If a clip is labeled "Tech Demo", it is NOT a game in production. The purpose of a tech demo is to showcase the processing power and graphical capabilities of a system. A lot of the time, real franchises are used in tech demos - Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy - but these "snippets" of games are NOT examples of actual games in production. They are "mock" games, or VERY short 'games', created for the sole purpose of making a console ACT like it is running a game. Using known franchises just helps to get your attention.
This isn't to say that a Tech Demo might not later BECOME a game, and there's usually a lot of talk that they will. But honestly, I can't even remember a time when it has. xD And I've been here a while.
