It had been a long hot day. James's hair stuck to the back of his neck as he walked down the path to the gate in front of his parent's cottage. He leaned over it, sighing, as there was no sign of life moving along the dirt road. The wind was picking up now, rolling across the field that bordered the road, rippling it as though it were a great golden ocean. Dark clouds were appearing on the horizon, framing the gold with dark blue. James looked over into Mrs. Wittle's yard, where the well endowed Mrs. Wittle herself was hastily pulling down her laundry in anticipation of the impending storm. She glanced at the clouds worryingly as she pulled down her last pair of pinstriped knickers, catching James in her eyesight and waving. James waved back, watching as she turned and collected her lawn gnomes and took them inside with her. James turned his attention back to the road, ruffling his hair in the wind. No sign of Sirius yet, but his excitement was mounting as the clouds approached. The da

He was dangerous
Their families harbor hatred
but their love may bring them together
He, a scorpion, was not unlike his father
until he found love in the strangest of places.
Finding it among their freckled faces.
She, a rose, was unexposed
until she found him.
And she loved him
And he loved her.
A modern Romeo and Juliet
They lived a happy ever after.
It Takes Two Chapter 1"Rosie, aren't you forgetting something?" Lily called out the door of the cousins' shared compartment. Rosie threw a look over her shoulder as if to say and what would that be, but there was Lily standing at the door dangling her stocking's and shoes as if it were a child's lunch pail on their very first day of school. It Takes Two Chapter 12 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Sheepishly she looked down at her rainbow painted toes and realized her mistake. "What would I do without you?" Rosie grabbed the footwear before prancing down the walkway past the trolley and to the prefects' compartment. She slipped into the seat by Albus barely late for the meeting. Things began with Willow Wood and her brother Wes giving the speech to Rosie, Albus and the other prefects informing them of all the practices and protocols that they may have forgotten from Headmaster McGonagall's annual speech. Halfway through Wes reminding them of the after curfew watch shifts the door slid open and a particularly late bloke sauntered in.

"No she won't, she helped you Scorp, actually helped you and now she has to reaffirm it in her mind that she hates you." He flipped through the pages of Hogwarts: A History looking for any hint of the Triwizard Tournament. So far he'd gone through fourteen books, 3 volumes and spent an extra hour of his time trying to coax any professors into giving him the small tidbit of information, but of course no such luck.
Scorpius however decided that the tournament could be put on complete hold while he had a stare down with a certain temperamental redhead. "She doesn't hate me, and I don't hate her. We simply bring out the competitive edge in one another." He refused to believe anyone hated him, for some odd reason he didn't comprehend the fact that Rosie wasn't a fan of the local wonder boy.
"Keep telling yourself that mate." He snapped the leather bound book closed. "Here, you'

"I'll put in a good word for you at Florence and Flora's Flower Fancy." He watched as her jaw hit the floor, "I believe we have a deal then."
"Very good, he should be arriving momentarily." Rose smoother her hair and skirt, Neville caught her reflection in the glass and chuckled to himself. "Come on help prepare the plants you'll be showing him today.

Lily was sitting in the common room on a couch in front of the fireplace. She was reading Hogwarts, A History for her next History of Magic lesson. She tried to concentrate on the legend of the Chamber of Secrets, but it wasn't that easy, as a loud applause and screaming started in the common room. Lily turned her head.
James Potter came down the stairs. There was a white little lily between his teeth. Lily rolled her eyes and returned to her book. After a few minutes, James stopped next to the couch. He stared at the girl without saying a word. Lily sighed angrily and glanced at him impatiently.
Lily's look changed from upset to shocked while James unbuttoned his shirt. He unfolded it, sticking his chest out. There was a writing on his skin with red ink under his tie, which read: 'WANNA DATE?'
James smiled with the flower in his mouth and looked questioningly at Lily.
"No." she said concisely.
Lily stood up with her book in her hand. She he

"I screwed up", James complained as he kicked off his shoes and jumped on the bed . He lied down, staring up at the ceiling before a low sigh escaped his lips. Bringing both hands up to his face, he took a deep breath, and sat back up, "I screwed up, padfoot ! Now, she won't even talk to me again."
"You know how spiteful and stubborn Evans can be , Prongs, how many times has she told you she'd never speak to you again and ended up talking to you?", Sirius replied as he turned the page of his Muggle magazine. He observed some muggle girls in bikini's on the top page , before looking back at James.
"I think she was serious this time..."
"She's never serious. She likes you", Sirius replied in a matter-of-fact tone of voice, smirking at the images he was seeing, "Besides, I told you to choose an easier target. Evans will make your life hell."

