Taking a break from studying for her NEWTs, Hermione went for a stroll through the halls of Hogwarts. Her eyes were caught by a flash of white; an albino ferret was lolloping along beside her. She stopped to look at it, and it stood on its hind legs, looking back. "Aw, aren't you a pretty boy," Hermione cooed as she reached out and stroked its sleek fur, "Who do you belong to?"
The ferret jumped nimbly on her arm, running up to her shoulder and playing with her hair. It dived inside the neckline of her blouse, and Hermione giggled and squirmed when it stuck nose and paws inside her bra. "That tickles!"
"Draco Malfoy, I know you're around here somewhere!" Headmistress McGonagall came charging around a corner, followed by a confused-looking Goyle. "I simply cannot allow this to go on until you are properly and legally registere

It was the first Christmas Eve after the war. Hermione was overjoyed to be spending it with her parents, who, memories restored, were back from Australia. Around ten, the two glasses of wine she'd drunk had her yawning. "You'd best get to bed," her mother said, "Since you'll be going to the Weasleys so early tomorrow."
The Weasleys liked to begin their Christmas Day at the unholy hour of six in the morning. But Hermione wasn't going to complain. It was her first Christmas as Ron's girlfriend. She wondered what he would give h

So they went back to the hospital wing afterwards to stay with Ron and recover. She probably fell asleep in the chair whilst talking to Ron and Harry.

First term had began at the mysterious castle of Hogwarts with the halls and grounds filling up with witches and wizards, all of them catching up with old friends and getting ready for school. For Hermione Grangers first lesson back was Herbology with Professor Sprout, it was possibly either the worst lesson of Hermione's life, or the weirdest. In today's lesson the student were instructed to take the some of the sap from the deadly Tantacular, this was used for medicine against severe cuts and burns. Professor Sprout insisted they work with a student from the opposite house and if a pair succeeded without killing the plant both students will be awarded 50 points each for there houses. Harry, Ron and Hermione looked at each other dreading this lesson already because the house they were always with for most lessons was Slytherine, and it wasn't denied that they all hated each other. The next morning, Hermione woke to the sound of tapping on her bedroom window. Sitting up and rubbing her tired eyes, she looked towards the source of the noise. Outside of her bedroom window were 4 owls, all of which were trying to get in. Hermione jumped out of bed and over to the window, un-latching it so the poor birds could come in. She untied all the letters from the birds legs, but none of them left. Which meant they expected a reply. Looking at the handwriting on the envelopes, Hermione saw Harry, Ron, Ginny and even Mrs. Weasley's handwriting on them. She hung her head. Crap. Along with Harry's was a copy of today's Daily Prophet, which she supposed she would have to look at. Harry was always the one to remember small stuff, like the fact she didn't get one here.
Putting the letters down on her desk and picking up the Prophet, Hermione went to sit on her bed. She slowly unfolded

It took Hermione a few hours to calm down enough to leave the shower house, where she had hidden herself. She had cried, and then she'd be mad, and then she would start crying all over again. She had so many mixed emotions flying around. She had finally cried all that she could, no longer able to produce tears. So after she'd let the anger course through her one last time, she decided to go out. If he wasn't there anymore, whatever. Good riddance. If he was still there, though, she would ignore him. Either that or she would go back to being just as they were when they were at Hogwarts.
Hermione hesitantly opened the shower house door, not sure whether she was hoping for him to be around or for him to be gone. She still couldn't decide which would be better for her. She went under, and immediately the cold surrounded her. She fought to get to the surface, and when she did, she took in a giant gulp of air and screamed. She could hear Malfoy laughing somewhere off to the side.

A few weeks went by, with the foursome doing many things in and out of the wizarding world. She only reacted with different variations of 'I could pay for that/do that myself..' each time he did something. Never did she say thank you, or anything else of the kind. For the most part, Hermione Granger was giving Draco Malfoy the cold shoulder. It was early fall, and there was still no word of Vassily. Katya seemed to be wasting away right before Hermione's eyes. Everything about her got smaller except her belly. She seemed to be running purely on nervous energy, her eyes too bright in her head as she tore around the neighborhood, sending off dozens of owls a day and harassing Ministry workers. When she got tired out, she borrowed Dumbledore's replacement crystal ball and tried scrying.
It was a relief when Katya finally wanted to have a picnic day-trip again; it was a return to her old self. A round trip to Fontainebleau for five people ate into their savings, but, knowing it was a place Katya loved, Hermione happily paid for it.
Before they got on the train, Katya checked that Hermione and Draco were wearing the amulets she had bought them. She patted the pockets of her robes,

Draco glared at Aly's cell phone as she hung up. He even glared at her pocket when the phone was put in it. Chris was staying with Granger? All night? What the heck? So she would willingly let that gangly teenager muggle stay over at her house, in a hammock with her, while she wouldn't even let him kiss her? He could feel his face flush in anger. Anger at Granger for choosing the muggle over him. Anger at his mother for making him even care. Anger at his father for getting put in Azkaban, making his mother want him to do this in the first place.

She felt the early morning sun on her face and began pulling her up from her bed, it was only 6:00 am and since it was Saturday she was probably one of the first to be up. She quietly went to the bathroom and took a shower and got dressed, just a pair of casual black leggings and an oversized sweater, not very fashionable but comfy for an early morning walk.
She made a lose braid with her hair and simply let it lay on her shoulder, she took her small bag, it was a perfect bag, it would fit the most important; a wallet, a phone if necessary and her precious cigarettes.
She went down to the common room which was, of course, empty as well and trough the portrait hole and began walking down the many stairs.
