good wishes and congratulations.

I haven't drawn for 2 months.. I came on DA and I saw the skribble contest, you had to make something from 3 lines. I thought it would be fun to take part of it, you create things that you wouldn't normally make.
This time I wanted to do something different and gave it a mysterious unrealistic touch, something I wouldn't normally do I guess but I like to experiment (:. I tried to give it my own kind of style with a creative touch to it.

About the drawing:

I wanted to symbolize the transition of sadness and fear to hope and faith.

Life can be really hard and difficult but I want to show that it has a reason and that it can change into hope and beautiful things. The creative lines stand for the possibilities and chances we get in this life.

Sometimes I can really drive myself qrazy with thinking. It can become just too much and overwhelming.
We have to realize that there's always hope, even though if we can't see it. Never let anything get in your way. Life can be so hard but we must learn that everything has a reason… We have to learn, grow and be happy with every moment that is givin to us.
Life is weird but we always have to keep the faith <3