Scorpius and Rose had became close friends as the weeks passed. Scorpius made Rose laugh, and Rose made Scorpius kind. He didn't talk behind peoples backs, or belittle them. He treated them with respect, something that was very new to Scorpius.
Scorpius sat against a nearby tree watching Rose Weasley sink her feet in the Black lake. Summer seemed ever lasting, and fall hadn't even tried to appear. It was a burning hot Saturday and Rose had decided the best way to stay cool, was to get wet.
She splashed around, laughing a smiling as the water was the perfectly cool. Watching went from fun to agonizing pain for Scorpius Malfoy. He was finally accepting his feelings towards her and didn't know what to do about it. It hurt him to look at her, and not tell her. A painful hole seemed to grow in his stomach and he couldn't breathe. He felt like the wind had been knocked out of him. He put on a brave face and tried to be normal.

"Terrible innit?" He lifted his head, focusing his heavy gaze on the older boy in front of him. In years past, he'd only ever seen Oliver Wood looking grim over a lost Quidditch game. The weary resignation in his gaze now made him look positively ancient. "Never thought I'd see the day..."
He couldn't find it in him to respond, choosing instead to focus his energy on digging through the rubble.
"Hold the fort, Neville," she'd said...
His fingers ached as he clawed and scraped at the rubble, his heart even moreso at the discovery of a torn, red Gryffindor vest...
Oliver swore. "Bastards..."

A door opened and the mother entered, her long dark-red hair falling over her face. Now the father scooped up the son and handed him to the mother. He threw his wand down upon the sofa and stretched, yawning.
The gate creaked a little as it was pushed open, but Harry Potter did not hear. A white hand pulled out a wand from beneath a dark cloak and pointed it at the door, which burst open.

Her eyes were like the sky. They were blue and deep and they could stare right into your soul, and sometimes, that's what it felt like she was doing.
They were intense and paid attention to every detail surrounding her. They locked with his silvery ones and they were always looking for… something. They always tried to detect a hidden feeling, or maybe something subtle that no one else cared to look for, but something that was entirely important or wonderful.
Sometimes, her eyes surprised him. They would just be filled with magic and – that sounded so cheesy… - he just wondered what she saw in this world. He wondered how she saw it. In this world that was full of evil. No matter how hard her parents had fought for the freedom… it was never fully ridden of the terrible people. They still lingered. Red was always the first color he saw when they were together. He absolutely hated how everyone thought they were the cutest couple. They made him want to blow chunks.
It was always, Oh look at Rose Weasley and that Wood boy! or Did you see Rose and Marshall getting on in the Great Hall?
No, he didn't, and he didn't want to hear about it. About how the brunette and the Weasley girl with the red curls were sucking each other's faces off. It sickened him.
So he decided he would have to stop it.
And that itself had a lot to do with the color red. The red that was gushing out of Marshall's nose after Scorpius "overheard" him talking about how great Rose's tongue was. Sick.
Speaking of the redhead, here she was. She was sporting the normal Hogwarts uniform. Her skirt seemed a little shorter than earlier then again, earlier she was in the arms of Marshall Wood.

"Rosie! Where are you?!" he bellowed as he frantically searched for any sign of his friend's pale, small body. Even though she looked like her father, Rose got her height from her mother. She barely reached Scorpius's shoulder, and he himself was hardly average height.
Finally, he caught a glimpse of fiery red hair and sprinted towards it. When he finally reached Rose, he dropped to his knees and placed her head on his lap. She was unconscious. He couldn't tell if she was injured or not.
"Rosie, please wake up! Please!" Scorpius pleaded as he brushed some wayward curls away from her face.
His Mother's SisterShe was looking at Harry like she had never looked at him before. And all of a sudden, for the very first time in his life, Harry fully appreciated that Aunt Petunia was his mother's sister. He could not have said why this hit him so very powerfully at this moment.
